PUNE MEETING 2025, SPECIAL RACE DAY, FRIDAY, 24TH, OCTOBER, 2025.

 

 (PENETROMETER: 4.4 (LONGCHAMP METHOD); GOING: GOOD)

 

RACE DAY REPORT

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES WIDE FROM 1600 METRES TO 1000 METRES  THEREAFTER RAILS WERE PLACED AT ORIGINAL POSITION UP TO THE WINNING  POST. RAILS WERE PLACED 4 METERS WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

 

On a request from Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain, permission was granted to Trainer Vinesh to saddle his charge MANOR HOUSE in the 5th race, at his own (Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain’s) risk and responsibility.

 

On a request from Trainer James E. Mckeown, permission was granted to Trainer Subhag Singh to saddle his charge AKITANIA in the 2nd race, at his own (Trainer James E. Mckeown’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (134) – THE A. J. WADIA PLATE: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

MADISON (K. Pranil, dr.2) threw its head up at the start.

 

After the race, Jockey K. Pranil (MADISON) reported that his mount was not galloping fluently. As such, the gelding was subjected to veterinary examination and was found to be sound.

 

After the race, YULETIDE & TALKING POINT were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2 (135) – THE MADDOX PLATE: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

On a request of Trainer Narendra Lagad, HOUSE OF LORDS was examined by the Club’s V.O. at 07:45 p.m. on 21st October 2025 at the stables and was found to have fever. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race, was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds.

 

RAFAEL (App Ramswarup, dr.1) was fractious and reared up in the stall. As such, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.  

 

At the start, VIENNOISE (App. A. Omkar, dr.7) lost its footing and stumbled.

 

At the start, AKITANIA (App. Ritesh Gochhi, dr.3) jumped outwards onto FOXY (A. Sandesh, dr.4) who further leaned out and made contact with JETFIRE (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.5) who was marginally slow to begin.

 

Soon after the start, YOU (Mukesh Kumar) shifted in under urgings thereby carrying VIENNOISE (App. A. Omkar) inwards who in turn went across ARIES (App. Bharat Singh) causing the latter to be steadied. Jockey Mukesh Kumar has been cautioned.

 

Soon after the start, RAFAEL (App. Ramswarup) veered out thereby carrying MAJESTIC WARRIOR (App. Avinash Paswan) outwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing AKITANIA (App. Ritesh Gochhi) causing the latter to check and change course.

 

After the race, App Ramswarup (RAFAEL) reported that his mount was inclined outwards around the bend and in the straight, despite his efforts, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, AKITANIA & VIENNOISE were trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that MAJESTIC WARRIOR had right eye injury (sore).

 

RACE NO.3 (136) – THE TO THE MANOR BORN PLATE - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

On a request of Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha, CLAUDE was examined by the Club’s V.O. at 06:40 p.m. on 23rd October 2025 at the stables and was found to have fever. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race, was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds.

 

At the start, AMERICAN EAGLE (S. Mosin, dr.4) jumped outwards at the same time RENOIR (A. Prakash, dr.6) jumped inwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing SEMURG (Amyn Merchant, dr.5) drawn between them causing the latter to be steadied. 

 

Approaching the 200 metres, SEMURG (Amyn Merchant) shifted in under pressure and went across JAISALMER (Santosh G.) thereby carrying MAJESTICUS (Neeraj Rawal) inwards. Jockey Amyn Merchant has been cautioned.

 

RACE NO.4 (137) – THE SHAMU CHAVAN SALVER - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

On arrival at the starting gates, on a request from Jockey Santosh G. (SANDS OF DUBAI) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified the gelding fit to race.

 

At the start, COME SEPTEMBER (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.2) threw its head up and jumped outwards onto SUSSING (S. A. Amit, dr.3) causing the latter to be steadied.

 

Soon after the start, SANDS OF DUBAI (Santosh G.) shifted in and went across BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY (K. Nazil) who had to be steadied.

 

Approaching the 1400 metres, DUESENBERG (C. Umesh) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing COME SEPTEMBER (App. Mustakim Alam) along the rails causing the latter to be checked. Jockey C. Umesh has been cautioned.

 

SUSSING (S. A. Amit) was observed to have trailed the field. The mare was subjected to veterinary examination and was found to be sound. As such, Trainer Nirad Karanjawala has been asked to ensure that his charge puts up a reasonable performance in the future.

 

After the race, BEYOND STARS, JAGGER, SUSSING & SANDS OF DUBAI were trotted and found to be sound. ABSOLUTE GORGEOUS was trotted at the stables and was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5 (138) – THE P. HADOW TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 10

 

At the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, JOHNNY MAC (A. Prakash) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. on arrival at the starting gate, who certified him fit to race.

 

Approaching the 200 metres, GHIRARDELLI (App. Ramswarup) drifted out under pressure thereby carrying ABHICANDRA (A. Sandesh) and LIAM (App. A. Omkar) outwards. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, App. Ramswarup has been fined Rs. 2,000/- for failing to take corrective measures.

 

After the race, Jockey S. G. Prasad (MANOR HOUSE) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts, Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, App. Ramswarup (GHIRARDELLI) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight, despite his efforts, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, JOHNNY MAC was trotted and found to be sound. MANOR HOUSE was observed to have an injury on its left hind bulb of heel.

 

RACE NO.6 (139) – THE SHAMU CHAVAN SALVER - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

EMBER TOWER (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.6) planted in the stall and did not take any practical part in the race. Trainer B. Prithviraj has been asked to give his charge more gate practice show the colt in a Mock Race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.

 

After being stalled, HAGIBIS (S. A. Amit, dr.1) was fractious and was standing awkwardly in the stall. As such, Trainer Nirad Karanjawala has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.  

 

Approaching the 200 metres, LITTLE JOHN (Antony Raj S.) drifted out under pressure thereby carrying EXCITING (Vivek G.) outwards thereafter approaching 100 metres, LITTLE JOHN further drifted out and carried EXCITING outwards. Jockey Antony Raj S. has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey C. Umesh (VINCERO) reported that his mount was running erratic throughout the race, despite his efforts. Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race

 

After the race, LITTLE JOHN was observed to have an injury on its right hind pastern.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that TREASURE GOLD had left eye injury (sore) and ulcer in right eye.

 

RACE NO.7 (140) –THE TO THE MANOR BORN PLATE - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

At the start, MARIUS (R. Ajinkya, dr.7) jumped onto BEAT THE HEAT (S. A. Amit, dr.8) who had to be steadied.

 

MARIUS (R. Ajinkya) was observed to have trailed the field.

 

BEAT THE HEAT (S. A. Amit) was observed to have trailed the field. As such, Trainer Nirad Karanjawala has been asked to ensure that his charge puts up a reasonable performance in the future.

 

After the race, MARIUS & BEAT THE HEAT were trotted and found to be sound.

 

After the race, MAGICAL MOMENTS was observed to have injury on its left hind pastern and fetlock.

 

RACE NO.8 (141) – THE STAR MILLIONAIRE PLATE: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

HIGHGROUND (A. Prakash, dr.6) lost about a length at the start.

 

After the race, Jockey Santosh G. (CONTINENTAL DRIFT) reported that his mount was inclined outwards throughout the race, despite his efforts. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, CELESTINA was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. As such, the filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, CELESTINA was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right hind. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that HIGHGROUND had right eye injury (sore).

The urine and blood samples of the winner of the 1st, 4th, 7th & 8th race, viz. LION KING, COME SEPTEMBER, HAZEL & SAMSON and the special samples of AKITANIA (2nd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
