RACE DAY REPORT
RAILS WERE PLACED AT THEIR ORIGINAL POSITION FROM 2400 METRES TO 1000
METRES. THEREAFTER 2 METRES WIDE UP TO THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE PLACED 6
METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.
RACE NO.1 (90) – THE JANARDHAN SALVER : (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 7
On a request from Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi,
MA CHERIE was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 10:45 a.m. on 19th September
2026, at the stables and was found to have a painful swelling on its girth. As
such, the mare was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on
veterinary grounds.
At the start, LIGHTNING BLAZE (App. Avinash Paswan, dr.1) jumped
outwards thereby forcing BETWEEN FRIENDS (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.3) outwards
onto HOWLIN WOLF (N. S. Parmar, dr.4) causing the latter to be steadied.
Soon after the start, HOUSE OF LORDS (App. Ramswarup) shifted in
under urgings and went across WE STILL BELIEVE (K. Nazil) causing the latter to
check and change course, thereafter HOUSE OF LORDS further shifted in and went
across ETOILE (App. A. Omkar) and LIGHTNING BLAZE (App. Avinash Paswan) due to
this incident ETOILE racing on its haunches had to be checked. After
questioning and not being satisfied, App. Ramswarup has been fined Rs. 3,000/-,
for shifting in before the red marker.
Passing the 600 metres, BETWEEN FRIENDS (Prashant P. Dhebe) leaned
out at the same time HOWLIN WOLF (N. S. Parmar) shifted in thereby tightening
ETOILE (App. A. Omkar) for room. Jockeys Prashant P. Dhebe and N. S. Parmar
have been cautioned.
In the final stages of the race, WE STILL BELIEVE (K. Nazil)
racing between LIGHTNING BLAZE (App. Avinash Paswan) and BETWEEN FRIENDS
(Prashant P. Dhebe) was observed to be tightened for room and had to be
steadied. Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe and App. Avinash Paswan have been cautioned.
After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar (HOWLIN WOLF) reported that
his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. As such Trainer M. K.
Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, App. A. Omkar (ETOILE) reported that his mount was
not galloping fluently in the straight. The mare was subject to veterinary
examination and found to be sound.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
ETOILE was observed to have an injury on its left hind fetlock.
HOUSE OF LORDS was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2 (91) – THE S. S. SHAH SALVER : (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 5
Soon after the start, OPUS DEI (P. Trevor) was observed to have
lost its footing and stumble.
Approaching the 600 metres, SENECA (App. Ramswarup) leaned out
thereby carrying OPUS DEI (P. Trevor) outwards. App Ramswarup has been
cautioned.
After the race, App. Ramswarup (SENECA) reported that his mount
shifted in under pressure and went onto the railing causing the gelding to lose
its stride momentarily, the same was noted.
After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (OPUS DEI) reported that
approaching the 200 metres his mount took an awkward stride ,the same was
noted.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
OPUS DEI was trotted and found to be sound
DREAMER was observed to have an injury on its left hamstring.
RACE NO.3 (92) – THE B. K. LAGAD SALVER - DIVISION
II : (ABOUT) 1200 METRES –
RUNNERS - 10
QUEEN CAROLINE (S. G. Prasad dr.7) planted,
failed to raise an effective gallop thereby taking no practical part in the
race. In view of a similar behavior of the filly in the past, Trainer Aman
Altaf Hussain has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the
filly in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting
to race.
At the start, AEON FLUX (C. Umesh, dr.5) leaned
inwards onto ZEPHYR (Shrikant Kamble, dr.4) who was marginally slow to begin.
Approaching the 300 metres, NEUTRON (N. S.
Parmar) shifted out and went across ARBITRAGE (App. Haridas Gore) causing the
latter to be steadied. Jockey N. S. Parmar has been cautioned.
Approaching the 200 metres, ZEPHYR (Shrikant
Kamble) shifted in under pressure thereby carrying NEUTRON (N. S. Parmar). After
the race on questioning Jockey Shrikant Kamble stated that his mount hung-in in
the straight, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer P. S. Chouhan has been
asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, App. Vishal (SKY BOUND) reported
that his mount was shying away from the other horses in the early part of the
race. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures, before next
accepting to race.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
ARBITRAGE was observed to have an injury on its left hind fetlock.
NEUTRON, HIRANYAMAYEE & COMMANCHERO were trotted at the
stables and found to be sound.
The Equine Hospital reported
the following:
HIRANYAMAYEE sustained both eye
injuries (sore) and had an ulcer on its left eye.
