MUMBAI MEETING 2025/26, SPECIAL RACE DAY, SUNDAY, 28TH DECEMBER, 2025.

RACE DAY REPORT

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 9 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES, 11 METRES AWAY AT 600 METRES AND THEREAFTER 12 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT AT 1400 METRES, 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer Darius R. Byramji, permission was granted to Trainer Dallas Todywalla to saddle his charge AFRICAN GOLD in the 6th race, at his own (Trainer Darius R. Byramji’s) risk and responsibility.

 

On a request from Trainer Deepesh Narredu, permission was granted to Trainer M. Narredu to saddle his charge ELEVATE in the 2nd race, at his own (Trainer Deepesh Narredu’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (43) – THE P. A. D'AVOINE TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 10

 

At the start, BEE MAGICAL (Neeraj Rawal, dr.7) jumped inwards at the same time JOONDALUP (C. Umesh, dr.3) jumped outwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing AZURE (P. Trevor, dr.6), RAMBLER (S. Mosin, dr.4) and MOONLIGHT KISS (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.5) drawn between them causing the latter to check and drop back 

 

After the race, App. Bharat Singh (ASHWA BRAZIL) reported that his mount was lugging in around the bend, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey N. S. Parmar (GODDES OF DAWN) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

At the request of Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait, an endoscopy was performed on BEE MAGICAL in the saddling enclosure and was found to have EIPH (Gr. II) and guttural pouch empyema.

 

After the race, the V.O. reported the following:

 

ASHWA BRAZIL was observed to have a gum injury.

 

RAMBLER was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

AZURE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2 (44) – THE TOPSPIN PLATE: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

Soon after the start, ELEVATE (Yash Narredu) shifted in and went across INHERITANCE (David Allan) thereafter ELEVATE further shifted in and went across YOUR SRI SHAKTHI (C. Umesh) thereby tightening and inconveniencing SPECTRA (A. Sandesh) and TEMPO (R. Ajinkya) racing along the rails. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey Yash Narredu has been fined Rs.3,000/- for shifting in before the red marker.

 

In the final stages of the race, ROGUE (S. Mosin) drifted out under pressure onto YOUR SRI SHAKTHI (C. Umesh) who further shifted out thereby carrying INHERITANCE (David Allan) outwards. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey S. Mosin has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

SWEET TOWN (App. Mustakim Alam) was observed to have trailed the field. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to ensure that his charge puts up a reasonable performance in the future.

 

RACE NO.3 (45) – THE KARL UMRIGAR SALVER: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS -6

 

ARDAKAN (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.2) took a fly jump and lost about a length at the start.

 

Approaching the 300 metres, CHRISTOPHANY (App. Ramswarup) gradually shifted in under pressure thereby tightening and inconveniencing CHAGALL (Neeraj Rawal) racing along the rails causing the latter to check and drop back. After questioning and not being satisfied, App Ramswarup has been fined Rs.3,000/-. 

 

After the race, ARDAKAN was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4 (46) – THE LT. COL. GOVIND SINGH (VRC) TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS – 8

 

CASPIAN (R. Ajinkya, dr.7) lost about three lengths at the start.

 

Approaching the 300 metres, ALEXIOS (A. Sandesh) shifted out thereby carrying BUCKINGHAM (Antony Raj S.) outwards. Jockey R. Ajinkya has been cautioned.

 

In the final stages of the race, BUCKINGHAM (Antony Raj S.) shifted in thereby inconveniencing ALEXIOS (A. Sandesh) racing on its haunches. Jockey Antony Raj S. has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey Antony Raj S. (BUCKINGHAM) reported that his mount was running green and hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. This being the first outing of the colt, no action has been initiated 

 

After the race, BUCKINGHAM was examined and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5 (47) – THE DR. I. C. NAGREE TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 13

 

YOUEMANORBORNE (N. B. Kuldeep, dr.11) lost about a length at the start.

 

At the start, DON JULIO (A. Sandesh, dr.1) jumped outwards thereby carrying SKANDHA (T. S. Jodha, dr.2) outwards onto STARLIGHT DANCER (Bhawani Singh, dr.3) causing the latter to be steadied.

 

Approaching the 300 metres, CHARLIE BROWN (P. Trevor) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing SHE’S MY GAL (K. Nazil) causing the latter to check and drop back. Jockey P. Trevor has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

In the final stages of the race, SANTANA ROW (App. Ramswarup) was observed to have drifted out under pressure. App. Ramswarup has been asked to take lessons from the riding instructor to improve his whipping action.

 

After the race, Jockey K. Nazil (SHE’S MY GAL) reported that mount his hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Vinesh has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, the V.O. reported the following:

 

CHARLIE BROWN was trotted and found to be sound.

 

DON JULIO was observed to have an injury on its left hind pastern.

 

MUSKOKA was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6 (48) – THE MAHARAJA JIWAJIRAO SCINDIA TROPHY  (Grade 3): (ABOUT) 1800 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

DREAM ALLIANCE (Yash Narredu, dr.9) lost about two lengths at the start.

 

PRIDE’S PRINCE (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.2) lost about a length at the start.

 

Soon after the start, GOLDEN THUNDER (Antony Raj S.) shifted in and went across EVALDO (David Allan) who was marginally slow to begin. 

 

After the race, DREAM ALLIANCE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. As such, the gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, the V.O. reported the following:

 

GOLDEN THUNDER was observed to have a gum injury.

