TAI and Jockeys' Association have good meeting in Mumbai

The awaited meeting between the Chairmen, Turf Authorities of India (TAI) and the Jockeys’ Association of India (JAI) was held in Mumbai on Thursday and went off well.
Issues covering licensing, medical facilities, apprentice jockeys, retirement benefits, accident compensation, insurance, reciprocity in punishments were among the range of subjects covered.
“It was conducted in good spirit, and TAI was appreciative of many of the submissions made by the jockeys,” said Vivek Jain, Chairman, TAI, who chaired the meeting. “We propose to table a list of recommendations to individual Turf Authorities for their consideration.”
The jockeys were represented by their President, P.S. Chouhan and Sherry Kapoor.
