Mumbai: Giantti by Gitanjali Indian 1000 Guineas, the first classic of the Mumbai season this Sunday is set to kick off a series of glamorous weekend afternoons laced with top class horse racing at Mahalaxmi racecourse.
?? A new crop of threeyear-olds classic contenders will vie for a record stakes of about Rs 45 lakh. Home grown females like Moonlight Romance, Blackjack and Eloise will take on southern super star Siachen.
?? Complimenting the action on turf will be a live fashion show by Gitanjali. There will be prizes for best dressed ones on the lawns of the racecourse. "Jewellery and a fillies only race is a perfect match. We hope to bring the best of racing and entertainment to our patrons on Sunday," said Vivek Jain, the chairman of the Royal Western India Turf Club. Another attraction would be the live telecast of races on ET NOW from 2.30 to 5.30 PM. The Indian 1000 Guineas will be run at 5 p.m.
