Richard Hughes' unconditional apology to RWITC Stewards

Jockey Richard Hughes was suspended by the RWITC Stewards from March 11, 2012 to April 29, 2012  (total 50 days) for not following the trainers’ instructions on his mount Jacqueline Smile February 16, 2012.

Subsequent to this decision, Hughes had made indiscriminate remarks against the Stewards racing in Mumbai both on social media networks and in his autobiography ‘A Weight Off My Mind’. His appeal at the British Horse Racing Authority for not reciprocating the punishment was also turned down.
 
Jockey Hughes had applied to ride in Western India for the Mumbai Meeting 2012/2013, and the Stewards decided that the application would only be considered if he tendered an unequivocal apology.
