FROM THE HORSES MOUTH - RACE FORM ANALYSIS GUIDE FOR SATURDAY, 28TH OCTOBER 2017
- By Cyrus Naterwalla
Race No. 1 :- The Artois Plate – Div.II – Class IV – Distance :- 1400M
TAKE FIVE :- Is a 3 year old filly trained by Malesh Narredu who is making her handicap debut after 3 unsuccessful runs in maidens. She made her debut over a mile in Bangalore back in June where she finished to Angel Power and was hot favourite for her first run in Western India over 1200M but she was in the rear and struggling to keep pace for much of the journey and absolutely motored home to finish an improbable 2nd to Bunting by a diminishing ¾ length. Her final run was a month ago, also over 6 furlongs where she was ridden much more prominently but could not quicken in the straight and ended up 3rd to Gallant Knight. She has been working very well since the run and must be given a good chance on her handicap debut with P.S. Chouhan up and with 7 furlongs possibly suiting better. However, she does not convince as being totally straightforward and she may not be good value as she is likely to go off favourite.
FROSTED :- Is a 4 year old filly from the yard of Imtiaz Sait who has run 11 times so far with a solitary success to her name. She was unsuccessful in the early part of her career over sprints but seemed to be coming to hand towards the end of the last Mumbai season when upped to middle distances and scored her maiden victory over 7 furlongs where she easily beat Happy Birthday by 3 ½ lengths. After having a lung opener in Pune, she ran a good race last time out over this trip when finishing a close 2nd to Arabian Storm and seems to have improved for that judging from her recent track work. Raghuveer Singh gets along well with her and has been riding her in her last several runs and she looks to have an excellent chance to earn another bracket in this field and is strongly fancied.
ISINIT :- 5 year old filly trained by S.N. Joshi she has become most frustrating to follow and looks quite exposed having racked up 19 starts without a win and does not seem to be running consistently either. She has raced 4 times this season and did manage to finish 2nd to Winds of Change on her penultimate start over 6 furlongs but has run poorly in her other 3 races including last time out when finishing 9th. K. Nazil who has been booked has been riding some good races this season but she does not look a reliable sort and is a rank outsider who may just be able to sneak into a place.
SAFFRON FLOWER :- Another 3 year old filly, this one from the yard of M. P. Jodha, she has raced exclusively over sprints till date and is winless from 6 starts although she has shown some improvement in her last couple of starts where she has made good late headway from the rear, first to finish 2nd to Loire over 1000M and last time out, ending up a fair 3rd to Beshiktash, beaten about 6 lengths although she jumped out awkwardly and seemed to be racing with a very high head carriage for much of the contest. Her style of racing suggests that this extra furlong is likely to suit her and Nirmal Jodha now takes over in the saddle from the stable apprentice. Her full sister Fencing recently won her maiden over a mile, she may benefit from a stronger rider and could be decent each way value at a good price.
LILAC TIME :- 4 year old maiden from the stables of Narendra Lagad, she has been working well for much of this season and after an indifferent start to her career has run a couple of promising races this term. She seems to lack early speed and is usually towards the rear in the first half of her races but finishes on strongly as seen on her penultimate run when she made up good ground to be a flying late 3rd to Super Icon. Her next run was a touch disappointing when she had every chance but could only finish 5th to Name of the Game but she is another who is likely to appreciate the extra furlong. It is also significant that she has been ridden by apprentices upto now but Dashrath Singh takes over in the saddle for the first time and hence she must be respected.
CONCLUSION :- Frosted appears to be a 4 year old on the upgrade and is selected if she is able to build on her good last effort. Lilac Time with Dashrath Singh up for the first time also must be respected and looks a danger to all. The 3 year olds Take Five and Saffron Flower complete the short list with the latter possibly proving to be good each way value at a price.