RACE NO.4 (93) – THE SHAMU CHAVAN SALVER: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 6
After being stalled, SPANISH EYES (P. Trevor, dr.2) was fractious,
reared up and got his fore stuck on the front gate and subsequently in the adjacent
stall as well.Considering the impact on the gate, the mare was permitted to be
withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. As such, Trainer Dallas
Todywalla has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the
mare in two mock races to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next
accepting race.
After being stalled, RAMBLER (H. Zeeshan) was fractious. As such,
Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and
show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to
race.
At the start, DEDICATION (Neeraj Rawal, dr.5) jumped outwards and
made contact with DON JULIO (A. Sandesh, dr.6) causing the latter to be
steadied.
Approaching the 400 metres, STORM CLOUD (A. Prakash) shifted in
under pressure thereby bumping and tightening ESTEBAN (App. Avinash Paswan)
racing along the rails causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and
not being satisfied, Jockey A. Prakash has been fined Rs. 3,000/-.
Jockey A. Prakash (STORM CLOUD) was observed to have used the whip
in an improper manner approaching the 300 metres. This being his first offence
during the current Pune Meeting 2026, he has been fined Rs. 2,000/-.
The Equine Hospital reported
the following:
ESTEBAN sustained left eye
injury (sore) with ulcer.
RACE NO.5 (94) – THE UTTAM SINGH TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1800 METRES – RUNNERS - 9
TAJIRI (C. Umesh, dr.3) was
reluctant to be stalled. As such, Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to
give his charge more gate practice and show the mare to the satisfaction of the
Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, EXOTIC STAR (S.
Mosin, dr.8) jumped and carried ABSOLUTE SERENITY (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.9)
outwards, causing the latter to be steadied.
At the start, TAJIRI (C. Umesh,
dr.3) jumped outwards onto DAREDEVIL (Yash Narredu, dr.4), causing the latter
to check and change course.
Approaching the 1000 metres,
LAND OF PLENTY (Bhawani Singh) racing on the haunches of LOOKING LIKE A WOW
(App. Ramswarup) had to check and change course in order to avoid clipping the
front runner, and in the process bumped and inconvenienced FUNNY BUNNY (Antony
Raj S.), due to this incident DAREDEVIL (Yash Narredu) racing on the haunches
of LAND OF PLENTY was inconvenienced and had to check and change course.
Approaching the 200 metres,
LOOKING LIKE A WOW (App. Ramswarup) leaned in under pressure and went onto
MERCHANT OF VENICE (R. Ajinkya) causing the latter to be steadied. App.
Ramswarup has been cautioned.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
TAJIRI was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6 (95) – THE S. K. SUNDERJI SALVER: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS – 11
On a request from Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha,
SHIMMER was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 10:50 am on 20th September
2026, at the stables and was found to be sore by its right fore. As such, the
filly was certified unfit to race, was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary
grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
At the start, PURE SOUL (P. Trevor, dr.3) jumped
outwards at the same time POWEROFATTITUDE (App. Ramswarup, dr. 5) jumped
inwards thereby tightening BRITANIA (Vivek G. dr.4) drawn between them.
At the start, BAILEE (Antony Raj S., dr.10)
jumped inwards and made contact with DEAVLINE (App. N. Bhosale, dr.9) causing
the latter to be steadied.
Soon after the start, BAILEE (Antony Raj S.)
shifted out under urgings and went across MONEY SPINNER (R. Ajinkya) and FRENZY
(P. S. Kaviraj). Thereafter approaching the 1300 metres BAILEE shifted in and
went onto ROGUE (H. Zeeshan) who further shifted in thereby carrying NEW STAR
(Yash Narredu) inwards causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and
not being satisfied, Jockey Antony Raj S. has been fined Rs. 3,000/- for not
maintaining a straight course.
Soon after the start, FRENZY (P. S. Kaviraj)
shifted in under urgings and brushed the haunches of ACROBATIC (Neeraj Rawal).
Jockey P. S. Kaviraj has been cautioned.
In the final stages of the race, ROGUE (H.
Zeeshan) shifted out under the use of whip and went across BRITANIA (Vivek G.)
causing the latter to check and change course. Further it was observed that the
Jockey H. Zeeshan had failed to take corrective action and persisted with the
whip on the right. After questioning and not being satisfied with the
explanation tendered by Jockey H. Zeeshan, his Jockeys licence has been
suspended for one race day i.e. on 10th October 2026 (permitted to
ride work/mock race) for careless riding on his mount.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported
the following:
ACROBATIC was
examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore. As
such, the filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting
to race.
