RAILS WERE PLACED 1 METRE
AWAY AT 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 4
METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 6 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.
FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM
THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM THEIR ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES
LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 AND 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.
On a request from
Trainer J. E. Mckeown, permission was granted to
Trainer Subhag Singh to saddle his charges JOONDALUP
in the 5th race and MEADOW SPRINGS in the 4th race,
at his own (Trainer J. E. Mckeown’s) risk and
responsibility.
RACE NO.1 (160) – THE
MID-DAY TROPHY: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS - 8
After being stalled, MANWAR
(P. Trevor, dr.8) was fractious. Trainer P. S. Chouhan
has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to
the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next
accepting to race.
At the start, BRIGHT BUTTON
(Neeraj Rawal, dr.5) was
observed to have lost its footing and stumble.
Passing the 1700 metres, MARIUS (S. G. Prasad) was observed to have veered
out and went across ALLEZ L’ETOILE (Antony Raj S.) and HER CHARGE (Bhawani Singh). After the race on questioning, Jockey S. G.
Prasad stated that his mount was inclined outwards throughout the race, despite
his efforts. As such, Trainer Aman Atlaf Hussain has been asked to
take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, the
Jockey’s reported the following:
A. Sandesh
(SAVAGE PEACOCK) reported loss of whip passing the 300 metres.
This being the first instance during the current Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, no
action has been initiated.
Antony Raj S. (ALLEZ
L’ETOILE) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight,
despite his efforts. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures, before next
accepting to race.
After the race, the Chief
V.O. reported the following:

BRIGHT BUTTON, HER HARGE & RENOIR were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2 (161) – THE
RACINGPULSE.IN TROPHY : (ABOUT) 1400
METRES – RUNNERS - 8
At the start,
YOUREMYEYESBABY (P. Trevor, dr.6) jumped out awkwardly inwards and made contact
with JUMANAH (A. Sandesh dr.5) thereafter RED ROSE (Yash Narredu, dr.4) leaned
outwards due to which JUMANAH was further tightened and had to be checked
Soon after the start,
PHANTOM STRIKE (Akshay Kumar, dr.8) leaned inwards
onto REMARKABLE (Antony Raj S., dr.7) who had to be steadied
After the race, the
Jockey’s reported the following:
Jockey Yash Narredu (RED ROSE) reported
that his mount was not galloping fluently. The filly was subject to veterinary
examination and was
found to be sore by right fore. As such, the filly has to be passed fit by the
Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
Jockey Akshay Kumar (PHANTOM STRIKE) reported that his mount was
not galloping fluently. The gelding was subject to veterinary examination and
found to be sound.
After the race, the Chief
V.O. reported the following:
YOUREMYEYESBABY was trotted
and found to be sound.
RACE NO.3 (162) – THE
INDIARACE.COM TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 9
After
being stalled, ASTERION (Antony Raj S., dr.8) was fractious and lashed out at
the back gates. Subsequently, the gelding was taken out, got loose in the
process and was apprehended at the 1400
metres chute. As such, the gelding was withdrawn
before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer Karthik
Ganapathy has been asked to give his charge more gate
practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning
starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the
start, PALOMA (Yash Narredu,
dr.7) jumped inwards at the same time WYOMING (T. S. Jodha,
dr.6) jumped outwards and they made contact.
Soon after
the start, CHAKAR VIEW (Akshay Gaikwad)
shifted in under urgings and went across PALOMA (Yash
Narredu) causing the latter to be checked. After
questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey Akshay Gaikwad has been fined
Rs.2,000/- for shifting in before the red marker.
Approaching
the 300 metres, LUMINEER (A. S. Peter) drifted out
and went across NINE SPEED (N. S. Parmar). After the
race on questioning, Jockey A. S. Peter stated that his mount was inclined
outwards in the straight, despite his efforts. This being the first run of the
filly, no action has been initiated.
After the
race, the Jockey’s reported the following:
Jockey A. Sandesh (ORGANISED CHAOS) reported that his mount was
running green throughout the race. Trainer Adhirajsingh
Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures,
before next accepting to race.
