RACE DAY REPORT

 

RAILS WERE PLACED AT THEIR ORIGINAL POSITION. RAILS WERE PLACED 6 METERS WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

RACE NO.1 (82) – THE EXCELLENT SORRENTO PLATE- DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 9 

 

At the start, HIGHGROUND (Dashrath Singh, dr.1) jumped outwards and made contact with HOLA AMIGO (P. Vinod, dr.2).

 

At the start, JETFIRE (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.5) jumped inwards thereby bumping and forcing WE STILL BELIEVE (K. Nazil, dr.4) onto PRINCE IGOR (App. Avinash Paswan, dr.3) thereafter PRINCE IGOR leaned outwards onto WE STILL BELIEVE who in turn shifted out and went across JETFIRE.

 

Approaching the 1000 metres, in an effort to settle his mount HIGHGROUND (Dashrath Singh) leaned out thereby carrying HOLA AMIGO (P. Vinod) outwards, at the same time EXHALT (S. G. Prasad) shifted in due to which JETFIRE (Prashant P. Dhebe) was tightened for room and had to be checked. Jockeys Dashrath Singh and S. G. Prasad were cautioned.

 

Jockey J. Chinoy (PHANTASMIQUE) was observed to have used the whip in an excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Pune Meeting 2026, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

SAMSON was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have an injury on its right hind pastern.

 

EXHALT & PRINCE IGOR were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2 (83) – THE SURAIYA & MASOOM MASTER SALVER : (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 13

 

After being stalled, ESTEBAN (App. Avinash Paswan, dr.6) ducked the front gates. As such, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. 

 

At the start, AMERICAN EAGLE (S. Mosin, dr.2) jumped, veered out and had to be steadied. As such, Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, ESTEBAN (App. Avinash Paswan, dr.6) jumped outwards, at the same time DARCY (Umesh, dr.8) jumped inwards due to which NEPTUNE (App. Ramswarup, dr.7) drawn between them was tightened for room.

 

Approaching the 1000 metres, SON OF A GUN (A. Prakash) leaned inwards onto ADMIRABLE (Neeraj Rawal) who in turn shifted in and made contact with SKANDHA (App. A. Omkar) causing the latter to be checked. Jockey A. Prakash has been cautioned.

 

In the final stages of the race, LIBAN (K. Nazil) weakened and thereafter leaned out thereby carrying STORM CLOUD (J. Chinoy) outwards. Jockey K. Nazil has been cautioned.

 

After the race, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

RAMBLER & LIBAN were trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

DARCY was observed to have an injury on its left hind fetlock.

 

The Equine Hospital reported the following:

 

SKANDHA sustained both eye injuries (sore).

 

 

RACE NO.3 (84) – THE SERUM INSTITUTE OF INDIA TROPHY :  (ABOUT) 2400 METRES – RUNNERS - 3

 

After the race, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

BLACK THUNDER was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4 (85) – THE MAUNA KEA PLATE- DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

BRASILIER (R. Ajinkya, dr.8) refused to be stalled despite substantial efforts. As such, the gelding was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order and Trainer Himmat Singh has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. 

 

MAJESTICUS (Neeraj Rawal dr.1) lost about a length at the start.

 

At the start, ESCONIDO (S. Mosin, dr.2) lost considerable ground and thereafter trailed the field. As such, Trainer S. Waheed has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the mare to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. 

 

At the start, AVANTE (App. Ramswarup, dr.5) jumped inwards thereby bumping and inconveniencing KEY WEST (N. S. Parmar, dr.4) who had to be steadied, thereafter AVANTE  shifted out onto MENORCA (Antony Raj S., dr.6). App. Ramswarup has been cautioned.

 

After the race, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

At a behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, an endoscopy was performed on SANCTIFIED and was found to have mild upper respiratory tract infection.

 

ESCONIDO & SANCTIFIED were trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported the following:

 

SANCTIFIED sustained a right eye injury (sore) with ulcer.

 

 

RACE NO.5 (86) – THE SULTAN SULEIMAN PLATE: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 11

 

On arrival at the starting gates, Jockey S. G. Prasad (UMEED) reported that his whip broke into two pieces and the same was replaced.

