RACE DAY REPORT
RAILS WERE PLACED AT THE ORIGINAL POSITION.
On a request from Trainer S. Waheed, permission was granted to Trainer Vijay Kasbekar to saddle his charges ESCONIDO in the 4th race and WE STILL BELIEVE in the 6th race, at his own (Trainer S. Waheed’s) risk and responsibility.
RACE NO.1 (1) – THE WELCOME TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 7
At the start, LION KING (C. Umesh, dr.5) jumped inwards and went across REMY RED (K. Nazil, dr.4) who had to be steadied.
Passing the 500 metres, YOU (H. M. Akshay) shifted out under urgings thereby inconveniencing LORD MURPHY (P. Vinod). After the race, Jockey H. M. Akshay reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, Jockey P. Viond (LORD MURPHY) reported that his mount was weakening and did not raise the fluent gallop, the gelding was subjected to veterinary examination and was found to be sound. In view of the same, Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, Jockey K. Nazil (REMY RED) reported that his mount was not raising a fluent gallop, the gelding was subjected to veterinary examination and was found to be sound. Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
The saddle used on SOCIAL BUTTERFLY (A. Sandesh) was observed to have slipped passing the 400 metres. This being the first instance of faulty saddling during the current Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Jockey K. Pranil (ABSOLUTE GORGEOUS) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
The V.O. reported the following:
After the race, LORD MURPHY was trotted and found to be sound.
REMY RED was trotted at the stables on 28th November 2025 and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2 (2) – THE K. J. K. IRANI PLATE: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 4
Approaching the 100 metres, ULTIMO (R. Ajinkya) leaned out at the same FYNBOS (P. Trevor) shifted in under pressure and they made contact. Jockey’s R. Ajinkya and P Trevor have been cautioned.
RACE NO.3 (3) – THE KIARA PLATE: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 7
Soon after the start, KINGS GAMBIT (A. Prakash) shifted in, went across SPANISH EYES (P. Trevor) who was marginally slow to begin and made contact with ESTEBAN (App. Mustakim Alam). Jockey A. Prakash has been cautioned.
Approaching the 300 metres, SPANISH EYES (P. Trevor) was observed to have been held up for room and had to be steadied.
After the race, Jockey Antony Raj S. (AXLROD) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Behram Cama has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, the V.O. reported the following:
SPANISH EYES was observed to have a gum injury.
AXLROD was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.4 (4) – THE P. B. AVASIA PLATE : (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 9
It was observed that all the horses participating in this race came late into the paddock thereby causing a delay in the start of the race. As such, all the Trainers who had runners in this race have been fined Rs.1,000/- each for the lapse.
Jockey P. Trevor (NAMIRI) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for weighing out late thereby causing a delay in the start of the race.
ESCONIDO (K. Pranil, dr.6) planted in the stall and lost considerable ground at the start. Trainer S. Waheed has been asked to give his more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.
At the start, MACHIAVELLIAN (Antony Raj S., dr.8) jumped outwards onto MARIUS (A. Prakash, dr.9) causing the latter to shy outwards.
At the start, NAMIRI (P. Trevor, dr.2) jumped outwards onto LITTLE JOHN (A. Sandesh, dr.3) who had to be steadied.
Passing the 1500 metres, PHANTASMIQUE (Neeraj Rawal) veered out and went across FLOYD (App. Ramswarup) causing the latter to be checked thereafter PHANTASMIQUE raced on the extreme outside and trailed the field. In view of the filly’s behavior, Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to show his charge in a Mock Race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting the race.
Passing the 1200 metres, NAMIRI (P. Trevor) shifted out thereby bumping and forcing LITTLE JOHN (A. Sandesh) outwards, thereafter passing the 900 metres, NAMIRI leaned inwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing MACHIAVELLIAN (Antony Raj S.). After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey P. Trevor has been fined Rs.5,000/-.
After the race, Jockey K. Pranil (ESCONIDO) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer S. Waheed has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

RACE NO.5 (5) – THE ROYAL CALCUTTA TURF CLUB TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 6
At the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, IT’S MY TIME (P. Trevor) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. on arrival at the starting gates, who certified the gelding fit to race.
Soon after the start, DIVINE STAR (N. S. Parmar) racing between IT’S MY TIME (P. Trevor) and SON OF A GUN (App. Mustakim Alam) was tightened for room, had to check and change course.
