Breathing Space: RWITC's community initiative draws applause

Citispace, a leading NGO on open spaces, and Tribe@Turf- an RWITC  Community initative, launched Breathing Space, an exhibition of Mumbai’s reserved open spaces at the RWITC on Saturday evening.
 
Milind Deora, a Central Congress minister and member of parliament, was present for the inauguration and applauded RWITC’s association with Citispace for this event, which is critical for Mumbai’s development.
 
Vivek Jain, Chairman, RWITC, welcomed the gathering and informed the audience of the various efforts of the Club in the fields of charity, music, culture and sport, and this the latest endeavour encompassing environment.
 
Neera Punj and Nayana Kathpalia spoke on behalf of Citispace.
 
Huge panels were displayed showing the ward wise demarcation of open reserved spaces in Mumbai.
 
Hathautee had an impressive display and sale of handmade Indian arts and crafts, which was very well received.
 
Lesle Lewis performed live at the inaugural, with three foot stomping numbers, much to the delight of the attendees, which included Julio Ribeiro, ex Police Commissioner, Shri Goud, Joint Secretary, Home Department, Shri Sukhtankar, ex Municipal Commissioner, and members of the media.
