PUNE MEETING 2022, FIRST DAY, THURSDAY, 28TH JULY, 2022.
(PENETROMETER: 4.4 (LONGCHAMP METHOD); GOING: GOOD)
RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION FROM 1400 METRES TO 1200 METRES, 3 METRES WIDE AT 1000 METRES, 4 METRES WIDE AT 800 METRES, 5 METRES WIDE AT 600 METRES AND THEREAFTER 6 METRES WIDE UPTO THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE PLACED 4 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.
On a request from Trainer Altaf Hussain, permission was granted to Trainer Rehanullah Khan to saddle his charge MY PRINCESS in the 3rd race, SULTAN SULEIMAN in the 4th race, EXCLUSIVE in the 5th race and MAGILETO in the 6th race at his own (Trainer Altaf Hussain’s) risk and responsibility.
RACE NO.1(1) – THE BEYOND EXPECTATION PLATE - DIVISION II: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 12
At the request of Trainer Faisal Abbas his charge RED DUST was examined on 26/07/2022 by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to have injury on the left side of the tongue with a broken 1st molar tooth as such the filly was withdrawn on veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
At the start, CAPRIFLA (A. Sandesh, dr.9) jump inwards thereby brushing the gates and lost its stride.
At the start, SILENT KNIGHT (R. Shelar, dr.2) jumped outwards at the same time HISTORIC (S. Zervan, dr.4) jumped inwards thereby bumping and tightening TAIL EVENT (S. G. Prasad, dr.3) drawn between them. Thereafter, TOUSSAINT (M. Ayyar) shifted in thereby bumping and forcing HISTORIC (S. Zervan) inwards due to which TAIL EVENT was further tightened and made contact with SILENT KNIGHT and drop back. After questioning all concerned Jockeys R. Shelar, S. Zervan and M. Ayyar have been cautioned.
Soon after the start, ANOUSHKA (Amyn Merchant) shifted in and made contact with AME (Prashant P. Dhebe) who had to be steadied.
Approaching the 350 Metres, it was observed that Jockey S. Sunil rider of TOOFAAN had used the whip in an improper manner. As such Jockey S. Sunil has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Approaching the 300 metres, NUSRAT (K. Nazil) shifted out under the use of whip at the same time TOOFAAN (S. Sunil) leaned inwards. As such, Jockey K. Nazil has been severely reprimanded.
In the final stages of the race, Jockey Amyn Merchant (ANOUSHKA) was observed to have used the whip in an improper manner. As such, Jockey Amyn Merchant has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
After the race, C’EST L’AMOUR was trotted and found to be sound and ANOUSHKA had a gum injury.
After the race, TOOFAAN was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(2) – AUSTRALIAN RACING ON PLAY.RWITC.COM PLATE - DIVISION II: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 8
REMUS (A. Sandesh) planted in the stall taking no practical part in a race. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.
FORTUNE TELLER (App. A. Prakash, dr.5) reared up as the start was effected due to which the gelding lost about 2 lengths at the start.
At the start, SON OF A GUN (P. Trevor, dr.4) jumped out awkwardly brushing the gates due to which Jockey P. Trevor lost his left stirrup which he regained shortly.
After the race, App. Jockey A. Prakash rider of FORTUNE TELLER reported loss of whip at about 500 metres. This being his first instance during the current Pune Meeting 2022, no action has been initiated.
Approaching the 200 metres, CELLINI (P. Shinde) shifted out and at the same time FAST RAIN (N. S. Parmar) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing SON OF A GUN (P. Trevor) who had to be checked. After questioning all concerned App. P. Shinde and Jockey N. S. Parmar have been fined Rs.3,000/- each.
Approaching the 150 metres, Jockey Akash Agarwal (EXCELLENT GOLD) was observed to have dismounted however since he failed to report he was questioned at which time he stated his mount had wobbled hence he found safe to dismount. The gelding was subjected to Veterinary examination and was reported to be sound. Jockey Akash Agarwal has been fined Rs.2,000/- for failing to report.
After the race, the Sr. V.O. reported that FAST RAIN was found to be in distress in the paddock, subsequently appeared better and sent to the stables in ambulance after the last race.
RACE NO.3(3) – THE D. K. ASHISH TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 8
On the way to the start, DUFY (P. Trevor) dislodged its rider at between 300 metres and 500 metres and was apprehended near 200 metres.
KIMIKO (Bhawani Singh) jumped out slowly losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
MY NAME IS TRINITY (S. G. Prasad) jumped out slowly losing about a length at the start thereafter
trailed the field. As such, Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi has been asked to ensure that his charge puts up a reasonable performance in the future.
