Hi readers,
I believe a public tipster should be judged by what he says before the race—and with how much conviction, and whether the results reflect those opinions to be true in a reasonable percentage of races.
The only way to do that with transparency is to keep records. There is no substitute for accountability.
A step has been taken in this direction with regard to this tipping column, and you can now see a link on the right hand side on the home page of this site, titled, "The Prakash Gosavi Column", which will take you to the archives of all articles written by me for each race day.
Please feel free to send your feedback using the bottom link in the same column.

==================================================
That's what I wrote on December 1, 2011, the day I started recommending bets in this column.
And now, two years—and four seasons—later, and especially when I will be embarking on the last leg of this journey when the Mahalaxmi season begins next month, it is only fair to look back and review the performance.
I still vividly remember that day in October 2011 when, in the weighing room at Pune, Mr Vivek Jain asked me if I could conceive and contribute something unique for the club's website which was recently revamped.
"Give us something that will create value for the website," he had said.
After much thought, I came up with the idea of a tipping column which I thought would be unique in the sense it would keep track of all recommended bets by archiving every word of every piece that would be written, so that the performance can be judged in the cold light of facts, and not fiction that human memory tends to always put forward in its defence.
An auditing approach to tipping was certainly not new, but definitely rare—at least in our country, where almost 99 percent followers of the sport strongly believe it is impossible to beat this game, at least over a period of time.
Thanks to your feedback, suggestions and absolutely phenomenal following which kept a lazy man like me always on the toes, I am pleased to inform that this column has managed to show consistent profit on recommended bets season after season, including this (Pune 2013) season.
I take this opportunity to thank all of you for your love and support.
I also thank the RWITC management for giving me complete freedom to write without compromising my writing style—they in fact handed me the admin control of the column—what trust!
I am told this may be some sort of a world record that a tipping column on a race club's official website has managed to show sizable profit on recommended bets season after season and year after year.
I don't know about it—and I don't care.
All I care for is that it was a great journey—exciting as well as challenging—and I enjoyed it every bit along the way. I hope, you did too.
Wishing you the very best and a very happy Deepawali,
Prakash Gosavi