PURE SOUL was
trotted and found to be sound.
The Equine Hospital reported
the following:
ZUNIGA sustained left eye
injury with ulcer.
RACE NO.7 (96) – THE INDIAN ST. LEGER: (ABOUT) 2800 METRES – RUNNERS - 7
At the start, CACCINI (A. Sandesh, dr.3) jumped
inwards onto FYNBOS (Vivek G., dr.2) who further shifted in and went onto
MATISSE (A. Prakash, dr.1) causing the latter to be steadied.
Soon after the start, ANDRE (Antony Raj S.)
shifted in onto KINGS GAMBIT (Yash Narredu) who further shifted in and went
across CACCINI (A. Sandesh), causing the latter to be steadied.
Passing the 600 metres, FYNBOS (Vivek G.) shifted
in and went across ARRIVED (P. Trevor). Jockey Vivek G. has been cautioned.
In the final stages of the race RED BISHOP(
Neeraj Rawal ) leaned in thereby carrying FYNBOS(Vivek G.) inwards. Jockey
Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.
After the race, Jockey Yash Narredu (KINGS
GAMBIT) reported that his mount was inclined outwards throughout the race,
despite his efforts. As such, Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial
measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported
the following:
KINGS GAMBIT & FYNBOS were trotted and found
to be sound.
ANDRE was trotted at the stables and found to be
sound.
The Equine Hospital reported
the following:
KINGS GAMBIT sustained both eye
injuries (sore) & ulcer to the right eye.
RACE NO.8 (97) – THE B. K. LAGAD SALVER- DIVISION
I: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES –
RUNNERS - 10
On a request from Trainer M. Narredu,
HORIZON was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 12:00 noon, on 18th September
2026, at the stables and was found to be sore by left fore due to a nail
puncture in the hoof. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race, was
permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by
Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After being stalled, RAFAEL (App. Vishal, dr.9) was fractious. As
such, Trainer Nirad Karanjawala has been asked to give his charge more gate
practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning
starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, BELIEVE (R. Ajinkya, dr.7) jumped
inwards onto FLOYD (S. J. Sunil, dr.6) at the same time RAFAEL (App. Vishal,
dr.9) shifted in and went across ALEXANDRIA (Bhawani Singh dr.8) and went onto
BELIEVE who further shifted in and went onto FLOYD causing the latter to brush
the haunches of RIZZ (A. Sandersh, dr.5).
After the race, App. Vishal (RAFAEL) reported
that he lost both his stirrups soon after the start and was unable to ride out
his mount to full advantage. On subsequent examination of the saddle it was
found that the right stirrup buckle had come out. The same was noted and no
action has been initiated.
After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (RIZZ)
reported that his mount was running green and was inclined outwards in the
straight, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been
asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported
the following:
BELIEVE was observed to have an injury
on its right fore fetlock.
ALEXANDRIA was examined
by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore. As such, the
mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
The Equine Hospital reported
the following:
ALEXANDRIA sustained left eye
injury (sore) with ulcer.
RACE NO.9 (98) – THE NANA RAGHUNATH SALVER: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 8
Soon after the start, ASHWA ANKARA (App. S.
Siddharth) shifted in and went across GOLDEN HEART (App. Saurav Rawat) and
SOUTH BEACH (N. S. Parmar) causing the latter to be steadied. After questioning
and not being satisfied, App. S. Siddharth has been fined Rs. 2,000/-, for
shifting in before the red marker.
Approaching the 1200 metres, RED MERLOT (App.
Avinash Paswan) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing FLASHMAN
(App. A. Omkar) racing on its haunches causing the latter to check and change
course. After questioning and not being satisfied, App. Avinash Paswan has been
fined Rs. 3,000/-.
App. Avinash Paswan (RED MERLOT) has been fined
Rs.500/- for failing to wear his goggles during the race.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported
the following:
BEYOND STARS was observed to have lost its right hind shoe.
GIBSON KNOTT & SOUTH BEACH were trotted and found to be sound.
FAY was observed to have an injury on its left hind bulb of heel.

