RACE DAY REPORT
RAILS WERE PLACED AT ORIGINAL POSITION FROM 1400 METRES TO 1200 METRES, 2 METRES WIDE AT 1000 METRES, THEREAFTER 4 METRES WIDE UP TO THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE PLACED 4 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.
RACE NO.1 (1) – THE SEASON OPENER PLATE - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 11
ENSKY (Amyn Merchant, dr.3) was slow to begin and lost about two lengths at the start.
PALOMA (Suraj Narredu, dr.4) lost about a length at the start.
At the start, SANTANA ROW (App. Ramswarup, dr.2) jumped outwards and had to be steadied.
Soon after the start, ARBITRAGE (App. Haridas Gore) leaned outwards at the same time ABSOLUTE EMPEROR (P. S. Kaviraj) leaned inwards thereby bumping and tightening HOUSE OF LORDS (App. Avinash Paswan). Jockey P. S. Kaviraj and App. Haridas Gore have been cautioned.
Approaching the 900 metres, HOUSE OF LORDS (App. Avinash Paswan) shifted in and went across ARBITRAGE (App. Haridas Gore) causing the latter to be checked. App. Avinash Paswan has been cautioned.
Approaching the 800 metres, PALOMA (Suraj Narredu) racing along the rails was tightened for room and had to be steadied.
Approaching the 150 metres, HOUSE OF LORDS (App. Avinash Paswan) leaned in onto ZALIA (App. Bharat Singh) who in turn shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing ARBITRAGE (App. Haridas Gore), causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, App. Avinash Paswan has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Approaching the 100 metres, ENSKY (Amyn Merchant) shifted in under urgings and went across KEY WEST (Prashant P. Dhebe) causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey Amyn Merchant has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
MARCUS (K. Nazil) was observed to have trailed the field. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to ensure that his charge puts up a reasonable performance in the future.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
ENSKY was observed to have an injury on its left hind pastern.
MARCUS was trotted and found to be sound and was observed to have a gum injury.
ARBITRAGE was observed to have an injury on its left hind pastern.
SANTANA ROW was observed to have an injury on its right hind tendon.
RACE NO.2 (2) – THE DR. S. R. CAPTAIN SALVER: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 5
Passing the 1300 meters, MARKET KING (C. S. Jodha) racing on the haunches of IRISH GOLD (P. Trevor) was observed to have clipped the former and stumbled.
Approaching the 1100 metres, WESTERN STAR (Antony Raj S.) leaned inwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing IRISH GOLD (P. Trevor) causing the latter to be checked. Jockey Antony Raj S. has been cautioned.
Passing the 700 metres, SOVEREIGN KING (A. Sandesh) leaned inwards onto IRISH GOLD (P. Trevor) who in turn shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing KAVYA (N. S. Parmar) causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey A. Sandesh has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Approaching the 300 metres, KAVYA (N. S. Parmar) racing along the rails was tightened for room, had to check and change course.
Jockey A. Sandesh (SOVEREIGN KING) was observed to have used the whip in an excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Pune Meeting 2026, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of KAVYA (N. S. Parmar) and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
IRISH GOLD was observed to have an injury on its left hind medial side tibia.
RACE NO.3 (3) – THE SEASON OPENER PLATE - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 10
LUCKY DIAMOND (C. S. Jodha, dr.1) was observed to have taken a fly jump throwing its head up as the start was effected.
PRECIOSO (T. S. Jodha, dr.3) threw its head up and lost about a length at the start.
RED MERLOT (App. Avinash Paswan, dr.6) threw its head up at the start.
FLASH MOB (Amyn Merchant, dr.4) threw its head up and jumped out awkwardly at the start.
At the start, KAJO (Shrikant Kamble, dr.8) jumped inwards at the same time RED MERLOT (App. Avinash Paswan, dr.6) jumped outwards throwing its head up thereby bumping and tightening CRIMSON PIRATE (D. R. Shubham, dr.7).
Soon after the start, MAJESTIC WARRIOR (J. Chinoy) shifted out under urgings thereby bumping and unbalancing CRIMSON PIRATE (D. R. Shuhham) who in turn shifted out thereby bumping and unbalancing FLASHMAN (App. A. .Omkar) as a result STARIA (P. Trevor) racing on their outside was carried outwards, due to this incident KAJO (Shrikant Kamble) racing on the haunches of CRIMOSN PIRATE had to be checked.
