RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED 4 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 8 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 9 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.
FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.
On a request from Trainer Shazaan Shah, permission was granted to Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi to saddle his charge SPIRIT BAY in the 1st race and RAMBLER in the 4th race, at his own (Trainer Shazaan Shah’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(15) – THE FREE RADICAL PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 11
SPIRIT BAY (H. Zeeshan, dr.10) jumped out throwing its head.
At the start, CAPRIFLA (Dashrath Singh, dr.2) jumped inwards and made contact with FIDATO (A. Imran Khan, dr.1).
Passing the 300 metres, KEY TO THE MINT (N. S. Parmar) shifted in thereby tightening SAN SALVATORE (S. Zervan) who had to be steadied. After the race, on questioning Jockey N. S. Parmar stated that his mount hung-in. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
The Sr. V.O. reported that SAN SALVATORE was declared to run without bandages but ran with bandages on both fore. Trainer Altamaash A. Ahmed has been fined Rs.1,000/- for his lapse.
After the race, PERFECT MAN was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, KEY TO THE MINT was observed to have lost its right hind shoe and had a cut injury on right hind pastern.
After the race, CHERISHED was observed to have a cut injury on left hind hock.
RACE NO.2(16) – THE WELCOME CUP: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 6
At the start, PEGASO (S. Mosin, dr.4) jumped outwards onto HOOVES OF THUNDER (A. Sandesh, dr.5).
After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh reported that his mount HOOVES OF THUNDER was running green.
RACE NO.3(17) – THE ROYAL CALCUTTA TURF CLUB CUP: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 9
At the start, SILVER FLAMES (A. Imran Khan, dr.2) jumped outwards thereby starting a chain reaction due to which HIDDEN GOLD (N. S. Parmar, dr.3), GAZINO (App. A. S. Peter, dr.4) & AUGUSTUS CAESAR (Neeraj Rawal, dr.5), were inconvenienced.
Passing the 400 metres, SILVER FLAMES (A. Imran Khan) shifted out thereby tightening GAZINO (App. A. S. Peter) who had to be checked. After questioning, Jockey A. Imran Khan has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
After the race, App. A. S. Peter (GAZINO) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer Nosher Cama has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race. Further App. A. S. Peter was questioned with regard to his riding style in the final stages of the race and not being satisfied with his explanation. As such, he has been referred back to the riding instructor to improve his riding skills.
After the race, MYSTIC BAY was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
RACE NO.4(18) – THE GODSPEED PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres –Runners- 7
At the start, THE AWAKENING (Neeraj Rawal, dr.3) jumped inwards and made contact with NORTHERN LIGHTS (P. S. Chouhan, dr.2).
After the race, VINCENZO was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.5(19) – THE QUEST FOR CASH PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 14
At the start, UNTITLED (D. R. Shubham, dr.10) jumped outwards throwing its head up and made contact with MAGIC IN THE WIND (N. S. Parmar, dr.11) who had to be checked.
At the start, WILD FIRE (App. Aniket Karande, dr.5) jumped outwards and brushed the haunches of SLAM DUNK (H. Zeeshan, dr.6) and thereafter shifted in and went across TURMERIC TOWER (N. Nadeem, dr.4) who had to be steadied.
Passing the 800 metres, DILBAR (S. A. Amit) shifted in and went across IMPERMANENCE (A. Imran Khan) causing the latter to be checked. After questioning, Jockey S. A. Amit has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Passing the 100 metres, TURMERIC TOWER (N. Nadeem) went across IMPERMANENCE (A. Imran Khan) who had to be steadied. Jockey N. Nadeem has been cautioned.
After the race, BELENUS was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, DILBAR had an abrasion on left hock.
After the race, C’EST L’AMOUR was trotted and found to be sound.
After the race, TURMERIC TOWER had a cut injury on left hind pastern.
RACE NO.6(20) – THE RUNNING STAR PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 9
Passing the 1000 metres, MIDAS TOUCH (Bhawani Singh) shifted in and went across LOVE WARRIOR (Neeraj Rawal) causing the latter to be checked. Jockey Bhawani Singh has been cautioned.
Passing the 250 metres, HYPERDIMENSIONAL (N. S. Parmar) weakened and dropped back due to which SUNLORD (P. S. Chouhan) racing on its haunches was held up for room and had to be checked.
Passing the 250 metres, RAFFAELLO (A. Imran Khan) leaned inwards thereby inconveniencing FASSBINDER (S. Zervan). After the race on questioning, Jockey A. Imran Khan stated that his mount leaned-in despite his efforts, not being satisfied with his explanation. As such he has been asked to be more cautious in the future.
RACE NO.7(21) – THE SECRET HALO PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 14
In the process of stalling, Jockey N. S. Parmar rider of HELLBENT reported that his iron stirrup had broken and was left unserviceable. Since the field was ready to dispatch the gelding was withdrawn before coming under the starter’s order.
DEMETRIUS (S. Zervan, dr.12) was reluctant to stall. Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter in morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, WHISPERING QUEEN (Raghuveer Singh, dr.3) jumped inwards and made contact with NOBLE LORD (A. Imran Khan, dr.2).
Jockey S. Zervan (DEMETRIUS) was observed to have used the whip from the right despite his mount shifting out. After questioning, Jockey S. Zervan has been cautioned.
In the straight, BLOOMSBURY (App. Aniket Karande) was observed to have drifted out under urgings. After questioning, App. Aniket Karande has been cautioned for failing to maintain a straight course.
Between 300 to 400 metres mark, MAGICAL JOURNEY was found to be sore by the left fore leg and could not finish the race, filly was medicated at sampling yard and evacuated to the equine hospital. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

The urine samples of the winners of the race 1st & 4th, viz. SAN SALVATORE & PRIDE’S ANGEL, and the special sample of MYSTIC BAY (3rd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORT:
It was observed that Jockey Neeraj Rawal is repeatedly weighing out late despite being informed several times, as a result of which causing delay. In view of the lapse, he has been fined Rs.1,000/- and cautioned for the future.
