The McDowell’s Signature Premier Indian Derby weekend, witnessed a brand new innovative format for the live web-telecast which will be available every Sunday till the end of the season. Members and patrons of the RWITC Ltd live streaming were able to enjoy a new and improved broadcast which enhanced the viewer experience of the top class weekend’s racing. With front-line contenders being highlighted, along with pre-race interviews, market analysis and incisive pointers towards the way the horses were turned out in the paddock, the web-telecast revolutionized the viewers experience.
Almost all winning trainers, jockeys and owners were available for post race interviews and many celebrated names in Indian racing made their presence felt. The viewers were delighted to get first-hand views and opinions of highly respected stewards, owners, trainers and jockeys.
The objective for this format is to eliminate the long break between races, which is now being better utilized to provide information and entertainment which will increase the popularity of the sport as well as provide the patrons with clearer clarity in a sport which at the best of times can be confounding.
Honest and exuberant reactions from the winning connections, were a highlight of this web-telecast, along with interviews and tête-à-tête’s with noted sponsors, stewards and stud farm owners, such as Dr Cyrus Poonawalla, Mr Rakesh Kumar Wadhawan, Mr Vivek Jain, Mr Vijay Shirke, Mr K.N.Dhunjibhoy, Mr Champaklal Zaveri, Mr Harresh Mehta, Mr Siddhartha Mallya, Mr Adar Poonawalla, Mr Zeyn Mirza, Ms Ameeta Mehra and Mr Nirmal Singh, to name a few, were much appreciated by the racing fraternity.
Most top national and international professionals also had their bit to say, namely Pesi Shroff, Bezan Chenoy, Rehanullah Khan, Malesh Narredu, Sathish Narredu, Karthik G, Martin Dwyer, Richard Hughes, B.Prakash, Stephane Pasquier, Anthony Crastus, C.D.Hayes, Suraj Narredu, Daniel Grant, and P.S.Chouhan amongst others.
The new and improved segments on the show have also clearly improved the viewer experience as the fitness of the horses was closely analyzed by the broadcast team during ‘Parading in the Paddock’. The sheer joy and exhilaration of the connections was apparent when walking down the pathway coming off the track in the ‘Leading-In’ segment. Current form, pre-race interviews with the connections, final workouts and form guides were made available in ‘Behind the Scenes’. And finally the sheer joy that it brings to the team involved with a winning horse, was ably shown as each and every race had post race interviews with the jockey, trainer or owner in ‘Winning Connections’.
Fashion and lifestyle at the races was at its Sunday best, and the telecast team conducted interviews with many varied revelers who had come out to enjoy the first Sunday in February at the Indian Derby.
Thus every Sunday, a new and improved quality web-telecast, with additional camera angles, will be made available to the members, patrons and racing enthusiasts from across the country and world, who love to follow racing in Mumbai and Pune. The RWITC Ltd, once again takes a pioneering and extremely progressive step towards bringing our online viewers a racing experience which is entertaining, informative and an overall detailed understanding of the sport, directly from the most celebrated, creditable, and respected professionals involved in the game.
