Unrelentingly high- profile as he may be, but you’ve got to hand it to Vivek Jain for putting the glamour back in racing and making the Race Course one of the most happening venues in town.. “This weekend not only the Turf Club, but the city gets to celebrate this iconic landmark of Mumbai — the Mahalaxmi Racecourse on its 130 anniversary.” And to announce this historic tryst with history, the club will kick off its birthday with a grand ‘ members only’ dinner this Saturday where an audio visual tracing the heritage of the property will be the appetizer before a grand logo unveiling ceremony to mark the occasion. “ The pièce de résistance will be the display of 45 images shot by ace photographer Raghu Rai and an exhibition of art works by British equine artist, Jeremy Houghton,” says Jain .
