RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE), LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 5 METRES AWAY UPTO THE WINNING POST.
FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.
RACE NO.1(54) – THE PLAY.RWITC.COM PLATE - DIVISION II: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 12
BRILLIANT LIGHT (R. Shelar, dr.11) jumped and veered outwards at the start and had to be steadied.
At the start BRILLIANT LIGHT (R Shelar, dr.11) jumped outwards throwing its head.
Passing the 900 metres due to a tightly packed field, DIVINE SOUL (K. Nazil) dropped back as a result inconveniencing TURMERIC TOWER (App. P. S. Kaviraj).
After the race, SAFDAR was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, CHASTITY and ACCENTURE were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(55) – THE NOBLE PRINCE PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 13
At the request of Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait, PRINCESS OF NAPLES was examined in the stable area at 9.30 p.m. on 21/01/2022 and was observed to have tendinitis on right fore. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
DALASAN (M. Ayyar, dr.5) whipped around after the start. Trainer S. Waheed has been asked to show his charge in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.
Soon after the start BEASTIA (Bhawani Singh, dr.11) was observed to have lost her footing and stumbled.
Jockey N. S. Parmar (BRAZOS) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2021/22, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
After the race, BRAVE EAGLE was found to be sore by the right fore. As such, for further investigation and treatment the gelding evacuated to Equine Hospital and also found to have cut injury on right hind fetlock. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, FAIRMONT and CHARMING STAR were trotted and found to be sound, BEASTIA was observed to have lost left fore shoe.
RACE NO.3(56) – THE Y. M. CHAUDHRY MEMORIAL TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 4
Passing the 900 metres, HIDDEN GOLD (App. P. Vinod) leaned inwards due to which JOAQUIN (H. Zeehan) shied in onto AEGON (C. S. Jodha) who had to be steadied. App P Vinod has been cautioned.
Passing the 250 metres SHARAREH (App. A. S. Peter) leaned inwards and made contact with AEGON (C. S. Jodha). After the race, App. A. S. Peter reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting race.
Passing the 100 metres, AEGON (C. S. Jodha) shifted in and went onto HIDDEN GOLD (App. P. Vinod) who had to be steadied. Jockey C. S. Jodha has been cautioned.
RACE NO.4(57) – THE JEHANGIR P. DUBASH TROPHY - DIVISION II: (About) 1400 Metres –Runners- 10
At the start, RISING BRAVE (Shahrukh Khan, dr.6) jumped inwards and made contact with GILT EDGE (App. A. Prakash, dr.5).
At the start, POWER OF BLESSINGS (Akshay Gaikwad, dr.4) jumped inwards and at the same time HAWK EYE (Bhawani Singh, dr.2) jumped outwards thereby tightening DREAMS (N. S. Parmar, dr.3) who was marginally slow to begin.
Approaching the 1000 metres, due to a tightly packed field DREAMS (N. S. Parmar) had to be steadied.
Passing the 350 metres, WINTER STORM (App. A. S. Peter) shifted out under the whip and carried ON VA DANSER (App. P. S. Kaviraj) outwards thereafter in the final stages of the race WINTER STORM (App. A. S. Peter) shifted in under urgings and went across DREAMS (N. S. Parmar) causing the letter to be checked. After questioning, App. A. S. Peter has been suspended for one race day i.e. Sunday, 13th February 2022 (permitted to ride work/mock race).
After the race, Jockey A. Imran Khan reported that his mount SERGIO hung-in in the straight despite his efforts. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, GILT EDGE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, RISING BRAVE was found to be sore by the left fore. The horse has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, SERGIO was trotted and found to be sound.
After the race, DREAMS had a cut injury on left nostril, POWER OF BLESSINGS had an abrasion above left hock and WINTER STORM had a cut injury on both hind bulb of heel.
RACE NO.5(58) – THE CHANGE OF LUCK PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 6
FLAMING FAMOUS (Bhawani Singh) jumped out slowly losing about 2 lengths at the start.
After the race, Jockey Bhawani Singh (FLASHING FAMOUS) reported that his mount was running green.
After the race, BALENCIAGA was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(59) – THE SONNY BRAR TROPHY: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 8
Passing the 1600 metres, MANDEVILLE (P S Chouhan) leaned inwards due to which FLAMING LAMBORGINI (A. Sandesh) shied in and went onto SUN GOLD (App. Kritish Bhagat) who had to be steadied. Jockey P S Chouhan has been cautioned.