RACE NO.4(4) – THE GAMBLE FOR LOVE TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres –Runners- 10
Approaching the 1000 metres, VICTORIOUS SERMON (A. Sandesh) shifted in and went across ST. ANDREWS (P. Shinde) who had to be checked and dropped back. As such, Jockey A. Sandesh has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
After the race, SULTAN SULEIMAN was trotted and found to be sound, GRAND ACCORD was observed to have lost right fore shoe and JOAQUIN was observed to have injury on left hind tendon.
RACE NO.5(5) – AUSTRALIAN RACING ON PLAY.RWITC.COM PLATE - DIVISION I: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 9
At the start, RAFFAELLO (A. Sandesh, dr.4) jumped inwards and made contact with RED MERLOT (Dashrath Singh, dr.3).
Soon after the start, DESERT FIRE (App. M. S. Deora) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing RAFFAELLO (A. Sandesh) who had to be checked. As such App. Jockey M. S. Deora has been fined Rs.2,000/-
Approaching 150 metres, RED MERLOT (Dashrath Singh) leaned inwards onto SUPERLEGGERA (S. Zervan).
After the race, EXCLUSIVE and THE AWAKENING were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(6) – THE TRUEFITT & HILL TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 14
DRAGONESS (D. S. Daman) took an awkward jump thereby losing considerable grounds at the start. In view of the above and a similar behavior of the filly in her last start, Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and to be shown in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.
CHAMPERS ON ICE (S. Mosin) jumped and veered outwards thereby losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, SOVEREIGN MASTER (R. Shelar, dr.1) jumped outwards and made contact with POWER OF NEATH (App. Haridas Gore, dr.2) who in turned shifted onto HILMA KLINT (App. M. S. Deora).
At the start MYRCELLA (S. Zervan, dr.6) jumped out awkwardly brushing the gates.
At the start ENLIGHTENED (App. P. Shinde, dr.10) jumped inwards and made contact with MYSTICAL ROSE (App. A. Prakash, dr.9).
Approaching 800 metres, HILMA KLINT (App. M. S. Deora) shifted out and made contact with ENLIGHTENED (App. P. Shinde).
It was observed that App. Jockey M. S. Deora (HILMA KLINT) had used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Pune Meeting 2022, as such he has been fined Rs.3,000/-
After the race, DRAGONESS was observed to have cut injury on tongue.
RACE NO.7(7) – THE BEYOND EXPECTATION PLATE - DIVISION I: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 12
On the arrival at the start at the request of Jockey D. A. Naik (JUICED) the saddle on his mount was adjusted.
At the start, SKY HAWK (R. Rupesh, dr.4) jumped inwards thereby starting a chain reaction JUICED (D. A. Naik, dr.3) shied inwards and went across TRISTAR (App. M. S. Deora, dr.2) who was marginally slow to begin
At the start DEMETRIUS (App. P. Vinod, dr.7) jumped outwards at the same time JACK BAUER (Amyn Merchant, dr.8) jumped inwards and made contact.
At the start, CIPHER (App. A. Prakash, dr.10) jumped inwards and made contact with CUPIDO (K. Nazil, dr.9) who was marginally slow to begin thereafter CIPHER further shifted at the same time JACK BAUER (Amyn Merchant) leaned outwards and they made contact.
Passing the 900 metres CIPHER (App. A. Prakash) shifted in thereby forcing DEMETRIUS (App. P. Vinod) inwards onto JUICED (D. A. Naik) causing the later to be checked.
Passing the 400 Metres CIPHER (App. A. Prakash) shifted out on to JUICED (D. A. Naik) who had to be steadied. App. Jockey A. Prakash has been cautioned.
It was observed that passing the 200 metres, BRILLIANT LIGHT (App. Haridas Gore) veered out thereby colliding with the outer hedge. After the race, App. Haridas Gore reported that the saddle on his mount had slipped during the race he further reported that his mount hung out throughout the race and veered out in the straight. As such Trainer Imtiaz Sait has been fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty saddling, this being the first instance during the current Pune Meeting 2022. Also considering the erratic behavior of the filly Trainer Imtiaz A Sait has been asked to show the filly in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards before next accepting to race.
Approaching the 200 metres JUICED (D. A. Naik) shifted out under the use of whip and made contact with DEMETRIUS (App. P. Vinod). Jockey D. A. Naik has been cautioned.
In the final stages of the race, App. Jockey A. Prakash (CIPHER) shifted in under urgings and bumped BEEMER (A. Sandesh) who had to steadied. After questioning App. A. Prakash and not being satisfied with his explanation his Jockey’s Licence has been suspended for 2 race days i.e. w.e.f. 21st August 2022 to 27th August 2022 for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race) (Both days inclusive).
After the race, CUPIDO was trotted at the stables and found to be sound and BRILLIANT LIGHT was observed to have injury inside left stifle.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd & 5th race, viz. FAST RAIN & BABY BAZOOKA, and the special sample of TAIL EVENT (1st race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
