MUMBAI MEETING 2025/26, FIRST DAY, SUNDAY, 30TH NOVEMBER, 2025.

 (PENETROMETER: 4.0 (LONGCHAMP METHOD); GOING: GOOD)

 

RACE DAY REPORT

 

RAILS WERE PLACED ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 4 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.

 

FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from S. Waheed, permission was granted to Trainer Vijay Kasbekar to saddle his charges BEYOND STARS in the 4th race and EXOTIC STAR in the 7th race, at his own (Trainer S. Waheed’s) risk and responsibility.

 

RACE NO.1 (7) – THE A. CAMPBELL TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

MANOR HOUSE was not declared to start after accepting with the gelding due to late realization of medication that had been logged. As such, Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been fined Rs.5,000/- for his lapse and the gelding was subjected to sampling.

 

Soon after the start, AZURE (Antony Raj S.) shifted out under urgings and went across TIMELESS FORTUNE (App. A. Omkar) causing the latter to check and change course. Jockey Antony Raj S. has been cautioned. After the race, Jockey Antony Raj S. reported that his mount was inclined outwards throughout the race, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

Approaching the 1000 metres, TIMELESS FORTUNE (App. A. Omkar) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing SCARAMOUCHE (A. Sandesh) racing along the rails causing the latter to check and drop back. After questioning and not being satisfied , App A. Omkar has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Jockey Shrikant Kamble (BREAK POINT) was observed to have used the whip in an improper manner approaching the 400 metres. As such, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, the Sr. V.O. reported the following:

 

LORD ERIC, DENSETSU & BREAK POINT were trotted and found to be sound.

 

AZURE was observed to have lost its left hind shoe.

 

RACE NO.2 (8) – THE D. J. SURTI SALVER: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

At the start, HEAVEN’S RHYTHM (Yash Narredu, dr.6) jumped outwards and made contact LIFE IS LIFE (K. Nazil, dr.7).

 

Soon after the start, RAFAEL (A. Sandesh) was observed to have lost its footing and stumble.

 

Approaching the 100 metres, HOUSE OF LORDS (App. Avinash Paswan) leaned in onto SURREALIST (P. Trevor) racing along the rails, causing the latter to be steadied. App. Avinash Paswan has been cautioned.

 

After the race, the Sr. V.O. reported the following:

 

SURREALIST & LIFE IS LIFE were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RAFAEL was observed to have a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.3 (9) – THE R. R. BYRAMJI SALVER: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

ENDURANCE (C. S. Jodha, dr.5) took a fly jump and lost about a length at the start.

 

At the start, TYRANNUS (Antony Raj S., dr.1) jumped outwards onto LOOKING LIKE A WOW (App. Ramswarup, dr.2).

 

At the start, DEDICATION (Neeraj Rawal, dr.6) jumped inwards and went across ENDURANCE (C. S. Jodha, dr.5) thereby forcing ROSARIO( P.Trevor, dr 4 ) onto BUGATTI ( Kritish Bhagat , dr 3 ) causing the latter to be steadied.

 

After the race, Jockey Antony Raj S. (TYRANNUS) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey Antony Raj S. (TYRANNUS) was observed to have used the whip in an improper manner approaching the 400 metres. As such, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, TYRANNUS was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4 (10) – THE GENTLEMAN'S TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 10 

 

RED MERLOT (App. Avinash Paswan, dr.1) threw its head up at the start.

 

At the start, CHELSEA (App. Sonu Chouhan, dr.3) jumped outwards at the same RIPTIDE (N. S. Parmar, dr.5) jumped inwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing EXCITING (K. Pranil, dr.4) drawn between them, who marginally slow to begin.

 

After the race, EXCITING was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. As such, the filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, the Sr. V.O. reported the following:

 

DONATELLA was trotted and found to be sound.

 

DIEGO GARCIA was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have a gum injury. Further, at the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards an endoscopy was performed on the colt at the saddling enclosure and was diagnosed to have EIPH (Gr.1).

 

After the race, at the request of Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait an endoscopy was performed on RIPTIDE at the saddling enclosure and was diagnosed to have EIPH (Gr.1).

 

After the race, at the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards an endoscopy was performed on DONATELLA at the saddling enclosure and was found to have respiratory infection.

 

After the race, at the request of Trainer M. Narredu an endoscopy was performed on BETWEEN LANDS at the saddling enclosure and was found to have respiratory infection.

 

RACE NO.5 (11) – THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

On a request from Trainer Karthik Ganapathy, BASHIR was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 06:40 p.m. on 29th November 2025 at the stables and was found to be sore by right fore limb. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race, was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

STORMY SEA (N. S. Parmar, dr.4) lost about two lengths at the start.

 

SINGER SARGENT (C. Umesh, dr.6) lost about a length at the start.

 

WESTERN STAR (Mustakim Alam) was extremely fractious and reluctant on its way to the starting gates thereby causing considerable delay in the start of the race. In view of the colt’s behavior, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been fined Rs.5,000/- and asked to school his charge to reach the starting gate in a timely manner.

 

WESTERN STAR (Mustakim Alam, dr.5) was fractious in the stall. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the colt to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.  

