Dangerous, trained by Adhirajsingh, won the Eve Champion Trophy (Gr 3), the feature event of Saturday's seven-race card. Jockey PS Chouhan astride Dangerous settled her in mid-bunch asking her to go for it, turning for home. Dangerous lengthened her strides to seal the fate of the race, and held on well from the fast-finishing stable-mate Dyf (Akshay Kumar up).
Trainer Adhirajsingh finished a quick double in the very next race by saddling Hall Of Grace who, despite bleeding, ran away from her dozen rivals in the 1,400m August Handicap in the hands of 5-kg claimer apprentice jockey Gagandeep Mann.
Roaring rookies
In fact, the day had begun with rookie riders dominating the finish in the first three races. AK Aniket gave a confident ride to Zukor in the opening event, the Columbiana Plate, justifying the faith the betting public reposed in the Faisal Abbas-trained five-year-old.
In the next race, another apprentice jockey, N Bhosale, showed exemplary patience on Come Back Please, trained by S N Joshi, who galloped from last to first in the final two furlongs of the Unicorn Plate (1,800m).
Mustakim Alam, claiming 2.5 kg allowance, then steered Daulat Mai to a fluent win in the To The Manor Born Plate for trainer Narendra Lagad.
Flaming Lamborgini returned to the winner's enclosure after exactly 18 months. CS Jodha gave the Imtiaz Sait-trained six-year-old a very vigorous ride in the Yana Plate.
Faisal Abbas, who had led in Zukor in the first race of the day, also sent out Fortune Teller (Amyn Merchant up) in the last race, the Cabriolet Plate, thus accomplishing a double.