Race No. 2 :- The Nitrous Plate – Class III – Distance : - 2000M
SIMON SAYS :- Hosidar Daji trained 5 year old gelding who seemed to have caught excellent form this season, scoring back to back wins in his first 2 starts but has appeared to be in the handicappers grip since then. He was sent off favourite last time out over course and distance but found In My Dream too strong and could only finish a well held 2nd. He drops down into the lower class but has to shoulder top weight as a result and even though Dashrath Singh retains the ride, he looks handicapped to the hilt at present and may require to pull out some additional improvement if he is to return to the winner’s circle. He looks likely to run into a place again but is hard to fancy from a win perspective.
GLORIOUS EYES :- Temperamental filly trained by Imtiaz Sait who has raced only upto a mile so far and will be tackling this trip for the first time. She has 2 wins to her name from 14 starts and interestingly both those wins have been over shorter trips (1200 and 1400M). She has run well both starts this season, first chasing home Timeless over a mile and then finishing a close 6th in a blanket finish behind Big Sur. She should stay this far as she likes to come from off the pace and C.S. Jodha has been in good form this season. However, she is taking on some good younger horses from the bottom of the scale and is another who looks more of a place contender.
RISING BRAVE :- Well bred and lightly raced 4 year old colt trained by Rehanullah Khan, he looked a promising prospect when winning his maiden around this time last year, beating Sherlock and House of Commons over 1400M. He seemed to suffer a setback after finishing last of 3 in the Morvi and was then off the track until reappearing in Bangalore in July where he ended a good 2nd over a mile to Bora Bora but was again withdrawn on his next start. He ran a good race when reappearing in Pune a couple of weeks ago, finishing 3rd to Pacific Dunes over a mile and is now upped to this trip for the first time. It is also interesting that inexperienced 5 kilo claimer B.Nikhil has been booked to ride and perhaps he will attempt start to finish tactics at his low weight.
ZENON :- Classic contender from the Dhunjibhoy – Shirke camp who is trained by Pesi Shroff and has 1 win to his name from 5 starts till date. His form looks only modest so far, winning a mile maiden on his 3rd start where he was odds on and just about managed to get the better of the debutant Pure Zinc. He ran a shocker and finished tailed off in the Bangalore Colts Trial Stakes but ran a much better race upped to this trip when finishing 5th in the Bangalore Derby and that form looks good enough to tackle this field. He has been rested and well prepared since then and having just his 6th start, he is likely to improve further. Receiving weight all around here, he looks to be a major player and is greatly respected with Neeraj Rawal in the saddle.
ARABIAN STORM :- Impeccably bred 4 year old colt who ironically was sold out of Pesi Shroff’s yard and has run his last 2 races in the care of Narendra Lagad. He scored first time out over 1400M for his new connections beating Frosted who runs earlier in the card but was disappointing last time out when finishing midfield in a race won by his stable companion. However he comes from a family of solid stayers like Leger winners Arabian Knight and Arabian Prince and hence the step up to this trip is definitely in his favour. H. Zeeshan has been booked who will claim an additional 5 kilos so he will be going practically bareback and he is another who could control the gallop from the front and run his rivals into the ground.
CONCLUSION :- This looks likely to be fought out by the two bottom weights Arabian Storm and Zenon. The former is of great interest upped to this staying trip with plenty of stamina on the dam’s side and he will do even better over further while the latter ran an improved race in the Bangalore Derby and looks the form choice if he is fit and ready after the break.
Race No. 3 :- The Red Dragon Plate – Div. II – Class V – Distance :- 1000M
SARRAZIN :- Untried and improving 4 year old filly from the yard of Faisal Abbas, she has had 4 runs till date, 2 apiece in Mumbai and Pune and has been unplaced on all 4 occasions her last run coming back in mid August so she returns after a short break. She comes from a good family being a full sister to Zahrazan who was a speedy sort and her other siblings include the well performed Speed King and Andreus. Her last few workouts have been quite eye catching and she is eased in grade into the lowest class. Amyn Merchant who has been riding her in all her work and her previous runs this term is up again and she is one worth keeping an eye on and could spring a surprise at long odds.
