PUNE MEETING 2026, SPECIAL RACE DAY, SATURDAY, 12TH SEPTEMBER, 2026.

RACE DAY REPORT

 

RAILS WERE PLACED AT THEIR ORIGINAL POSITION FROM 2000 METERS TO 1200 METERS, 4 METERS WIDE AT 1000 METERS, 5 METERS WIDE AT 800 METERS, 6 METERS WIDE AT 600 METERS. THEREAFTER, 4 METERS WIDE IN THE CHUTE

 

On a request from Trainer Deepesh Narredu, permission was granted to Trainer M. Narredu to saddle his charge BRIHATI in the 5th race, at his own (Trainer Deepesh Narredu’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (74) – THE ACCLAIMED PLATE: (ABOUT) 1800 METRES – RUNNERS - 4

 

KIMIKO (A. Sandesh, dr.2) lost about three lengths at the start. Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the mare to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

FORTUNATE SON was trotted and found to be sound.

 

MANWAR was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2 (75) – THE MYSORE RACE CLUB TROPHY : (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 3

 

On arrival at the starting gates, on a request from Jockey Akshay Kumar, IRISH GOLD was examined by the clubs Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by the right fore. As such, the horse was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds before coming under the Starter’s order and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

Passing the 400 metres, FOURTH WING (App. Ramswarup) shifted in and went across TURN AND BURN (Prashant P. Dhebe) causing the latter to be steadied. After questioning and not being satisfied, App. Ramswarup has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

   

App. Vishal (MARKET KING) was observed to have used the whip in an improper manner passing the 100 metres. This being his first offence during the current Pune Meeting 2026, he has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

TURN AND BURN was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3 (76) – THE COLOMBIANA PLATE:  (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

Passing the 1200 metres, BEE MAGICAL (Neeraj Rawal) leaned inwards thereby tightening MATISSE (App. S. Siddharth) racing along the rails causing the latter to check and drop back. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (EARTH) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

Passing the 600 metres, BISHOP (A. Prakash) leaned in due to which YOUR UNFORGETTABLE (P. Trevor) was held up for room. After the race, Jockey P. Trevor reported that he was denied a clear passage in the straight and had to switch his mount to the outside, the race was viewed along with Trainer P. S. Chouhan who expressed his dissatisfaction with Jockey P. Trevor’s riding, the Stipendiary Stewards are looking into the same and a report will submitted shortly.

 

The Sr. Veterinary Officer reported that after the race, YOUR UNFORGETTABLE & ZAFFERANO were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4 (77) – THE GOOD LIFE COMPANY TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1100 METRES – RUNNERS – 10

 

On arrival at the starting gates, on a request from Jockey A. S. Peter, ARIES was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified him fit to race.

 

On arrival at the starting gates, on a request from Jockey Yash Narredu (ASHWA BRAZIL), the saddle used on his mount was checked and found to be loose. As such, the saddle was removed and the gelding was re-saddled. As such, Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi has been cautioned.

 

At the start, KAJO (App. N. Bhosale, dr.10) jumped inwards and made contact with SHE’S A TEASER (Bhawani Singh, dr.9).

 

Passing the 900 metres, due to a tightly packed field MOONLIGHT KISS (P. Trevor) racing between SPOTLIGHT (App. Ramswarup) and ASHWA BRAZIL (Yash Narredu) had to be steadied.

 

Passing the 600 metres, LIAM (T. S. Jodha) shifted out under urgings thereby bumping and forcing ARIES (A. S. Peter) outwards on more than one occasion, thereafter passing the 500 metres LIAM further shifted out and went across ARIES. Jockey T. S. Jodha has been cautioned.

 

Approaching the 300 metres, CINDERELLA’S DREAM (A. Sandesh) shifted out and went across ARBITRAGE (App. Haridas Gore). Jockey A. Sandesh has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 250 metres, KAJO (App. N. Bhosale) leaned inwards and made contact with SHE’S A TEASER (Bhawani Singh). App. N. Bhosale has been cautioned.

 

The Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

MOONLIGHT KISS was observed to have an injury on its right hind pastern

 

ARIES was trotted and found to be sound.

 

On a request from Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait, an endoscopy was performed on AGEISJUSTANUMBER and was found to have guttural pouch empyema.

 

RACE NO.5 (78) – THE PANCHSHIL MILLION: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

BRIHATI (A. S. Peter, dr.7) was slowly off and jumped outwards at the start.

