In a rare coup, the RWITC has arranged for Lt Gen A.K.Singh, GOC-in-C, Southern Command, to make an audio visual presentation to the members of the Club, on Matters Military.

The occasion arose after the RWITC Chairman heard Lt Gen A K Singh speak at a private function in Mumbai, some months ago, and impressed by his presentation, invited the Commander to do likewise at the Pune Season.

Lt Gen A.K.Singh, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC, is an alumnus from the NDA and one of the Indian Army’s most highly trained and professional officers. He has the unique distinction of being the only officer to be trained in both Russia and NATO, at the height of the Cold War. He presently heads the largest Command, the Southern, covering ten states, and four Union territories. The General is also a keen sportsman and excels at Cycle Polo and horse riding and is a great supporter of racing and equestrian sport.

Mr Vivek Jain stated, “ It is our honour to have Lt Gen Singh make an audio visual talk on various issues and magnitude of running the Indian Army. I know him to be an outstanding orator, and an officer renowned for his integrity and professionalism. His acceptance of our invite, and the magnificent show staged by the Southern Command on their race day is proof of their desire to gradually, but surely build a stronger rapport with our Club.”

It is learnt that Lt Gen A K Singh will present the RWITC with a painting for the newly renovated Ball Room at the Turf Club House at this event.