The urine
and blood samples of GOLD BAR (Winner – 3rd race), BISHOP
(Winner – 4th race), PURE SOUL (Winner - 6th race), RED
BISHOP (Winner – 7th race), FYNBOS (2nd place – 7th
race), ARRIVED (3rd place – 7th race), RIZZ (Winner – 8th
race) and the special samples of HOUSE OF LORDS (1st race) &
TAJIRI (5th race) were collected for detection of prohibited
substances.

RE: ENDOSCOPY OF MARCUS:
On a request
from Trainer Narendra Lagad, an endoscopy performed on MARCUS at the Equine
Hospital on 19th September 2026 and was observed to have EIPH
(Gr.III) and is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks.
As such, the gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next
accepting to race.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE POOR PERFORMANCE OF “NEUTRALIST” (DRAWN 6) IN
RACE NO.48 – THE WAVES OF GLORY PLATE (DIST. 1400 MTRS.) RUN ON 16TH AUGUST
2026 - TRAINER AMAN ALTAF HUSSAIN AND JOCKEY A. SANDESH:
In connection with the captioned subject matter, the Stewards of
the Club at their meeting held on 12th September 2026, having considered all
papers and proceedings before them, heard the submissions made by Trainer Aman
Altaf Hussain, Jockey A Sandesh, as also the Stipendiary Stewards, having
viewed the video recording of the race in question, it was noted with concern
that a senior Jockey cut pace with EARTH in that manner while the instructions
given to him were to hit the front or sit second. However, keeping the medical
history and other circumstances in mind. The Stewards noted the explanation
given by Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain and Jockey A. Sandesh and no action was
called for in the matter.

RE: CARELESS RIDING ON YOUR MOUNT “MAJESTIC WARRIOR” (DRAWN 5) RUN
IN RACE NO.3 – THE SEASON OPENER PLATE DIV.II – ON 17TH JULY 2026 – OBJECTION
RACE – JOCKEY J. CHINOY:
In connection with the captioned subject matter, the Stewards of
the Club at their meeting held on 12th September 2026, having heard the
submissions made by Jockey J. Chinoy, as also the Stipendiary Stewards, having
viewed the video recording of the race in question and having deliberated in
the matter at length. The Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation
tendered by Jockey J. Chinoy. In that, soon after the start he shifted out
under urgings thereby bumping and forcing CRIMSON PIRATE (D. R. Shubham)
outwards who further shifted out thereby bumping and inconveniencing FLASHMAN
(App. A. Omkar) and carried STARIA (P. Trevor) outwards. Therefore, it has been
decided to suspend Jockeys licence of Mr. J. Chinoy for four race days i.e. on
27th September, 2nd, 10th & 11th October 2026 (permitted to ride work/mock
race) for careless riding.

In connection with the captioned subject matter, the Stewards of
the Club at their meeting held on 12th September 2026, having considered all
papers and proceedings before them, heard the submissions made by Trainer P.
Shroff, Jockey Vivek G, as also the Stipendiary Stewards, having viewed the
video recording of the race in question and deliberated in the matter at
length. While no action was initiated in the matter, the Stewards by majority
severely cautioned Jockey Vivek G. that he ride more judiciously and gave him
the benefit of doubt because of his clean record.

RIDING OF “AVANTE” RUN IN RACE NO.85 - ON 13TH SEPTEMBER 2026 – APP RAMSWARUP
In
this connection,the Stipendiary Stewards informed App
Ramswarup that having heard him and his Master Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha,
having viewed the video recording of the race in question. The Stipendiary
Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by App Ramswarup. In
that, his riding efforts in the straight were found to be wanting. Therefore, it has been decided suspend his
Apprentice Jockeys licence for one race day i.e. on 10th October
2026 (permitted to ride work/mock race) for injudicious riding on his mount.

September 2026 having considered all the papers and proceedings before
them and having heard
the submissions made by App Avinash Pawan along with Trainer Narendra Lagad
(Master Trainer), Jockey Yash Narredu, Trainer M. Narredu, App. Ramswarup, as
also the Stipendiary Stewards, having viewed the video recording of the race in
question and having deliberated in the matter at length. The Stewards were not
satisfied with the explanation tendered by App Avinash Pawan. In that, it was
noted that he repeatedly kept looking back and travelled one horse wide
throughout the race. Further, approaching the 600 metres he shifted out onto
GUNFIRE (Yash Narredu). The Stewards whilst giving him the benefit of doubt
noted that there was no mala-fide intent. However, keeping the above in mind,
it was decided to suspend his Jockeys licence for one race day i.e. on 10th October 2026 (permitted to
ride work/mock race) for improper riding on his mount.