GLORIOUS THUNDER :-Exposed 4 year old gelding from the Dallas Todywalla yard who looked a promising type in the early part of his career but has gone off the boil of late and finds his mark continuing to tumble. He finished 4th over 1200M on his first run in this grade, not beaten far in the race won by Name of the Game but then ran poorly last time out. He drops to this minimum trip for the first time in his career but on past evidence is likely to find it on the sharp side. However, he has to be respected with Neeraj Rawal up and looks a good outsider.
MULTISTAR :- 4 year old filly from the S.K. Sunderji yard she has a smart pedigree and there is a suspicion that she has not been seriously tried in her 8 starts till date. Her last run three weeks ago was quite promising when dropping back to this trip and making leisurely progress to finish a disinterested 4th to Priceless Girl and she should be able to build on that. The booking of A. Imran Khan catches the eye and she has secured a good berth in Stall 4. She looks one of the principals contenders in what should be a highly competitive event and is well fancied.
ALFONSO :- Fully exposed 5 year old gelding trained by Narendra Lagad who has 1 win to his name from 26 starts and is usually effective over longer trips. He looks to be on a useful mark at present and last time out over 1200M, he finished on strongly to be 2nd to stable mate Art O War so he comes into this in good form. Raghuveer Singh who was on him last time out retains the ride and he appears to have the best chance of the yard’s 3 runners.
COUNTRY’S EMPRESS :- 5 year old mare who is now trained by Arif Patel and has yet to pass the post first in 12 starts till date. She has already run 3 times this season and caught the eye on her last but one run where she led from the outset and battled on to be a good 2nd to Make It Shine over 1200M. She can be forgiven her last run with a feeble rider up where she was again prominent but was interfered with by a horse stumbling and bringing down the rider right in front of her and the booking of D.S. Daman now suggests that connections fancy their chances. She has unfortunately been drawn wide in Stall 16 but still looks one of the chief contenders and must not be ignored.
RESURGE :- Earlier trained by Malesh Narredu as Shashrabaahu and has raced 7 times over trips ranging from 1000 – 2000M without much success, her best effort being when 4th of 6 on debut to Sydney Harbour over this trip. Narendra Lagad took her over since then and has booked J. Chinoy to ride so although there is no basis for supporting her on her current form and she is returning from a long lay off, she looks a rank outsider who should be included in the Jackpot Pool and may be able to spring a surprise for her new connections.
GOLDSMITH :- Unreliable 5 year old gelding trained by Hosidar Daji who won his maiden race over course and distance around this time last year, his only good run in 18 starts. He has been quite out of form this season in spite of working well but has now drawn the Plum rail draw and looks to be on a handy mark. K. Nazil claims a useful 5 kilos and if he has his galloping shoes on, then he could earn himself another bracket although a leap of faith is required to support him.
OLIVIA KASPEN :- Woefully out of form 5 year old mare trained by Subhag Singh who has done nothing of note in 16 starts till date and has plunged right down to the bottom of the scales. However, she did show some spark in her last run 3 weeks ago over course and distance when finishing on well from the rear to be just outside the frame with the same rider on board. There is no guarantee that she will be able to build on that effort and progress again but if she does improve on that last effort, then she can be involved.
CONCLUSION :- The well bred and unexposed Multistar is the selection here as she finished an easy 4th last time out, has a positive Jockey switch and has been working well. The top weighted Sarrazin is also of interest at a price as she has been working well and has a nice pedigree.
Race No. 4 :- The General Rajendrasinhji Million – Terms – 3 Years Old Only – Distance :- 1600M
TEXAS GOLD :- This Hosidar Daji trained ward is the highest rated in this field and is also probably the best performed of this bunch and has to concede weight to his rivals as a result. He has 3 wins to his name from 8 starts till date and his best form has been over this trip which is encouraging. He finished 4th in a hot class III contest over 1400M on his reappearance, and after that showed a willing attitude to wear down Nelsons Blood over this trip a couple of weeks ago. He has been kept fresh and fit since then and Neeraj Rawal retains the ride so although he looks to be the form pick here, he has less scope to improve than some of the lightly raced and unexposed runners. He makes the short list.
