MUMBAI MEETING 2025/2026, SPECIAL RACE DAY, SUNDAY, 15TH, FEBRUARY, 2026

RACE DAY REPORTS

PENETROMETER READING:4.1 (LONGCHAMP METHOD)

RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 8 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 10 METRES AWAY AT 600 METRES AND THEREAFTER 12 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.

FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 8 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

DEPUTISATION.

 

On a request from Trainer Prasanna Kumar P, permission was granted to Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain to saddle his charge PHANTOM STRIKE in the 4th Race, at his own (Trainer Prasanna Kumar P’s) risk and responsibility.

 

 

CHANGE OF JOCKEY:

 

 

 

RACE NO.1 (113) THE HOMI MODY TROPHY : (ABOUT) 2400 METRES - RUNNERS - 3

 

EVALDO (Akshay Kumar dr 3) lost about a length at the start.

 

RACE NO.2 (114) THE MADRAS RACE CLUB TROPHY : (ABOUT) 1600 METRES - RUNNERS - 6

 

RADIANT REIGN was examined by the Club’s VO at the stables at 10:00 a.m on 13^th February 2026 and was found to have a painful swelling on its Right Fore Tendon, as such the filly was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

On arrival at the starting gates, Jockey Vivek G (ANGELISA) was observed to have sported a wrong colored cap and the same was changed. As such, Jockey Vivek G has been fined Rs 1,000/- for his lapse.

 

After the race Jockey Anthony Raj S (ANTINO) was inclined outwards in the straight despite his efforts. As such Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race.

 

After the Race, CASPION was trotted and was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3 (115) THE AMATEUR RIDERS' CLUB TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES - RUNNERS -  4

 

LAND OF PLENTY was reluctant to be stalled, Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the horse to the satisfaction of the Starter at the morning starting trials before next accepting to Race.

 

 

RACE NO.4 (116) THE ROMAN ROSE PLATE  : (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

Soon after the start GUNFIRE (Yash Narredu) shifted in and went across HORIZON (C. Umesh).

 

Passing the 600 meters EUROPE (Neeraj Rawal) leaned out onto TURBUENT (A. S. Peter), causing the latter to be steadied. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

Approaching the 200 meters GOLDEN AXL (Anthony Raj S) shifted out under pressure and went onto TURBULENT( A.S.Peter) carrying the latter outwards and thereafter in the final stages of the Race GOLDEN AXL leaned in thereby tightening LION HEART (Akshay Kumar). After the Race, on questioning Jockey Anthony Raj S reported that his mount was running erratic throughout the race. As such Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race.

 

After the race PHANTOM STRIKE was trotted and was found to be sound. 

 

RACE NO.5 (117) THE V. P. KOREGAONKAR PLATE : (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 12

 

Soon after the start KEY WEST (S.P.Ranjane) leaned inwards thereby inconveniencing TAJIRI (P.Tevor) who had to be steadied, thereafter approaching the 1000 meters KEY WEST (S. P. Ranjane) shifted out and carried ITS MY WAY (Bhawani Singh) outwards. After the race, on questioning Jockey S. P. Ranjane stated that his mount was keen in the early part and in his effort to settle, threw its head up and was erratic. As such, Trainer M.K.Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to Race.

 

After the race, the VO reported the following:

 

TAJIRI was trotted and found to be Sound.

 

YULETIDE was observed to have lost its Right Fore Shoe.

 

ITS MY WAY was observed to have a gum injury.

 

 

RACE NO.6 (118) THE MUNCIPAL COMMISSIONER’S TROPHY : (ABOUT) 1400 METRES -  RUNNERS -  13

 

DANCING STAR (K.Nazil dr 2 ) lost about two lengths at the start.

 

At the start, COME SEPTEMBER (B Nikhil  dr 8) threw its head up, jumped inwards and made contact with JURACAN (David Allan. dr 7).

 

Soon after the start, LORD AND MASTER (Yash Narredu) shifted in and went across APPALACHIAN (T.S.Jodha) who further shifted in and made contact with LIFE IS LIFE (S.A.Amit). After the race Jockey Yash Narredu reported that his mount was hanging in throughout the race despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to Race.

 

Approaching the 500 meters UNDERCOVER (P.Trevor) shifted out on more than one occasion and went across ABHYANKAR (A.S.Peter) causing the later to clip and stumble thereby dislodging its rider. After questioning and not being satisfied Jockey P Trevor has been suspended for 2 Race Days i.e. -------------.  

 

After the race, the VO reported the following:

 

COME SEPTEMBER was trotted and found to be sore by Right Fore. As such, the Mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to Race.

