NOTICE
PLACEMENT OF STARTING GATES
The entire Race Track at the Pune Race Course has been converted to Monsoon Track with effect from the current Pune Meeting 2014.
Whenever there are no false rails, the starting gates are positioned at the respective marker. However, whenever there are false rails of significant width, it is required to measure the length with the Roadometer to get the correct distance and the starting gates are to be placed at the points measured by the Roadometer. However, in view of the fact that the new monsoon track has not yet settled fully, whenever the starting gates are to be placed at different places, the tyres of the starting gates and tractor cause damage to the track at different places.
In view of the above and in order to obviate any possible damage to the track, the Stewards of the Club have decided that the starting gates should be positioned at the respective markers even when there are false rails. However, this will result in the distance becoming more whenever there are false rails of significant width. Nonetheless, for the information of the racing patrons, the exact distance will be measured and announcements will be made of the actual distance of the race based on the placement of starting gate.
