RACE DAY REPORT
RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY AT 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES. 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 9 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES, 11 METRES AWAY AT 600 METRES AND THEREAFTER 12 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.
FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS ARE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1400 METRES, 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.
RACE NO.1 (20) – THE IBRAHIM A. RAHIMTOOLA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 7
RED MERLOT (App. Ramswarup, dr.7) was fractious in the stall. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
DEMETRIUS (N. B. Kuldeep, dr.6) was fractious in the stall. Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Approaching the 300 metres, MAYSARA (A. S. Peter) shifted in thereby tightening and bumping RED MERLOT (App. Ramswarup) causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey A. S. Peter has been fined Rs.5,000/-.
Approaching the 200 metres, BELIEVE (K. Pranil) shifted in under pressure and went across MAYSARA (A. S. Peter) causing the latter to check and change course who further shifted out thereby inconveniencing ARBITRAGE (App. Haridas Gore) racing on its haunches causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey K. Pranil has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Jockey K. Pranil (BELIEVE) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his second offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, he has been fined Rs.5,000/-.
After the race, DEMETRIUS was observed to have a gum injury.
RACE NO.2 (21) – THE JAYANT M. SHAH & CHAMPAK M. SHAH GOLD TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 3
On a request from Trainer Dallas Todywalla, WIND DANCER was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 10:30 a.m. on 6th December 2025 at the stables and was found to have a cut injury on its right upper eyelid. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds.
On arrival at the starting gates, BIG BAY was found to have a gum injury, as the gelding was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and certified fit to race.
BIG BAY (Yash Narredu, dr.2) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
After the race, EAGLE DAY was observed to have a gum injury.
RACE NO.3 (22) – THE SIR RAHIMTOOLA CHINOY CUP: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 8
After being stalled, HAGIBIS (S. A. Amit, dr.7) was fractious and jumped out without the rider. After the race, Jockey S. A. Amit along with Trainer Nirad Karanjawala reported to the Stipendiary Stewards that the Jockey was not ready as the start was effected.
In view of the above incident, a Stewards enquiry was initiated at the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards. The Stewards having viewed the video recording of the incident from all angles and after hearing the submissions made by the Starter, Jockey, in conjunction with the Stipendiary Stewards and acting on their own observation of the start decided to declare HAGIBIS a non-starter and all bets placed on HAGIBIS were ordered to be refunded. However, in view of the behavior of the gelding, Trainer Nirad Karanjawala has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, BRASILIER (P. Trevor, dr.4) jumped out awkwardly and made contact with EKATARINA (Neeraj Rawal, dr.3).
RACE NO.4 (23) – THE A. C. ARDESHIR TROPHY (GRADE 3): (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 7
PRIDE’S PRINCE (K. Pranil, dr.1) was fractious in the stall. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
MOJITO (N. S. Parmar, dr.2) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, SANTISSIMO (P. Trevor, dr.6) jumped out awkwardly and had to be steadied.
Approaching the 1200 metres, PSYCHIC STAR (Vivek G.) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing PRIDE’S PRINCE (K. Pranil) racing on its haunches causing the latter to be checked. Jockey Vivek G. has been cautioned.
In the final stages of the race, SANTISSIMO (P. Trevor) shifted in thereby tightening PRIDE’S PRINCE (K. Pranil) racing along the rails. Jockey P. Trevor has been cautioned.
After the race, SANTISSIMO was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have an injury on its left hind bulb of heel.
RACE NO.5 (24) – THE PRINCE KARIM AGA KHAN IV MEMORIAL TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 12
ELEVATE (Yash Narredu, dr.6) was fractious in the stall. Trainer Deepesh Narredu has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race
MARGARETTA (App. Kirtish Bhagad, dr.5) was fractious and reared up in the stall. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race
ALEXIOS (App. Haridas Gore, dr.7) lost about two lengths at the start.
MARGARETTA (App. Kirtish Bhagad, dr.5) jumped out awkwardly.
At the start, LADY SCARLET (A. Sandesh, dr.10) jumped out thereby carrying PUCCINI (P. Trevor, dr.11) outwards causing the latter to be steadied.
After the race, the bit used on INVICTOR (S. Zervan) was observed to have shifted to one side. After questioning the Jockey concerned, Trainer Altamaash A. Ahmed has been fined Rs.1,000/- for his lapse.
After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (LADY SCARLET) reported that his mount was running green throughout the race. This being the first outing of the filly, no action has been initiated.
After the race, the Sr. V.O. reported the following:
INVICTOR was trotted and found to be sound.
MARGARETTA was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have a gum injury.
RACE NO.6 (25) – THE SAMUEL NATHAN PLATE: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 6
At the start, WE STILL BELIEVE (K. Pranil, dr.3) jumped outwards at the same time YOU (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.5) jumped inwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing SENTINEL (App. Bharat Singh, dr.4) drawn between them causing the latter to be steadied. Jockey K. Pranil and App. Aditya Waydande have been cautioned.
Approaching the 800 metres, JETFIRE (S. P. Ranjane) leaned in onto SENTINEL (App. Bharat Singh) who further shifted in thereby tightening SAMSON (App. Mustakim Alam) racing along the rails causing the latter to be steadied.
After the race, the Sr. V.O. reported the following:
SENTINEL was trotted and found to be sound.
SAMSON was observed to have an injury on its both hind fetlock.

The urine and blood samples of the BIG BAY (Winner – 2nd race), PSYCHIC STAR (Winner – 4th race), ONCE YOU GO BLACK (2nd place – 4th race) & NEBULA (Winner – 5th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.

On a request from Trainer Narendra Lagad, an endoscopy was performed on LUCKY DIAMOND on 5th December 2025, at the Equine Hospital and was diagnosed to have upper respiratory tract infection.
