THE YOUNG PRESIDENTS’ ORGANISATION (YPO)
The RWITC takes great pleasure in welcoming members of The Young Presidents’ Organisation (YPO) to the races on Sunday, and thank the Organisation for their magnanimous contribution for The YPO Trophy.
YPO is an international organization which was founded in 1950, with its Head Office in Texas. YPO is an alliance of more than 9000 CEOs from over 70 countries, committed to the development of “Better Leaders through Education and Idea Exchange”.
The first YPO Chapter in India was started in Bombay (now Mumbai) in 1978 with 7-8 members. Later, Chapters were started in Delhi, Madras, Calcutta and Bangalore. The Bombay Chapter has a membership of 145 members – to name a few – the Ambanis, Piramals, Bajajs, Ruias. India’s most premier, successful and prominent young industrialists, entrepreneurs and professionals are YPO’ers.
YPO fosters continual improvement of members’ business enterprises in their personal and family lives and in their community responsibilities. Many world leaders, prominent citizens and personalities from different parts of the world and different walks of life have addressed YPO’ers. In India, we have had the privilege to dialogue and interact with renowned personalities like His Holiness The Dalai Lama, Deepak Chopra, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Nandan Nilekani , Andre Agassi , Joel Stern, Vidya Balan, Shri Narendra Modi , Saina Nehwal ,Salman Khurshid,Dr S Y Quraishi, Brajesh Mishra, Gen. Ved Prakash Malik, Dr. R.A. Mashelkar, Jaswant Singh, Madhvendra Singh, Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar, Azim Premji, Chandrababu Naidu, to name a few. These are closed door sessions, restricted exclusively to YPO members and their spouses, and not to the general public or Press.