Passing the 400 metres, SUN GOLD (App. Kritish Bhagat) was observed to have drifted out despite which the rider persisted with the whip from the right thereby aggravating the outward movement also App Kirtish Bhagat was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2021/22, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
Passing the 300 metres, WAYIN (Bhawani Singh), CIRCLE OF LOVE (C. S. Jodha) and FLAMING LAMBORGINI (A. Sandesh) were racing abreast in close proximity and were observed to have jostled. Thereafter WAYIN (Bhawani Singh) leaned inwards onto CIRCLE OF LOVE (C. S. Jodha) who had to be steadied. Jockey Bhawani Singh has been cautioned.
Passing the 150 metres, FLAMING LAMBORGINI (A. Sandesh) shifted out and made contact with CIRCLE OF LOVE (C. S. Jodha) forcing its outwards. Jockey A. Sandesh has been cautioned.
After the race, MISHKA’S PRIDE was found to be sore by the right fore. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, SUN GOLD was trotted and found to be sound but had a cut injury on left hind pastern and right hind ergot.

RACE NO.8(61) – THE JEHANGIR P. DUBASH TROPHY - DIVISION I: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 10
VINCENZO (App. Kirtish Bhagat, dr.10) jumped out slowly losing about 2 lengths at the start.
Passing the 700 Metres SANDMAN shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing FASSBINDER.Jockey A Imran Khan has been cautioned.
Passing the 600 Metres, VINCENZO (App. Kirtish Bhagat) shifted in and made contact with FASSBINDER (Akshay) who had to be checked. App. Kirtish Bhagat has been cautioned.
Passing the 300 Metres SANDMAN shifted out and went across FASSBINDER.
After the race Jockey Dashrath Singh reported that his mount BOLD ADVANCE was not galloping freely. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures.
After the race, SANDMAN was found to be sore by the left fore and was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, RON was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, BOLD ADVANCE and LIGHTNINGONMYFEET were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.9(62) – THE PLAY.RWITC.COM PLATE - DIVISION I: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 13
At the start, AME (Vikram Walkar, dr.5) jumped inwards onto ROYAL CROWN (App. A. K. Aniket, dr.4).
Soon after the start, ANOINTED (T. S. Jodha) was observed to have veered out and had to be steadied thereby losing considerable ground at the start. In view of above and a similar behavior of the gelding in his last outing Trainer Nazzak B Chenoy has been asked to show the gelding in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards before next accepting to race.
Passing the 250 Meters, REMY RED (Dashrath Singh) shifted in and made contact with MYRCELLA (App. P. S. Kaviraj). Further it was observed that Jockey Dashrath Singh (REMY RED) had used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. After the race, Jockey Dashrath Singh reported that his mount hung-in and he had used the whip as a corrective measure as such no action was initiated against the Jockey however Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race
NEXT STOP THE MOON, LA PETIE MAISON and ANOINTED were observed to have run detached from the field. Trainers Imtiaz A Sait, Vinesh & Ms Nazzak B Chenoy have been asked to ensure that their charge puts up a reasonable performance in the future.

The urine samples of the THE BAWAJI (winner – 6th race), LAGARDE (2nd place – 7th race), APSARA STAR (3rd place – 7th race), RAMBLER (winner – 8th race), and the special samples of BALENCIAGA (5th race) & SANDMAN (8th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
The urine and blood sample of the THEON (winner – 7th race), was collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORT:
RE: GALLOPING ON INNER GRASS TRACK:
On a report that on 17th January 2022, Jockey A. Imran Khan had galloped BRAVE EAGLE on the inner portion of the grass track instead of the outer portion.
As such, he has been fined Rs.2,000/- for the laps on his part and repetition of a similar offence will be reported to the Stewards of the Club for such action as they deemed fit.
RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE IMPROVED PERFORMANCE OF “UNTITLED” (DRAWN 6) (DIST. 1000 MTRS.) IN RACE NO. 36 RUN ON 7TH JANUARY 2022 WHERE IT WON AS COMPARED TO ITS PREVIOUS RUN IN RACE NO. 19 (DRAWN 10) (DIST. 1000 MTRS.) RUN ON 23RD DECEMBER 2021 WHERE IT WAS UNPLACED :
In connection with the captioned matter the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 23rd January, 2022 heard Jockey D R Shubham and Trainer H.J.Antia and having viewed the video of the races in question i.e. race no.19 & 36.The Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey D R Shubham as also Trainer H.J.Antia and held Jockey D R Shubham guilty of “indifferent riding” on UNTITLED in Race No.19. In that it was noted that despite the poor start Jockey D R Shubham had all the opportunity to improve his position however, he had made no effort to do so due to which the gelding was positioned at the backend of the field contrary to the running pattern in race no 36 where the gelding won. Further the Stewards also took exception to his riding efforts in the straight as the same were found wanting in race no.19. Therefore, the Stewards decided to suspend his Jockey’s licence from 13th February, 2022 to 20th February, 2022 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work/mock race).
RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE IMPROVED PERFORMANCE OF “UNTITLED” (DRAWN 6) (DIST. 1000 MTRS.) IN RACE NO. 36 RUN ON 7TH JANUARY 2022 WHERE IT WON AS COMPARED TO ITS PREVIOUS RUN IN RACE NO. 19 (DRAWN 10) (DIST. 1000 MTRS.) RUN ON 23RD DECEMBER 2021 WHERE IT WAS UNPLACED :
In connection with the captioned matter the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 23rd January, 2022. The Stewards considered all the papers and proceedings before them and heard the submissions made by Trainer H J Antia and Jockey D.R. Shubham. Having deliberated the matter at length, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Trainer H J Antia and held him guilty of inconsistent running / improved performance of his charge UNTITLED in a short span of time.
In that,
i) The pattern of running of horse UNTITLED was different in both the races, i.e. Race No.19 the gelding was settled at the backend of the field and ran unplaced. Thereafter, in Race No.36 the gelding went to the front and won the race.
ii) The gelding had raced in a span of 15 days and had shown a vast improvement of about (9 lengths from LAGERTHA, 15 lengths from WILD FIRE & 12 lengths from SPARKLING GLORY) all three common horses in Race No. 19;
iii) In Race No. 19, the eventual winner was a stable mate DILBAR and the comparative odds were DILBAR opened at 7/1 and backed down to 5/1 whereas UNTITLED opened 15/1 and drifted to 30/1;
iv) In Race No. 36 where the gelding won, the opening odds were 8/1 and got backed down to 6/1;
The Stewards also noted his past record wherein action was initiated against him several times for similar offences of Improved/Comparative performance of his horses and keeping in mind the betting trend of both the races, the Stewards of the Club decided to fine Trainer H J Antia a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- for the improved performance of his charge UNTITLED in Race No.36 run on 7th January, 2022 as compared to its previous run in Race No.19 run on 23rd December, 2021.
RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “SUSSING” (DRAWN 10) IN RACE NO. 37 – THE TASAWWUR PLATE (DIV.II) (DIST. 1600 MTRS.) RUN ON 7TH JANUARY 2022 :
In connection with the captioned matter the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 23rd January, 2022. The Stewards considered all the papers and proceedings before them and heard the submissions made by Jockey D R Shubham and Trainer H.J. Antia. Having deliberated the matter at length, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey D R Shubham and held him guilty of“unsatisfactory riding” on SUSSING. In that, when he entered the straight, he was not vigorous and his riding was found wanting thus depriving his mount the chance to obtain the best possible placing in the race. The Stewards noted that since his Jockey’s license already stands suspended w.e.f. 13th February, 2022 to 20thFebruary, 2022 for indifferent riding on UNTITLED. Therefore, his Jockey’s license will stand further suspended with effect from 27th February, 2022 to 20th March, 2022 (both days inclusive) for unsatisfactory riding on SUSSING in Race No.37 (permitted to ride work/mock race).
RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “SUSSING” (DRAWN 10) IN RACE NO. 37– THE TASAWWUR PLATE (DIV.II) (DIST. 1600 MTRS.) RUN ON 7TH JANUARY 2022 :
In connection with the captioned matter the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 23rd January, 2022. The Stewards considered all the papers and proceedings before them and heard the submissions made by Trainer H J Antia and Jockey D.R. Shubham. Having deliberated the matter at length, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Trainer H J Antia and held him guilty of unsatisfactory running of his charge SUSSING. In that, the Stewards relying on their own observation of the race in conjunction with the Stipendiary Stewards note in connection with captioned matter vis-à-vis the submissions made by him in his defense, were in agreement with the findings of the Stipendiary Stewards and were of the opinion that Jockey D.R.Shubham would not have ridden in the manner he did without Trainer H J Antia approval thus depriving his charge the chance to obtain the best possible placing in the race.
The Stewards having taken an overall view with regards to the running and riding of his horses in the past, were of the strong view that despite severe disciplinary action taken against him , the same has not deterred him from transgressing the Rules of Racing & Calendar Notifications repeatedly therefore, decided to suspend his Trainer’s licence from 7th February 2022 to 8th March 2022 and also to fine him a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- for unsatisfactory running of his charge SUSSING in Race No.37 run on 7th January, 2022.