An objection was lodged by Jockey D. R. Shubham rider of CRIMSON PIRATE placed 4th by the Judge against Jockey J. Chinoy rider of MAJESTIC WARRIOR placed 3rd by the Judge, reason being, “after the jump out MAJESTIC WARRIOR came onto him due to which he got unbalanced and thereafter his horse did not come into stride and only came into stride for last 2 furlongs. Due to this incident he lost a certain position”.
After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their own observations of the race, the Stewards decided to overrule the objection. However, they found Jockey J. Chinoy guilty of careless riding on his mount MAJESTIC WARRIOR. Due to lack of quorum the consideration of this item has been deferred.
Approaching the 600 metres, RED MERLOT (App. Avinash Paswan) was inclined outwards and carried FLASHMAN (App. A. Omkar) out. App. Avinash Paswan has been cautioned.
Approaching the 150 metres KAJO (Shrikant Kamble) leaned inwards thereby inconveniencing PRECIOSO (T. S. Jodha). Further, Jockey Shrikant Kamble was observed to have used the whip in an improper manner, as such, he has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Approaching the 150 metres, Jockey D. R. Shubham (CRIMSON PIRATE) was observed to have lost his whip. This being the first instance during the current Pune Meeting 2026, no action has been initiated.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
STARIA was trotted and found to be sound.
CRIMSON PIRATE was observed to have lost its left hind shoe.
RED MERLOT was observed to have an injury on its right nostril.
The Equine Hospital reported the following:
FLASH MOB sustained a left eye injury (sore).
CRIMSON PIRATE sustained a right eye injury with ulcer.
RACE NO.4 (4) – THE COLUMBIA PLATE: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 12
On the way to the starting gates, NEUTRALIST (P. Trevor) dislodged the rider and bolted, subsequently the colt was apprehended at about the 200 metres marker and with the consent of Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain the colt was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. As such, Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After being stalled, ADMIRABLE (App. Ramswarup, dr.3) reared up in the stall and sat down, as such, the filly was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified her fit to race. Trainer P. S. Chouhan has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
DESERT CLASSIC (K. Pranil, dr.2) was observed to have thrown its head up as the start was affected.
STORMY SEA (N. S. Parmar, dr.9) lost about a length at the start.
At the start, HEAVEN’S RHYTHM (A. S. Peter, dr.1) jumped outwards and made contact with DESERT CLASSIC (K. Pranil, dr.2).
At the start, EL MORAN (C. S. Jodha, dr.7) jumped outwards thereby bumping and forcing CINDERELLA’S DREAM (Amyn Merchant, dr.8) outwards onto STORMY SEA (N. S. Parmar, dr.9). Jockey C. S. Jodha has been cautioned.
At the start, STORM CLOUD (App. Avinash Paswan, dr.10) jumped outwards and made contact with MANOR HOUSE (Akshay Gaikwad, dr.11) at the same time ASHWA GYPSY (App. Haridas Gore, dr.12) leaned inwards thereby further tightening and inconveniencing MANOR HOUSE. App. Avinash Paswan and Haridas Gore have been cautioned.
Approaching the 1000 metres, ASHWA BRAZIL (App. S. Siddharth) shifted in and went across DESERT CLASSIC (K. Pranil) causing the latter to be checked. App. S. Siddharth has been cautioned.
Approaching the 800 metres, EL MORAN (C. S. Jodha) leaned in and went across ASHWA BRAZIL (App. S. Siddharth) causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey C. S. Jodha has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Approaching the 800 metres, Jockey Akshay Gaikwad (MANOR HOUSE) leaned inwards onto STORM CLOUD (App. Avinash Paswan) who in turn shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing ADMIRABLE (App. Ramswarup) racing along the rails causing the latter to be checked. Thereafter Jockey Akshay Gaikwad (MANOR HOUSE) was inclined inwards thereby bumping and tightening STORM CLOUD on more than one occasion. It was also observed that passing the 300 metres, MANOR HOUSE shifted in thereby bumping and tightening EL MORAN (C. S. Jodha). After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey Akshay Gaikwad has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
Passing the 700 metres STORMY SEA (N. S. Parmar) leaned inwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing ASHWA GYPSY (App. Haridas Gore) who had to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey N. S. Parmar has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Approaching the 600 metres, SKANDHA (T. S. Jodha) racing along the rails was tightened for room and had to be checked.