Soon after the start, MARKET KING (Antony Raj S.) leaned inwards onto SON OF A GUN (App. Mustakim Alam) who in turn shifted in and made contact with IT’S MY TIME (P. Trevor). After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey Antony Raj S. has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Approaching the 300 metres, DIVINE STAR (N. S. Parmar) shifted in under urgings and went across CREDENCE (App. Ramswarup) causing the latter to check and change course. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey N. S. Parmar has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
Approaching the 200 metres, CREDENCE (App. Ramswarup) shifted out under pressure thereby carrying MARKET KING (Antony Raj S.) and IT’S MY TIME (P. Trevor) outwards. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, App. Ramswarup has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
After the race, the V.O. reported the following:
IT’S MY TIME & DIVINE STAR were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6 (6) – THE M. D. PETIT PLATE: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 6
At the start, SAMSON (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.5) jumped outwards brushing the gates resulting in the rider being dislodged. After the race, on examining the saddle it was found that the left stirrup iron had broken.
After the race, App. Bharat Singh (APPLAUSE) reported that his mount hung out in the final stages of the race. Trainer Altamaash A. Ahmed has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “LORD MURPHY” (APP. ADITYA WAYDANDE) (DRAWN 6) IN RACE NO. 100 THE INDIARACE.COM CUP (DIST. 1400 MTRS) RUN ON 27TH SEPTEMBER 2025:
In connection with the captioned subject matter, the Stipendiary Stewards at their meeting held on Monday, 6th October 2025, having considered all the submissions made by App. Aditya Waydande and his Master Trainer Shazaan Shah and having viewed the video recording of the Race in question along with the previous runs of the mare as also Winning Races of App. Aditya Waydande, the Stipendiary Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by him.
The Stipendiary Stewards noted that his instructions were to take a good jump, sit in the front bunch and do his best. After the start, even though the mare jumped out slowly, it was observed that he made not visible efforts to improve his position in the early part of the Race and in the straight his riding efforts were found to be wanting as compared to his riding efforts on winning rides thereby placing his mount at a disadvantage.
On questioning, he stated that he got interfered by TAABIR as the start was affected and had to check his mount thereby couldn’t catch up with the front runners even though he tried but the replay of the race suggests otherwise and his efforts seem feeble.
Not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by App. Aditya Waydande, taking into account Trainer Shazaan Shah’s agreement with the contentions of the Stipendiary Stewards of not being satisfied with his riding. The Stipendiary Stewards held him guilty for “Injudicious riding” and have decided to suspend his Apprentice Jockeys Licence for first two race days of the Mumbai Meeting 2025/26 i.e. on 27th & 30th November 2025 (permitted to ride work / mock race).

RE: POSITIVE REPORT IN THE POST RACE URINE SAMPLE OF CH. C. “SHAMBALA” (WINNER) IN RACE NO.123 – THE NOSHIR AND DOLLY DHUNJIBHOY SPRINT MILLION (GR. 3) – RUN ON 12TH OCTOBER 2025 UNDER THE CHARGE OF TRAINER NAZZAK B. CHENOY:
The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Tuesday, 25th November 2025, interviewed Trainer Nazzak B. Chenoy along with Mrs. Bakhtawar B. Chenoy, in connection with the Positive Report dated 7th November 2025 issued by Quantilab, Mauritius, pertaining to the post-race urine sample of her charge ch. c. SHAMBALA (Winner) in Race No. 123 The Noshir & Dolly Dhunjibhoy Sprint Million (Gr.3) run on 12th October 2025, which states as follows:-
“The analysis of the above sample has shown the presence of Lamotrigine”
At the said meeting, Trainer Nazzak B. Chenoy was provided with a copy of the aforementioned report as per rules. She was requested to inform the Sr. Veterinary Officer of the Club, in writing, whether she wish to send the "B" sample for Confirmatory Analysis within 48 hours of opening the envelope identifying the sample, i.e., no later than 27th November 2025, and also indicate her choice of laboratory for the Confirmatory Analysis of the split sample of her charge SHAMBALA. The available laboratories for such analysis are: The Hong Kong Jockey Club Laboratory, Hong Kong; LGC, Newmarket U.K.; Laboratoire Des Courses Hippiques (L.C.H.), France; Laboratory of Racing Chemistry (LRC), Japan. Failure to comply within the stipulated period shall result in the Stewards treating the report of the Primary Laboratory as final and conclusive.
Additionally, she will be required to ensure the presence of the Witnessing Analyst, if she so desire, at the laboratory conducting the Confirmatory Analysis within 30 days of the nomination. In the event that she is unable to arrange for the presence of the Witnessing Analyst within the said period, notwithstanding the nomination, the Confirmatory Analysis shall proceed in the absence of the Witnessing Analyst.