GALLANT KNIGHT :- Appears to be one of the top rung 3 year olds from the Karthik G. yard and has performed well in his limited career so far. He has only run 4 times till date, 3 of those runs coming this term after a promising debut when 5th in the B.K. Rattonsey Million back in Mumbai. He was an unlucky loser on his reappearance over 1200M when he was hampered at a crucial stage, had to switch right around the field losing ground and was the fastest moving at the finish to be a good 2nd to Mygrator. He then went on to run a close 4th in the F.D. Wadia behind Rochester before returning to 6 furlongs to score a comfortable maiden win over Victoriana last time out. He is running over a mile for the first time and there are mixed messages from the pedigree with one full sister Striking View staying 2000M and the other Justice Angel winning upto 1200M. Y.S. Srinath is a good jockey booking and if he stays the longer trip then he will be right there.
ORION’S BELT :- Narendra Lagad trained 3 year old who has done quite well in her limited career so far with 2 wins to her name from 5 starts, having run well on almost every occasion. After having a lung opener this term, she ran a good race to finish a good 2nd to We Break The Rules and then scored over 1400M a couple of weeks ago, beating Turning Point by a long neck. Her form looks below that of some of the principals but she deserves to take a crack at something like this and comes into the race in good form. J. Chinoy who rode her last time retains the ride but she appears to be one of the outsiders.
BATELEUR :- The least experienced runner in this field but also the one with the most potential having just his 3rd career start and receiving weight as a result. He made an impressive debut over 1400M as recently as August when he travelled strongly throughout and convincingly beat Admo. He was then thrust into the S.A. Poonawalla Multi Million on just his 2nd start and ran creditably attempting to make all and only worn down close home by Pure Zinc. A. Imran Khan takes the ride, he has been working superbly and looks likely to resume his upward curve and is strongly fancied to take this.
CONCLUSION :- The lightly raced and well regarded Bateleur should have enough improvement in him to take this and is a confident selection here. The improving Gallant Knight and the well performed Texas Gold should follow him home.
Race No. 5 :- The Mayor Baburao Sanas Memorial Million powered by SRS Group – Terms – Maiden 2 Year Olds Only – Distance :-1000M
MASAR :- Dean’s Kitten colt trained by S.A. Waheed who rarely has a juvenile runner this early and must be a forward sort. He has been showing out quite well in the morning trials and has J. Chinoy booked to ride. Dean’s Kitten progeny have come into their own over distance trips in India so far so he likely to better over further eventually and may find things happening too quickly for him here. He is a full brother to Khartoum who made an impressive debut recently albeit over 7 furlongs and is likely to be better when given more galloping ground.
ART MANOEUVRE :- Trainedby Narendra Lagad, she is a half sister to 1000 Guineas placed Solange and is another likely to come into her own over slightly further although Excellent Art should impart some speed from the sire’s side and yard usually has their juveniles fit and ready to go. She has had enough of prep work to get her fit and with Dashrath Singh up and the rail draw, she is likely to attempt start to finish tactics.
DESERT PRIDE :-One of the first foals of Champion Colt Strong Suit to race in India out of a well performed mare trained by the same Trainer, she looks a good type on paper and will be ridden by the man of the moment Suraj Narredu. She too has impressed in her lead up work and has jumped out well from the gates in gate practice. She looks a potentially smart sort and could prove to the best of this quartet eventually. She is seriously considered although paddock looks will play a big part .
ICONIA :- Appears to be the speediest of these judging from preparatory work and juveniles from the Todywalla yard tend to be on the forward side early in the season. Her pedigree appears to be all about speed by Excellent Art out of a Green Desert mare so she is likely to possess plenty of speed as has been evidenced by her workouts. Neeraj Rawal is a good booking and she looks a leading fancy here although her appearance in the paddock will give the final say.
CONCLUSION :- With only pedigree and fitness to go on, it is hard to make a selection here and paddock looks will probably have the final say. The two whom look most interesting are the speedily bred Iconia and Desert Pride and the race should be between this pair.