Jockey P.
Trevor (FUNNY BUNNY) reported that his saddle slipped passing the 100 metres. This being the first instance of faulty saddling
during the current Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, Trainer P. S. Chouhan
has been fined Rs.2,000/-. Further, Jockey P. Trevor reported
also that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight, despite his efforts.
In view of a similar behavior of the filly in her last start, Trainer P. S. Chouhan has been asked to show his charge in a mock race to
the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting to race.
After the
race, the Chief V.O. reported the following:
FUNNY
BUNNY was trotted and found to be sound.
ASTERION
was observed to have a small injury on its right hind stifle.
RACE NO.4 (163) – THE RACE
MIRROR TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 8
AEON FLUX (A. Sandesh, dr.5) lost about a length at the start.
At the start, HOLA AMIGO
(J. Chinoy, dr.3) jumped outwards and made contact
with MEADOW SPRINGS (C. Umesh, dr.4) who was inclined
inwards thereafter HOLA AMIGO shifted in under urgings thereby bumping
and boring CONTINENTAL DRIFT (R. Ajinkya, dr.1)
racing on its inside due to which the latter had to be checked. After
questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey J. Chinoy has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
Passing the 1100 metres, DHAHABI (Akshay Gaikwad) leaned in thereby carrying MEADOW SPRINGS (C. Umesh, dr.4) inwards. Jockey Akshay
Gaikwad has been cautioned.
Soon after the start,
EXHALT (Amyn Merhant)
shifted in under urgings onto KEY WEST (N. S. Parmar)
causing the latter to be checked due to which AEON FLUX (A. Sandesh)
racing on the haunches of KEY WEST was also inconvenienced and had to check and
change course. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation,
Jockey Amyn Merchant has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Passing the 900 metres, KEY WEST (N. S. Parmar)
leaned in thereby tightening MEADOW SPRINGS (C. Umesh).
Jockey N. S. Parmar has been cautioned.
After the race, the
Jockey’s reported the following:
Jockey R Ajinkya (CONTINENTAL DRIFT) reported that his mount was
inclined outwards in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Vinesh has been asked to take remedial measures, before
next accepting to race.
After the race, the Chief
V.O. reported the following:
JAGGER & CONTINENTAL
DRIFT were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.5 (164) – THE HINDU
TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 7
On a request from Trainer
B. Prithviraj, MONEY FAIR was examined by the Club’s
Sr. V.O. at 06:15 p.m. on 20th March 2026 at the stables and
was found to have fever. As such, the colt was certified unfit to race and was
permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds.
On arrival
at the starting gates, on a request from Jockey Yash Narredu, TREAT was examined by the Club’s Chief V.O. and
found to be sound. However, As Jockey Yash Narredu was not confident of her soundness, the Stipendiary
Stewards permitted the mare to be withdrawn, before coming under the Starter’s
order. Subsequently, the mare was examined by the Club’s Chief V.O. on 22nd March
2026 at the stables and found to be sore by right fore. As such, the mare has
to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
Soon after
the start, ALPINE STAR (App. Bharat Singh) leaned out and made contact with
VEGATHA (P. Trevor) causing the latter to be steadied. App. Bharat Singh has
been cautioned.
Passing
the 600 metres, ASHWA BRAZIL (Vivek
G.) was observed to have lost its footing and stumble.
After the race, the Chief
V.O. reported the following:
ALPINE STAR, ASHWA BRAZIL
& VINCERO were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6 (165) – THE FREE
PRESS JOURNAL TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 7
On arrival
at the starting gates, on a request from Jockey P. Trevor, ART COLLECTOR was
examined by the Club’s Chief V.O., who certified him fit to race.
BIG BAY (Yash Narredu, dr.7) was reluctant
to be stalled. As such, Trainer M. Narredu has been
asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the
satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting
to race.
