Derby promotion in open bus

Mumbai: The RWITC will be taking a path breaking initiative to promote Sunday’s Indian Derby across the city on Thursday and Friday.
Around 20-odd jockeys, waving the flags of the club and that of the sponsors, Mc-Dowell, will travel across the city on an open bus, starting from Wadala and moving to Marine Drive for maximum visibility.
The idea is to let people know about the upcoming race – considered the most sought after prize in Indian racing. The bus ride is expected to start from 1 pm.
“For the first time ever, a new promotional idea is being tried to promote the Derby. I noticed this in the lead up to the world famous Melbourne Cup in Australia, and it was an idea that was worth replicating here,” said RWITC chairman Vivek Jain.