 

WESTERN STAR (Mustakim Alam, dr.5) was observed to have drifted out under pressure in the final stages of the race. As such, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked take remedial measures, before next accepting to race

 

After the race, Jockey K. Prainl (OPUS DEI) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey Mukesh Kumar (FOURTH WING) reported loss of whip passing the 400 metres. This being his first instance during the current Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, no action has been initiated.

 

After the race, the Sr. V.O. reported the following:

 

STORMY SEA was trotted and found to be sound.

 

WESTERN STAR was observed to have a gum injury on the hard palate.

 

RACE NO.6 (12) – THE CAPTAIN G. HALL TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

MINISTRY OF TIME was not declared to start after accepting with the filly due to late realization of medication that had been logged. As such, Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been fined Rs.5,000/- for his lapse and the gelding was subjected to sampling.

 

CHARLIE BROWN (Antony Raj S., dr.6) was observed to be hanging out in the final stages of the race, despite the rider’s efforts. In view of the gelding’s behavior, Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to show his charge in a Mock Race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting the race.

 

RACE NO.7 (13) –THE V. R. MENON PLATE: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

EXOTIC STAR (K. Pranil, dr.2) refused to be stalled. Trainer S. Waheed has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning stating trails, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, EXOTIC STAR (K. Pranil, dr.2) jumped outwards and made contact with LEO THE LION (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.3).

 

At the start, JAGGER (App. A. Omkar, dr.4) jumped, veered out and made contact with SPEAK THE BREED (Antony Raj S., dr.6). Trainer Beram Cama has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, App. A. Omkar (JAGGER) reported that his mount hung-in in the final stages of the race. As such, Trainer Behram Cama has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey C. S. Jodha (THE FLUTIST) was observed to have used the whip in an improper manner approaching the 300 metres. As such, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

The urine and blood samples of the winner of the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th & 7th race, viz. SCARAMOUCHE, BAYCHIMO, VEGATHA, WESTERN STAR & EXOTIC STAR and the special samples of DENSETSU & MANOR HOUSE (1st race), SURREALIST (2nd race), DIEGO GARCIA (4th race), EARTH (5th race), MINISTRY OF TIME (6th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS:

 

RE: POSITIVE REPORT IN THE POST RACE BLOOD SAMPLE OF B. G. “FLASHMAN” (WINNER) IN RACE NO.126 – THE VINAYAK SALVER – RUN ON 12TH OCTOBER 2025 UNDER THE CHARGE OF TRAINER BEZAN CHENOY:

 

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 30th November 2025, interviewed Trainer Bezan Chenoy, in connection with the Positive Report dated 7th November 2025 issued by Quantilab, Mauritius, pertaining to the post-race blood sample of his charge b. g. FLASHMAN (Winner) in Race No. 126 - The Vinayak Salver run on 12th October 2025, which states as follows:-

 

“The analysis of the above sample has shown the presence of Lamotrigine”

 

At the said meeting, Trainer Bezan Chenoy was provided with a copy of the aforementioned reports as per the rules as also a copy of the quantification of this substance received from Quantilab, Mauritius. He was requested to inform the Sr. Veterinary Officer of the Club, in writing, whether he wishes to send the "B" sample for Confirmatory Analysis within 48 hours of opening the envelope identifying the sample, i.e., no later than 2nd December 2025, and also indicate his choice of laboratory for the Confirmatory Analysis of the split sample of his charge FLASHMAN. The available laboratories for such analysis are: The Hong Kong Jockey Club Laboratory, Hong Kong; LGC, Newmarket U.K.; Laboratoire Des Courses Hippiques (L.C.H.), France; Laboratory of Racing Chemistry (LRC), Japan. Failure to comply within the stipulated period shall result in the Stewards treating the report of the Primary Laboratory as final and conclusive.

 

Additionally, he will be required to ensure the presence of the Witnessing Analyst, if he so desires, at the laboratory conducting the Confirmatory Analysis within 7 days of the nomination. In the event that he is unable to arrange for the presence of the Witnessing Analyst within the said period, notwithstanding the nomination, the Confirmatory Analysis shall proceed in the absence of the Witnessing Analyst.

 

Further, in accordance with the Medication Rules presently in force, he is hereby informed that 50% of his runners shall be subjected to follow-up samples.

RE: POSITIVE REPORT IN THE POST RACE URINE AND BLOOD SAMPLE OF B. M. “ATAASH” (WINNER) IN RACE NO.143 – THE DELHI RACE CLUB TROPHY – RUN= ON 2ND NOVEMBER 2025 UNDER THE CHARGE OF TRAINER NAZZAK B. CHENOY:

 

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 30th November 2025, interviewed Trainer Nazzak B. Chenoy, in connection with the Positive Report dated 26th November 2025 issued by Quantilab, Mauritius, pertaining to the post-race urine and blood sample of her charge b. m. ATAASH (Winner) in Race No. 143 - The Delhi Race Club Trophy run on 2nd November 2025, which states as follows:-

 

“The analysis of the above sample has shown the presence of Lamotrigine”

 

At the said meeting, Trainer Nazzak B. Chenoy was provided with a copy of the aforementioned reports as per the  rules. She was requested to inform the Sr. Veterinary Officer of the Club, in writing, whether she wishes to send the "B" sample for Confirmatory Analysis within 48 hours of opening the envelope identifying the sample, i.e., no later than 2nd December 2025, and also indicate her choice of laboratory for the Confirmatory Analysis of the split sample of her charge ATAASH.