Race No. 6 :- The Delhi Race Club Trophy – Class I – Distance :- 1200M
BRYNHILL :- Now 8 years of age and must be feeling the effects of that but is still managing to compete successfully at this level, having placed in his last 2 starts. He finished runner up to St. Andrews over 1200M and then dropped to 5 furlongs, ran 3rd to Harvey and Abbey last time out. He is fully exposed and has to concede weight all around but with Santosh G up, should give a good account of himself and may have a say in the finish.
GOLD BAG :-6 year old mare trained by Adhirajsingh Jodha, she has been out of form this season, soiling her phenomenal previous record where she had been unbeaten in 5 runs on the track. She has not looked the same filly this time around but she should have gained some fitness after 2 runs and drops into much easier company now. The booking of rookie D.R. Shubham tempers enthusiasm somewhat but she has been drawn well in Stall 2 and if she can regain her old speed and get to the front, then she could be hard to catch. Interesting.
ABBEY :- Wonderfully consistent 5 year old mare who has been kept going quite remarkably by Faisal Abbas and has a splendid last year or so running exclusively over 1000M. She managed to win 4 races on the trot until succumbing to Harvey last time out when she was not given the best of rides, wide throughout and unable to sustain. She looks ready to try 6 furlongs now and if her ride is able to harness her energy over this extra furlong then she looks very capable of bouncing back quickly. Suraj Narredu is a good booking and she must run with an outstanding chance.
CHAMPAGNE :- 5 year old mare trained by Rehanullah Khan, she too has a fine record of 5 wins from 22 starts and has been working her way slowly back to form. She too had hit a purple patch on this track last season and should improve from the lung opener which she must have needed last time out. P.S. Chouhan takes the ride and if back to her best, then she could be quite a handful.
LADISLAUS :- Tough and consistent 4 year old handicapper trained by S.K. Sunderji who has slowly worked his way up the handicap ranks to enter this class and comes into this at the top of his game. He has been in excellent form over the last 6 months and when last seen at the end of August, proved too speedy for Turf Dancer and Governor General to win fluently over this trip, clocking an excellent time in the process. He needs to raise his game against this tougher opposition and with Neeraj Rawal replacing A.Imran Khan in the saddle, he is likely to give it a good go and should make a bold bid to go in again.
UNDISPUTED :- Stable and owner companion of Ladislaus he too has been doing very well and slowly climbing up the handicap ranks and is effective over both 5 and 6 furlongs. He has run thrice this season, just failing to reel in Abbey on reappearance over 5 furlongs and he is weighted to gain revenge on that run. Last time out he was poorly ridden by Parbat Singh, and yet finished a close 3rd to Ruffina and Free Speech and Dashrath Singh is a much better booking plus he gets a significant drop in weight. He looks in fine fettle at present and looks a very strong fancy from the bottom of the scales.
CONCLUSION :- With plenty of potential front runners and pace in the race, this could very likely set up for one of the closers and Undisputed is hence the selection here. He is better placed than Abbey on their 5 furlong run and last time out, was not given the best of rides when finishing a close 3rd to Ruffina. The forceful Dashrath Singh is up today and he looks to have an excellent chance. Champagne, who also comes from off the pace and comes in well on her best form, and the wonderfully consistent Abbey also merit consideration.
Race No. 7 :- The Artois Plate – Div. I – Class IV – Distance :- 1400M
SUMAAQ :- 5 year old mare trained by Faisal Abbas she has won 2 of her 19 starts and has been quite consistent in her last few starts. Last time out, she returned from a long absence to finish an excellent close 3rd to Jarama over an inadequate 6 furlongs and this trip will be much more suitable. She should strip fitter from the last run and with C.S. Jodha taking over from S.G. Prasad in the saddle, she looks to have a strong each way chance
TIMELESS DEEDS :- 3 year old who has run 9 times till date and has not been able to build on her win on debut over this trip although she has been running with promise this season. She finished a flying close 2nd over 1200M on her penultimate start suggesting that she was ready to strike and last time out appeared to run in snatches when looking a danger and finishing 4th to stable companion Orion’s Belt. She is having her 3rd run in 3 weeks time and if the racing has not been taking it’s toll on her then she runs with a strong chance.