Approaching the 300 metres ADMIRABLE (App. Ramswarup) shifted out onto SKANDHA (T. S. Jodha) who had to be steadied thereafter ADMIRABLE leaned inwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing EL MORAN (C. S. Jodha) causing the latter to be checked. After the race on questioning App. Ramswarup stated that his saddle had slipped and shifted to one side during the race, as such, he was unable to exercise proper control over his mount. In view of this Trainer P. S. Chouhan has been fined Rs.2,000/- being the first instance of faulty saddling during the current Pune Meeting 2026.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
ADMIRABLE was trotted and found to be sound.
ASHWA GYPSY was observed to have an injury on its left hind bulb of heel.
RACE NO.5 (5) – THE D. K. ASHISH SALVER: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 9
On a request from Trainer Dallas Todywalla, ALGONQUIN was permitted to be withdrawn on compassionate grounds.
COME SEPTEMBER (Akshay Kumar, dr.9) lost about two lengths at the start.
Approaching the 100 metres, BRIGHT BUTTON (C. S. Jodha) shifted out under urgings and went across GOLDEN HEART (S. J. Sunil) causing the latter to be checked. Jockey C. S. Jodha has been cautioned.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
COME SEPTEMBER was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore. As such, the mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
MOONLIGHT KISS was observed to have a tongue injury.
RACE NO.6 (6) – THE CERTAINTY PLATE: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 8
On a request from Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha, GONZALO was permitted to be withdrawn on compassionate grounds.
On a request from Trainer Nazzak B. Chenoy, MAGENTA was permitted to be withdrawn on compassionate grounds.
TEMPO (T. S. Jodha, dr.1) was observed to have jumped out throwing its head up at the start.
At the start, AVANTE (A. Sandesh, dr.10) jumped out awkwardly and was observed to have lost its footing.
Soon after the start, INVINCIBLE FORCE (Suraj Narredu) leaned outwards and bumped CHAKAR VIEW (D. R. Shubham) who in turn shifted out onto HIRANYAMAYEE (Amyn Merchant).
After the race, Jockeys Suraj Narredu (INVINCIBLE FORCE) and A. Sandesh (AVANTE) reported that their respective mounts were running green.
After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (YINSIRUK) reported that his mount was running green and added that approaching the 200 metres his mount had leaped over the track crossing.
An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of YINSIRUK (P. Trevor) and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
AVANTE was observed to have an injury on its left hind pastern.
The Equine Hospital reported that RED LIGHTNING sustained a left eye injury (sore).
RACE NO.7 (7) – THE ELEGANCE PLATE: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 8
On arrival at the starting gates, on a request from Jockey P. Trevor, TRAIL BLAZER was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and found to be sound. However, the Jockey insisted that the colt was unsound from the hinds. On consultation with the Chief Stipendiary Steward due weightage was given to apprehension raised by the Jockey P. Trevor and the colt was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under the Starters order. Subsequently, the colt was again examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. on 18th July 2026 and found to have sore back. However, the colt was trotted sound.
AEON FLUX (A. Sandesh, dr.8) took a fly jump at the start.
At the start, WHISPER (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.2) jumped outwards onto LEO THE LION (App. Avinash Paswan, dr.3) at the same time PHANTASMIQUE (J. Chinoy, dr.5) jumped inwards onto ADONIS (S. J. Sunil, dr.4) forcing it inwards due to which LEO THE LION was tightened for room and had to be checked. App. Aditya Waydande and Jockey J. Chinoy have been cautioned.
Approaching the 800 metres, PHANTASMIQUE (J. Chinoy) shifted out and carried HIGHGROUND (App. S. Siddharth) outwards. Jockey J. Chinoy has been cautioned.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
TRAIL BLAZER was trotted and found to be sound.
The Equine Hospital reported that LEO THE LION sustained a right eye injury (sore).

RE: POSITIVE REPORT IN THE POST RACE BLOOD SAMPLE OF b. g. "FLASHMAN" (WINNER) IN RACE NO. 126-THE VINAYAK SALVER - RUN ON 12TH OCTOBER 2025:
Trainer Bezan Chenoy had meeting with the Stewards of the Club on Tuesday, 9th June 2026 in reference to the positive analytical finding reported in the post-race blood sample of b g FLASHMAN following Race No. 126 The Vinayak Salver run on 12th October 2025.
The Stewards considered all relevant documents, evidence, submissions, laboratory reports, and expert opinions placed before them, and in particular the findings relating to the presence of Lamotrigine detected in water samples collected from Pune TCH and the open well at Mumbai, being the water sources used for washing horses under the charge of Trainer Bezan Chenoy.