 

DANCING STAR was trotted and found to be sore by right fore as such the gilding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

JURACAN was examined and was observed to have broken a blood vessel, As such, the gelding is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Clubs VO before next accepting to race .

 

UNDERCOVER was trotted and found to be sound.

 

LIFE IS LIFE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

MARCUS was observed to have lost its Left Fore Shoe.

 

 

RACE NO.7 (119) THE T. M. GOCULDAS PLATE (ABOUT) 1000 METRES - RUNNERS – 4

 

After the race App. Aditya Waydande reported that his mount ESPERANZA was inclined outwards in the straight despite his efforts. As such Trainer Shahzaan Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ESPERANZA was examined by the Club’s VO and was found to have broken a Blood Vessel, is not permitted to Race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Clubs VO before next accepting to Race.

 

 

RACE NO.8 (120) THE AHMED I. RAHIMTOOLA TROPHY : (ABOUT) 1200 METRES -  RUNNERS -  7

 

On arrival at the starting gates, at the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards LUCIO was trotted by the Clubs Sr VO and certified fit to Race.

MONEY FAIR was reluctant to be stalled, as such Trainer B. Prithviraj has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the Colt to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race.

 

At the start SURREALIST (Vivek G .dr3) jumped, leaned inwards and went across ILLUSIONIST (S.A.Amit dr 2) causing the letter to be steadied, Jockey Vivek G has been cautioned.

 

ILLUSIONIST was observed to have trailed the field, the gelding was subject to veterinary examination and was found to be sound. As such, Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to ensure that his charge puts up a reasonable performance in the future.

 

After the Race, the VO reported the following:

 

MONEY FAIR was trotted and was found to be sound.

 

LUCIO was trotted and was found to be sound.

 

 

RACE NO.9 (121) THE STUNNING PLATE (ABOUT) 1000 METRES - RUNNERS - 12

 

AEON FLUX was reluctant to be stalled, Trainer Faisal Abbas has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at the morning starting trails, before next accepting to race.

 

FIDATO (N.Bhosale , dr 4) lost considerable ground at the start. As such Trainer Narendra Lagad has been  asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter in Two Mock Races before next accepting to Race.

 

At the start AEON FLUX (Bharat Singh ,dr 10)  jumped, veered out and had to be steadied.

 

HIGHGROUND (Mustakim Alam, dr 5) lost about two lengths at the start.

 

AEON FLUX (Bharat Singh) was observed to have drifted out in the straight thereby finishing the race on the outer portion of the Track, After the Race, on questioning App Bharat Singh stated that the bit shifted up while backing in the horse in the stall, App Bharat has been cautioned and the Starter has been asked to ensure that the handlers backing in the horses are more careful in the future.

 

Jockey A Prakash was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount (SAMSON).This being his first offence in the current Mumbai Meeting 2025-26. He is being fined Rs 3,000/-

The urine samples of the winner of the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 8th - race, viz. MIRACLE OF HANUKAH, AZALEA, YOUR UNFORGETTABLE & EL MORAN, and the special samples of IT’S MY WAY (5th race) JURACAN (6th race) ESPERANZA (7th race) ARBITRAGE (9th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “SEQUENTIAL” (DRAWN 1) IN RACE NO. 71 – THE P. R. MEHTA TROPHY (DIST. 1000 MTRS) RUN ON 18^TH JANUARY, 2026 :

 

The Stewards at their meeting held on Sunday, 15th February, 2026 having considered the submissions made by Trainer Narendra Lagad, Jockey Mustakim Alam as also that of the Stipendiary Stewards and having deliberated in the matter decided to give a benefit of doubt to Jockey Mustakim Alam and no action was initiated.

 

RE : JOCKEY A.S. PETER REPORTED TO THE STEWARDS FOR ALLOWING AN UNAUTHORIZED PERSON TO STAY WITH HIM IN THE STABLE AREA ON SATURDAY, 31^ST JANUARY 2026 :

 

The Stewards at their meeting held on Sunday, 15^th February 2026 having considered the submissions made by Jockey A. S. Peter, and his spokesperson Mr. P. Trevor as also that of the Stipendiary Stewards and having deliberated in the matter decided to severely warn Jockey A. S. Peter for the future.

 

RE: RACE NO. 107. THE M.D. MEHTA TROPHY DIST 1000 MTRS  RUN ON 12^TH FEBRUARY 2026

 

Jockey K.Nazil was observed to have used the whip in an improper manner on his mount LUCKY DIAMOND. This being his first offence in the current Mumbai Meting 2025-26 , he is being fined Rs 3,000/-
