For nearly 75 years, The Keeneland Association has helped fulfill the dreams of Thoroughbred owners around the world.
Keeneland stands out as a unique combination Thoroughbred race course and sales company. It conducts three weeks of live racing each April and October, along with four horse sales each year. These are the:
• January Horses of All Ages
• April Two-Year-Olds in Training
• September Yearling
• November Breeding Stock
Keeneland has devoted itself to the health and vibrancy of the Thoroughbred industry. Presenting world-class racing and sales is one example of that commitment. Uniquely structured, Keeneland operates as non-dividend paying corporation that returns its earnings to the racing industry by offering lucrative purses; supporting initiatives to improve the health and well-being of human and equine athletes; and taking leadership roles in racing-related programs. Keeneland also makes charitable contributions to education, research, and health and human services.
Keeneland’s 1,000-acre complex includes a race course, sales pavilion, 55 barns that can house 1,900 horses, five dining rooms, corporate boxes and one clubhouse. Total seating is 8,799. Parking areas can accommodate 10,000 cars. The main track is a 1 1/16-mile oval with 4 ½-furlong and seven-furlong chutes. In the summer of 2006, Keeneland installed Polytrack, a revolutionary synthetic racing surface, as part of a major reconfiguration of the track that widened the turns and lengthened the stretch to 1,236 feet. The turf course is 7 ½ furlongs. Its stretch length is 1,190 feet.

As part of its commitment to the sport, Keeneland is honoured to sponsor the Keeneland Juvenile Fillies Stakes at Pune, to be run on Saturday, October 9, 2010.