 

PRIDE’S PRINCE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7 (49) – THE D. W. REID PLATE: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 10

 

EXOTIC STAR (S. Zervan, dr.5) refused to be stalled despite substantial efforts. As such, the filly was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer S. Waheed has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.

 

JAGGER (T. S. Jodha, dr.11) jumped and veered out as the start was affected thereby taking no practical part in the race. As such, Trainer Behram Cama has been asked show his charge in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting to race.

 

SPEAK THE BREED (Antony Raj S, dr.9) lost about two lengths at the start.

 

Soon after the start, YULETIDE (App. Avinash Paswan) shifted out and went across HIGHGROUND (App. Sonu Chouhan) who was marginally slow to begin.

 

Jockey N. S. Parmar (MARATHA ADMIRAL) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his second offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, he has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

Jockey Bhawani Singh (BALENO) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his second offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, he has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

The Stipendiary Stewards are looking into the running of this race and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

RACE NO.8 (50) – THE RAM ZODGE PLATE: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 12

 

At the start, SURREALIST (App. S. Siddharth, dr.1) jumped outwards thereby bumping BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY (K. Nazil, dr.2) at the same time FLOYD (T. S. Jodha, dr.4) shifted in thereby forcing MAJESTICUS (Neeraj Rawal, dr.3) inwards causing the latter to check and drop back.

 

Soon after the start, TIMELESS FORTUNE (Yash Narredu) veered in thereby bumping and tightening STARSEED (Antony Raj S.) causing the latter to check and drop back. After the race, Jockey Yash Narredu reported that his mount veered in, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to show his charge in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting to race.

 

Approaching the 400 metres, TIMELESS FORTUNE (Yash Narredu) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing FLOYD (T. S. Jodha) causing the latter to check and drop back. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey Yash Narredu has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, STARSEED was trotted and found to be sound.

The urine and blood samples of the STORM CLOUD (Winner – 1st race), ATAASH (Winner – 3rd race), BUCKINGHAM (Winner – 4th race), AFRICAN GOLD (Winner – 6th race), PSYCHIC STAR (2nd place – 6th race), LIGHTNING BLAZE (Winner – 7th race) and the special samples of BEE MAGICAL (1st race), ROGUE (2nd race), CHARLIE BROWN (5th race), EVALDO (6th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS:

 

RE: MORNING TRACKWORK HELD ON 26TH DECEMBER 2025:

 

After the race, VILLANELLE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. As such, the filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

RE: RACE NO.3(35) - THE P. D. AVASIA TROPHY  - DIVISION II: RUN ON 21ST DECEMBER 2025.

 

Jockey Neeraj Rawal (ESTEBAN) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount in the above race on 21st December 2025 and being his first offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, he was fined Rs.3,000/-. However, on 25th December 2025 Jockey Neeraj Rawal reported that his mount hung in and he had used the whip as a corrective measure and the same was borne out from the replay of the race. As such, the fine of Rs.3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit has been rescinded.

RE: CONFIRMATORY ANALYSIS REPORT IN RESPECT OF  B. G. “FLASHMAN” (WINNER) IN RACE NO.126 – THE VINAYAK SALVER - RUN ON 12TH OCTOBER 2025:

 

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 28th December 2025 interviewed Trainer Bezan Chenoy regarding the Confirmatory Analysis Report dated 25th December 2025 from Laboratory of Racing Chemistry, Japan, in respect of the sample of blood taken from his charge FLASHMAN (Winner) in Race No.126 – The Vinayak Salver run on 12th October 2025, which read as under:-

 

Test Result “POSITIVE FOR LAMOTRIGINE”.

 

A copy of the above report was handed over to him and he was asked to continue his own enquiries and to lead evidence, if any, to prove mitigating circumstances, within 15 days and to also attend the enquiry to be held by the Stipendiary Stewards and the Sr. Veterinary Officer of the Club, as and when he would be required to.

 

Further, as per the Medication Rules, the Stewards of the Club decided to disqualify FLASHMAN (Winner) in Race No.126 – The Vinayak Salver run on 12th October 2025 and revised the order of placing of the race as under:-.

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 28th December 2025 interviewed Trainer Nazzak B. Chenoy regarding the Confirmatory Analysis Report dated 25th December 2025 from Laboratory of Racing Chemistry, Japan, in respect of the sample of urine taken from her charge SHAMBALA (Winner) in Race No.123 – The Noshir & Dolly Dhunjibhoy Sprint Million (Grade 3) run on 12th October 2025, which read as under:-

 

Test Result “POSITIVE FOR LAMOTRIGINE”.

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 28th December 2025 interviewed Trainer Nazzak B. Chenoy regarding the Confirmatory Analysis Report dated 25th December 2025 from Laboratory of Racing Chemistry, Japan, in respect of the urine and blood samples taken from her charge ATAASH (Winner) in Race No.143 – The Delhi Race Club Trophy run on 2nd November 2025, which read as under:-

 

Test Result “POSITIVE FOR LAMOTRIGINE”.

 

A copy of the above reports was handed over to her and she was asked to continue her own enquiries and to lead evidence, if any, to prove mitigating circumstances, within 15 days and to also attend the enquiry to be held by the Stipendiary Stewards and the Sr. Veterinary Officer of the Club, as and when she would be required to.