 

Soon after the start, ABSOLUTE EMPEROR (P. S. Kaviraj) shifted in under urgings and went across BRAHMASTRA (Neeraj Rawal) causing the latter to be steadied, thereafter, ABSOLUTE EMPEROR further shifted in thereby inconveniencing MIAMI VICE (N. S. Parmar) and RINELLA (Antony Raj S.). After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey P. S. Kaviraj has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, Jockey A. S. Peter (BRIHATI) reported that his mount was running green throughout the race. This being the first outing of the filly, no action has been initiated.

 

The Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

BRAHMASTRA was observed to have an injury on its left fore bulb of heel.

 

LUMINEER was trotted and found to be sound.

 

BRIHATI was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

On a request from Trainer Narendra Lagad, anendoscopy was performed on BRAHMASTRA and was found to have upper respiratory tract infection.

 

The Equine Hospital reported the following:

 

RINELLA sustained a left eye injury (sore) with ulcer.

 

RACE NO.6 (79) – THE PUNE CITY GOLD CUP: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 6

 

On arrival at the starting gates, the saddle used on SOVEREIGN KING (Antony Raj S., dr.3) and ULTIMO (P. Trevor dr.5) was checked and readjusted.

 

After being stalled, ULTIMO (P. Trevor dr.5) was fractious. As such, Trainer P. S. Chouhan has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, SHAMBALA (T. S. Jodha, dr.2) jumped inwards onto CHAGALL (Vivek G., dr.1).

 

After the race, Jockey Antony Raj S. (SOVEREIGN KING) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

SOVEREIGN KING and ULTIMO were trotted and found to be sound.

 

At the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, an endoscopy was performed on ULTIMO and no abnormality was found.

 

RACE NO.7 (80) – THE ANIMAL WELFARE BOARD OF INDIA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

GOLDEN EYE (Neeraj Rawal, dr.1) was reluctant to be stalled. As such, Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.

 

After being stalled, MUQADDAR (S. G. Prasad, dr.5) was fractious and reared up. As such, Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, MONTEREY (C. S. Jodha, dr.3) jumped outwards onto MUQADDAR (S. G. Prasad, dr.5) causing the latter to be steadied.

 

At the start, RAINBOW CONNECTION (Antony Raj S., dr.6) jumped outwards onto LEGADEMA (Vivek G., dr.7).

 

At the start, HERMANUS (Yash Narredu, dr.8) jumped outwards thereafter shifted in and carried LEGADEMA (Vivek G., dr.7) inwards due to which MUQADDAR (S. G. Prasad, dr.5) racing on their haunches was tightened for room and had to be checked. Jockey Yash Narredu has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 600 metres, HERMANUS (Yash Narredu) shifted out and made contact with MONTEREY (C. S. Jodha). Jockey Yash Narredu has been cautioned.

 

After the race, the Jockeys reported the following:

 

Jockey Vivek G. (LEGADEMA) reported that his mount was not galloping fluently in the final stages of the race, despite his efforts, the filly was subject to the veterinary examination and found to be sound.

 

Jockey Antony Raj S. (RAINBOW CONNECTION) reported that his mount was inclined outwards and from the 800 metres until the 600 metres and was not galloping fluently, the gelding was subject to veterinary examination and found to be sound.

 

Jockey P. Trevor (RED ROSE) reported that his mount was not galloping fluently, the filly was subject to veterinary examination and found to be sound.

 

After the race, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

ABSOLUTE MAJESTY was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8 (81) – THE STAR OF GIBRALTAR PLATE: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

At the start, JAGGER (P. Vinod, dr.5) jumped, veered out and had to be steadied. In view of a similar behavior of the gelding in the past, Trainer Behran Cama has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey P. Vinod (JAGGER) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Behram Cama has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.


Jockey R. Vaibhav (MA CHERIE) was observed to have used his whip in an improper manner on his mount. This being the first offence during the current Pune Meeting 2026, he has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

LUNA & MAGICAL MOMENTS were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine and blood samples of the winner of the 3rd, 4th, 5th & 8th race, viz. BEE MAGICAL, SPOTLIGHT, YINSIRUK & BALENO and the special samples of IRISH GOLD (2nd race), YOUR UNFORGETTABLE & ZAFFERANO (3rd race), LEGADEMA (7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
