Vivek Jain, the chairman of the Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) was appointed chairman of the stewards of the club on Sunday.
“The stewards had to fill in the post of the chairman after the sudden and unexpected resignation of Shivlal Daga. Nobody was willing to lead and they all requested me to become chairman till the next Annual General Meeting of the club,” said Jain.
He, however, clarified that he is an interim chairman only and would like somebody else to shoulder the responsibility after the AGM.