GRAND VITESSE :- 5 year old trained by Hosidar Daji who has an unconvincing overall profile with just 1 win from 21 starts and seems to be working his way back to form this season. He has had 2 lung openers already so should be fit enough now and has been working very well of late. He was running promisingly when in form during the last Mumbai season and if returns to that sort of form then he could very well be in the thick of things. Santosh G takes the ride and he is another to consider here.
MARVEL :- 5 year old mare trained by S.K. Sunderji who has 2 wins to her name from 23 previous starts and is usually effective off this sort of mark and over this trip. She has had 4 starts this season and looked likely to win very soon on her penultimate run when she finished a close 3rd to Bunting. She did not run badly over a mile last time out and back at this trip and with her regular rider R. Ajinkya up, she looks to have a strong each way chance
DIVINE MAGIC :- Lightly raced 4 year old who seems to have scope for improvement having raced 8 times till date and has been knocking on the door the last couple of starts. He has finished 3rd in each of his last 2 starts, last time out over this trip when finishing 3rd to Star Comrade. The booking of Y.S. Srinath catches the eye and if unlocking some more improvement, then he looks a strong fancy to finally shed his maiden tag.
AQUARIUS :- Maiden 4 year old who has had 11 starts till date and has finished 2nd on 3 occasions but has been totally out of form since finishing a close 2nd to Lady In Red way back in January. What is interesting is that he was very well backed last time out although having no show and finishing in midfield. S. Joseph claims a useful 5 kilos off and he could be an end of season surprise if the money comes for him again so is worth keeping an eye on as a lively outsider.
CONCLUSION :- A tough and competitive handicap event and it is difficult to nominate any one with several appearing to have chances. Divine Magic with Y.S. Srinath up looks a strong contender to shed his maiden tag but it may be worth chancing the bottom weighted Aquarius. He was quietly fancied last time out and is now running practically bareback at 47 kilos. Change on name may bring about a change in luck and he could be worth backing at lucrative odds.
Race No. 8 :- The Golfing Plate – Maiden 3 Year Olds – Distance :- 1400M
AGGREGATED :- Half brother to Columbiana from the Malesh Narredu yard who looks the part on paper and has been solidly prepared for his debut run. Has been catching the eye in his morning work and has also gone a Mock Race so he should be fit enough. He looks an exciting prospect on paper and with Neeraj Rawal to guide him, looks to have an excellent chance to make a winning debut with those who have run not having any solid substantial form.
KOTOR :- Is held in quite high regard by his Trainer but has run 3 times so far over sprints and has nothing to show for it so appears to have something to prove now. He is having just his 4th start so there is still plenty of scope for him to improve and he is now stepped up in trip in the hope of unlocking some improvement. He is working well but he has been for some time now and improving apprentice S.A. Amit has been booked to ride so he looks an interesting outsider who could spring a surprise.
MAN OF WORD :- Comes from the in form yard of S. K.Sunderji and is marginally the highest rated of this lot and also one of the most experienced having raced 7 times so far. He has had 4 runs this season over distances ranging from 1200M to a mile and except for the mile run where he finished in the ruck, he has finished 3rd on each of the other 3 occasions. He was 3rd beaten about 2 lengths by Smart Choice and Godsent last time out and should not be bothered too much by the extra furlong. A. Imran Khan takes the ride and he merits each way consideration .
MANDRAKE :- Another potentially exciting prospect, he is a got abroad Danehill Dancer colt from the powerful yard of Pesi Shroff and looks a nice sort on paper with the dam Inetrobil a listed winner over 6 furlongs in the UK. He appears to be quite underdone with just a couple of easy workouts to his name and may well be out for an educative run but he commands respect on his trainer’s reputation and cannot be totally ignored. One for the future.