 

At the start, RIVAYAT (P. Trevor, dr.6) jumped outwards onto TEMPEST (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.7) who further shifted out thereby carrying ECHO (K. Nazil, dr.8) and MANDARIN MILLI (K. Pranil, dr.9) outwards onto WINTER SUN (S. J. Sunil, dr.10) causing the latter to be steadied.

 

After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (RIVAYAT) reported that approaching the 400 metres his bit had shifted to the right and he felt that the same was loose, adding that his mount had leaned inwards passing the 400 metres .As such, he had to steady his mount,

The Stipendiary Stewards examined the bit immediately after the race and found the same to be in order.

 

After the race, the Owner of “RIVAYAT” Mr. Sudendu Shah reported that he was not satisfied with Jockey P. Trevor’s riding. Keeping this in mind, the gelding was subject to veterinary examination and the Sr. V.O. reported that the gelding was found to be sore by left hind. As such, the gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race. Further, at the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, an endoscopy was performed on the gelding and no abnormalities were detected. Considering the above and keeping in mind the Owner’s complaint, the Stipendiary Stewards will look into the same and a detailed report will be published shortly.

 

After the race, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

UMEED was observed to have an injury on its left hind fetlock.

 

RACE NO.6 (87) – THE S. A. POONAWALLA MILLION: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

At the start, INVINCIBLE FORCE (Yash Narredu, dr.1) jumped outwards onto NEBULA (P. Trevor, dr.2) who further shifted out and made contact with AVENER (A. Sandesh, dr.3).

 

Soon after the start, MINARI (Antony Raj S.) shifted in and went across AVENER (A. Sandesh) who had to be steadied. Jockey Antony Raj S. has been cautioned.

 

Approaching the 100 metres, NEBULA (P. Trevor) leaned inwards onto AVENER (A. Sandesh) who had to be steadied.

 

After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (AVENER) reported that the bit on his mount had shifted to the right side, the same was noted.

 

After the race, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

JAANDAAR was observed to have a gum injury.

 

INVINCIBLE FORCE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7 (88) – THE EXCELLENT SORRENTO PLATE- DIVISION I : (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS – 9

 

On arrival at the starting gates, at the request of App. N. Bhosale, MIRAE was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified her fit to race.

 

Approaching the 400 metres, ASHWA ALMATY (S. J. Sunil) was observed to have been checked. After the race, Jockey S. J. Sunil reported that BEYOND STARS (S. Zervan) shifted in as a result he was tightened for room, the race was reviewed and it was pointed to him that his mount was inclined outwards around the turn and he had checked his mount in anticipation of the lateral moment of BEYOND STARS, thereafter, S. J. Sunil reported that his mount hung-out in the straight. Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

LICKETY SPLIT (J. Chinoy) was observed to have hung out in the straight, despite his rider’s efforts. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

MIRAE was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore. As such, the mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

IMPULSIVE, CRIMSON PIRATE & ASHWA ALMATY were trotted and found to be sound.

 

BEYOND STARS was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported the following:

 

ASHWA ALMATY sustained a left eye injury (sore).

 

RACE NO.8 (89) – THE MAUNA KEA PLATE- DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS – 9

 

At the start, PALOMA (Yash Narredu, dr.9) jumped, veered out and had to be steadied. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Approaching the 400 metres, STARSEED (T. S. Jodha) and PALOMA (Yash Narredu) was observed to have jostled.

 

Passing the 700 metres, NALEDI (C. Umesh) shifted out onto COFFE AT ELEVEN (A. Sandesh). Jockey C. Umesh has been cautioned.

 

Approaching the 100 metres, SEQUENTIAL (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out under pressure onto G VALENTINO (Prashant P. Dhebe)  who in turn shifted in and bumped BELIEVE (R. Ajinka) causing the latter to be checked . After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

COFFEE AT ELEVEN & PALOMA were trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported the following:

 

PALOMA & STARSEED sustained a right eye injury (sore).

The urine and blood samples of the  SKANDHA (Winner – 2nd race), LITTLE JOHN (Winner – 3rd race), JAANDAAR (Winner – 6th race), AVENER (2nd place – 6th race), CRIMSON PIRATE (Winner – 7th race) & COFFEE AT ELEVEN (Winner – 8th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