The Stewards also examined the scientific and factual material pertaining to the possible source and circumstances surrounding the analytical finding and termed it as contamination. Having considered these findings and being satisfied that the circumstances were beyond the Trainers control, decided that no action needs to be taken against the concerned Trainer and to close this matter.
Further, the presence of Lamotrigine in the post-race blood sample of b g FLASHMAN was confirmed by both the Primary and Confirmatory Laboratories and, therefore, the analytical finding itself remains established and in accordance with the applicable Medication Rules, the disqualification of b g FLASHMAN from the race concerned shall stand.
This decision was made strictly on the facts and evidence pertaining to this matter and shall not constitute a precedent, exemption, defense, entitlement, or basis for any claim in any future case. Each matter shall be considered and determined on its own merits, facts, and evidence.

Chenoy along with her Spokesperson Mr. Bezan Chenoy had meeting with the Stewards of the Club on Tuesday, 9th June 2026 in reference to the positive analytical finding reported in the post-race urine sample of ch c SHAMBALA following Race No. 123- The Noshir & Dolly Dhunjibhoy Sprint Million (Gr.3) run on 12th October 2025.
The Stewards considered all relevant documents, evidence, submissions, laboratory reports, and expert opinions placed before them, and in particular the findings relating to the presence of Lamotrigine detected in water samples collected from Pune TCH and the open well at Mumbai, being the water sources used for washing horses under the charge of Trainer Nazzak B. Chenoy.
The Stewards also examined the scientific and factual material pertaining to the possible source and circumstances surrounding the analytical finding and termed it as contamination. Having considered these findings and being satisfied that the circumstances were beyond the Trainers control, decided that no action needs to be taken against the concerned Trainer and to close this matter.

The Stewards considered all relevant documents, evidence, submissions, laboratory reports, and expert opinions placed before them, and in particular the findings relating to the presence of Lamotrigine detected in water samples collected from Pune TCH and the open well at Mumbai, being the water sources used for washing horses under the charge of Trainer Nazzak B. Chenoy.
The Stewards also examined the scientific and factual material pertaining to the possible source and circumstances surrounding the analytical finding and termed it as contamination. Having considered these findings and being satisfied that the circumstances were beyond the Trainers control, decided that no action needs to be taken against the concerned Trainer and to close this matter.

Trainer Behram Cama had meeting with the Stewards of the Club on Tuesday, 9th June 2026 in reference to the positive analytical finding reported in the post-race urine sample of b f NEBULA following Race No. 25 The Prince Karim Aga Khan IV Memorial Trophy run on 7th December 2025.
The Stewards considered all relevant documents, evidence, submissions, laboratory reports, and expert opinions placed before them, and in particular the findings relating to the presence of Lamotrigine detected in water samples collected from Pune TCH and the open well at Mumbai, being the water sources used for washing horses under the charge of Trainer Behram Cama.
The Stewards also examined the scientific and factual material pertaining to the possible source and circumstances surrounding the analytical finding and termed it as contamination. Having considered these findings and being satisfied that the circumstances were beyond the Trainers control, decided that no action needs to be taken against the concerned Trainer and to close this matter.
Further, the presence of Lamotrigine in the post-race urine sample of b f NEBULA was confirmed by both the Primary and Confirmatory Laboratories and, therefore, the analytical finding itself remains established and in accordance with the applicable Medication Rules, the disqualification of b f NEBULA from the race concerned shall stand.

Trainer Karthik Ganapathy had meeting with the Stewards of the Club on Tuesday, 9th June 2026 in reference to the positive analytical finding reported in the post-race urine and blood samples of b c BUCKINGHAM following Race No. 46 The Lt. Col. Govind Singh (VRC) Trophy run on 28 December 2025.
The Stewards considered all relevant documents, evidence, submissions, laboratory reports, and expert opinions placed before them, and in particular the findings relating to the presence of Lamotrigine detected in water samples collected from Pune TCH and the open well at Mumbai, being the water sources used for washing horses under the charge of Trainer Karthik Ganapathy.
The Stewards also examined the scientific and factual material pertaining to the possible source and circumstances surrounding the analytical finding and termed it as contamination. Having considered these findings and being satisfied that the circumstances were beyond the Trainers control, decided that no action needs to be taken against the concerned Trainer and to close this matter.