SANDALPHON :- Comes from the small yard of trainer Himmat Singh but is highly thought of by his connections as he contested several plum events as a juvenile although not doing much. He showed signs of ability over an inadequate 5 furlongs last time out when finishing on to be a faraway 2nd behind runaway Wild Fire but this 7 furlongs trip should be much more suitable. He was withdrawn on his last intended start back in September so is returning from a short break but C.S. Jodha is a rare booking for the yard and he is sure to be well fancied.
STAR OF THEA :- Comes from the leading stable of Narendra Lagad and has had 3 runs till date and showed progression with every run. Having finished just outside the frame in his reappearance run over this trip, he was quietly fancied last time out over an inadequate 5 furlongs and was the fastest moving at the finish when closing strongly to end runner up to the speedy Princess P. That run should have put him spot on for this contest, he has been working well and with Dashrath Singh on board, he looks the best of those which have already raced .
CONCLUSION :- With those that have already raced not showing earth shattering form, the well bred and prepared Aggregated looks set to make a winning debut and should be too good for this lot. Star of Thea appears the main danger from the experienced runners and the Pesi Shroff ward Mandrake must also be respected in spite of appearing to be unfit.
Race No. 9 :- The Red Dragon Plate – Div. I – Class V – Distance :- 1000M
HIGHLAND PRINCESS :- This 4 year old filly from the yard of Shazaan Shah had raced 12 times till date and has no wins to her name as yet but she has finished 2nd on 4 occasions and all 4 of those have been when she has been eased into this class. She had 2 consecutive close 2nd place finishes to her name in this class before running unplaced in the higher class last time out. Raghuveer Singh has been booked to ride today and she has bagged the No. 1 rail draw so she looks a strong contender to finally gain her overdue maiden success.
ADELE:- 4 year old from the Nazak Chenoy yard she has run 6 times till date and has seemingly come to hand in her last couple of starts, placing on both occasions. She finished 2nd to Super Icon over 1200M on her penultimate run and last time out, dropped to this trip, she ran 3rd to Priceless Girl. She seems to have maintained her form and fitness judging from her recent trackwork and with Santosh G up again, she looks to have a strong each way chance if progressing again.
OUTSTANDING :- Speedily bred 3 year old filly from the S.K. Sunderji yard she has run thrice already this season, all over 1000M and has done nothing to note yet. However, her last run was over a month ago and she appears to have improved substantially as her track work has been excellent of late. She is an unknown quantity who is running in the lowest grade and has the services of A Imran Khan in the saddle so if she is able to reproduce her excellent track work then she could very well be able to beat this lot. Dark horse.
DANCE OF FIRE :- Nicely bred 3 year old filly from the Narendra Lagad yard who has run 8 times till date including 4 times this season but has done nothing of note till date. However, she appears to be the choice of Dashrath Singh who takes over for the first time today and she warrants each way consideration in this very open looking finale.
FOREVER FREE :- 4 year old filly from the small stable of Arif Patel, she has raced 8 times till date and thrice this term and she ran a forward race over 1400M on her penultimate start where she was prominent throughout and kicked on to finish 2nd to Vitesse. She made no show when again competing over 1400M last time out and now drops to this trip and D.S. Daman has been booked to ride. She did finish a close 3rd over this trip in her juvenile season and is another who looks to have each way claims.
MAKE IT SHINE :- Aged 6 year old from the yard of Vijay Kasbekar, she scored a shock maiden success over 1200M on her 21st attempt when coming with a strong run to peg back Country’s Empress and Divine Spark and did not run too badly when 5th under a penalty next time out. She has not been too harshly penalized for that win and C.S. Jodha is a very positive Jockey Booking so although she is not the most consistent, she should come into consideration and can add some pep to the finish.
BEE QUIRKY :- Speedily bred 4 year old filly who has slowly been working her way into form and ran a forward race last time out before being collared close home by the hard ridden favourite. She is likely to improve again on just her 8th start and M. Ayyar who has ridden some promising races this season has been declared to ride. She is drawn in the middle of the field in Stall 8 and should make a bold bid to go one better now .
CONCLUSION :- An extremely tough finale with Highland Princess just a tentative selection in a race with several chances. The 3 year old Outstanding could strike if reproducing her excellent track work.
