RWITC Season to Start on Schedule
A light spell of rain on Tuesday evening created fresh doubts on the scheduled start of the Mumbai season with enquiries from across the fraternity on the status.
Thankfully the heavy drizzle faded away in a few hours and bright sunshine on Wednesday has ensured the stable areas were not affected by Tuesday’s rain.
The request from the Western India Trainers’ Association (WITA) to run the first two days of the season at Pune was rejected by the Committee and the trainers have been informed to begin movement of the first day runners from Thursday. The season hence, will start as scheduled.
As less than 100 horses are expected to run on the opening day, they could be accommodated in the second and third line of the stables which are ready for occupation.
The season opening press conference, a tradition of the Club for the past few years will be held at a new venue- The RWITC Club House on Thursday, November 11th at 7pm, which will feature the highlights of the season and a Q&A with the press with light entertainment adding to the ambience.