At the
start, SON OF A GUN (J. Chinoy, dr.2) jumped outwards
onto LIBAN (Neeraj Rawal,
dr.3) who further shifted out and carried CELLINI (App. A. Omkar,
dr.4) outwards at the same time DESTROYER (Shrikant Kamble, dr.6) jumped inwards onto ART COLLECTOR (P. Trevor,
dr.5) due to the incident ART COLLECTOR was inconvenienced and had to check and
drop back.
After the
race, the Chief V.O. reported the following:
SON OF A
GUN was observed to have lost its left hind shoe.
ART
COLLECTOR was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.7 (166) – THE TIMES
OF INDIA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS –10
At the
start, KOENIGSEGG (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.8) was
observed to have lost its footing and stumble.
At the
start, PURE (S. J. Sunil, dr.6) jumped inwards and made contact with ASHWA
ALMATY (App. S. Siddharth, dr.5) thereafter CRYSTAL
CLEAR (S. G. Prasad, dr.7) shifted in under urgings thereby bumping and forcing
PURE inwards onto ASHWA ALMATY causing the latter to be checked. After
questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey S. G. Prasad
has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Soon after
the start, HOUSE OF LORDS (App. Bharat Singh) shifted in and went across ETOILE
(T. S. Jodha) causing the latter to check and change
course. App. Bharat Singh has been cautioned.
Passing
the 700 metres, HOUSE OF LORDS (App. Bharath Singh) shifted in thereby tightening and
inconveniencing KOENIGSEGG (App. Aditya Waydande)
causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied
with the explanation, App. Bharat Singh has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
In the
last 150 metres, KOENIGSEGG (App. Aditya Waydande) was observed to have maintained an erratic course
thereby inconveniencing ASHWA ALMATY (App. S. Siddharth)
racing on its haunches. App. Aditya Waydande has been
severely cautioned.
Passing
the 100 metres, PURE (S. J. Sunil) shifted in under
pressure thereby carrying KOENIGSEGG (App. Aditya Waydande)
inwards, who further shifted in and went across ASHWA ALMATY (App. S. Siddharth) who had to be checked. Jockey S.J Sunil has been
severely cautioned.
After the
race, the Chief V.O. reported the following:
PURE was examined by the
Club’s Chief V.O. and was found to be sore by left fore. As such, the gelding
has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

The urine
and blood samples of the winner of the 1st, 3rd, 6th&
7th race, viz. MANWAR, ORGANISED CHAOS, SCARAMOUCHE &
DESERT CLASSIC, and the special samples of YOUREMYEYESBABY (2nd race)
& FUNNY BUNNY (3rd race), were collected for detection of
prohibited substances.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE
RUNNING AND RIDING OF “SENECA (DRAWN 7) IN RACE NO.144 – THE J. P. VAZIFDAR
TROPHY (DIST. 1600 MTRS.) RUN ON SUNDAY, 8TH MARCH 2026:
In connection with the
captioned subject matter, the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday,
21st March 2026, having heard the submissions made by Trainer Adhirajsingh
Jodha , Jockey Vivek G., as
also the Stipendiary Stewards, having viewed the video recording of the race in
question and having deliberated in the matter at length, decided to give Jockey
Vivek G. the benefit of doubt and severely caution
him the future.

RE: MERCY PETITION BY MR. S. SABA - REGARDING
THE SUSPENSION OF HIS APPRENTICE JOCKEY’S LICENCE UNTIL 31ST JULY
2026 UNDER THE RWITC RULES OF RACING – ENQUIRY INTO THE PASSING OF RACING
INFORMATION TO OTHERS AND ALLEGED BETTING ACTIVITIES IN CONTRAVENTION TO RULE
101 (III) OF THE RULES OF RACING AND ON-GOING ENQUIRY INTO HIS ALLEGED
MISCONDUCT.
In connection with the captioned subject matter, the
Board of appeal at its meeting held on 15th March 2026, having
considered mercy petition from Mr. S. Saba and decided to grant him permission to apply
to the Stewards of the Club for an Apprentice Jockey’s licence for the Racing
Season 2026/27. His licence to ride, if granted by the Stewards, will remain
suspended till 31st July 2026 as communicated earlier but he
will be permitted to ride work and mock races.
