RACE DAY REPORT
RAILS WERE
PLACED 3 METRES WIDE FROM 1600 METRES TO 1400 METRES. THEREAFTER, 5 METRES UPTO
THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE PLACED 4 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.
On a request
from Trainer Dr. Anil Kumar, permission was granted to Trainer Hoisdar Daji to saddle his charge
LIBAN in the 4th race, at his own (Trainer Dr. Anil Kumar’s)
risk and responsibility.
RACE NO.1
(127) – THE GOLD BAG PLATE: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 7
ALEXANDRIA
(S. Zervan, dr.1) lost about three lengths at the
start. As Such, Trainer Altamaash A. Ahmed has been
asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the
satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting
to race.
At the
start, MA CHERIE (S. J. Sunil, dr.7) jumped outwards and had to be steadied.
At the
start, FLOYD (T. S. Jodha, dr.6) jumped inwards onto
THE FLUTIST (C. S. Jodha, dr.5) who in turn shifted
in thereby inconveniencing LEO THE LION (App. Mustakim
Alam, dr.4) who was marginally slow to begin.
Approaching
the 800 metres, SPEAK THE BREED (Antony Raj S.)
shifted out and made contact with MA CHERIE (S. J. Sunil). Jockey Antony Raj S.
has been cautioned.
Passing the
500 metres, Jockey Antony Raj S. (SPEAK THE BREED)
was observed to have used the whip in an improper manner on his mount. After
questioning Jockey Antony Raj S. and not being satisfied with the explanation
also keeping in mind his past offence of a similar nature, he has been fined
Rs.5,000/-.
Passing the
400 metres, BALENO (S. A. Amit) and THE FLUTIST (C.
S. Jodha) were observed to have jostled. Jockey’s S.
A. Amit and C. S. Jodha have been cautioned.
Approaching
the 300 metres, SPEAK THE BREED (Antony Raj S.) was
observed to have dropped back and thereafter stopped galloping. As such, the filly was subjected to veterinary
examination and was found to have broken a blood vessel and is not permitted to
race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by
the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the
race, the Sr. V.O. reported the following:
MA CHERIE
was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have an injury on its
left hind cannon.
BALENO was
trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have an injury on its right
hind coronet.
The Equine
Hospital reported that ALEXANDRIA had left eye injury (sore).
RACE NO.2
(128) – THE ENIGMA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 4
At the
start, MOJITO (N. S. Parmar, dr.2) jumped inwards and
made contact with MADAM RICH (Vivek G., dr.1)
At the
start, SHUBANKAR (App. Bharat Singh, dr.4) was observed to have lost its
footing and stumble.
After the
race, Jockey Vivek G. (MADAM RICH) reported that his
mount was not galloping fluently. As such, the mare was subjected to veterinary
examination and was found to be sore by right fore, the mare has to be passed
fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
The Equine
Hospital reported that MADAM RICH had right eye injury (sore).
RACE NO.3
(129) – THE OAKWOOD RESIDENCE PUNE TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 8
At the start, PRINCE IGOR (App. Avinash Paswan dr.3) jumped inwards at the same time MOJO (App. Ritesh Gochhi, dr.1) jumped
outwards thereby bumping and tightening ETOILE (S. Mosin,
dr.2) drawn between them causing the latter to be checked.
Approaching the 500 metres, EMPOWER (T. S. Jodha) racing on the haunches of ARIYANA STAR (Antony Raj
S.) was denied a clear passage and had to check and drop back as a result
ETOILE (S. Mosin) racing directly behind EMPOWER also
had to be checked.
After the race, App. Avinash Paswan (PRINCE IGOR) reported that his mount hung-in in the
straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures, before next
accepting to race.
After the race, ETOILE was observed to have an injury on its right fore cannon.
The Equine
Hospital reported that PRINCE IGOR had left eye injury (sore).
RACE NO.4
(130) – THE DAKSHIN MAHARASHTRA & GOA SUB-AREA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES
– RUNNERS - 8
On arrival
at the starting gates, at the request of Jockey Amyn
Merchant the saddle used on his mount DESTROYER was checked and re-adjusted.
On arrival
at the starting gates, at the request of Jockey C. Umesh
the saddle used on his mount EMPEROR RODERIC was checked and re-adjusted.
At the
start, RAMBLER (P. Vinod, dr.5) jumped outwards onto
EMPEROR RODERIC (C. Umesh, dr.6).
At the
start, BASHIR (Antony Raj S., dr.8) jumped inwards and made contact with
DESTROYER (Amyn Merchant, dr.7).
Jockey N. S.
Parmar (FIGHTON) was observed to have used the whip
in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence
during the current Pune Meeting 2025, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
After the
race, the Sr. V.O. reported the following:
DESTROYER
was trotted at the stables and was found to be sound.
EMPEROR
RODERIC was observed to have lost its left hind shoe.
The Equine
Hospital reported that BASHIR had both eye injuries (sore).
RACE NO.5
(131) – THE ROYAL BARBERSHOP TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 13
After being stalled, DISCIPLINED (Neeraj Rawal, dr.6) was fractious
and reared up thereby injuring its rider who was declared unfit to ride. As
such, the gelding was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under starter
order. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha
has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to
the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next
accepting to race.
RED DUST (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.8) lost about a length at the start.
SEINA (C. Umesh,
dr.11) lost about a length at the start.
Approaching the 600 metres,
RIPTIDE (Antony Raj S.) leaned outwards and went across OTELLO (K. Nazil) causing the latter to be checked thereafter RIPTIDE
shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing PRECIOSO (T. S. Jodha) who had to be checked. After questioning and not
being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey Antony Raj S. has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
Approaching the 400 metres,
due to a tightly packed field MARCUS (App. Mustakim Alam) was denied a clear passage and had to be steadied.
Approaching the 200 metres,
RED DUST (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.8) shifted out
onto PRECIOSO (T. S. Jodha, dr.1). App. Aditya Waydande has been cautioned.
After the race, ARLINGTON HEIGHTS was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O.
and was found to be sore by right fore. The filly has to be passed fit by the
Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, the Sr. V.O. reported the following:
ASHWA GYPSY was observed to have an injury on its left hind pastern.
LA DOLCE VITA was trotted and found to be sound.
PRECIOSO was observed to have an injury
on its right fore arm.
RACE NO.6
(132) – THE DR. P. K. SARDESHMUKH MAHARAJ TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS

At the start, ESTEBAN (Neeraj Rawal, dr.7) jumped outwards and went across REGAL GALLERIA
(App. Haridas Gore, dr.8) who was marginally slow to
begin and inconvenienced AR FIRST STAR (S. J. Sunil, dr.9).
Soon after the start, SANTANA ROW (C. S. Jodha)
shifted in and went across TOUCH OF MYSTIC (S. A. Amit) who had to be checked
thereafter SANTANA ROW further shifted in thereby tightening and
inconveniencing AGATHA (S. Mosin) who had to be
checked. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey
C. S. Jodha has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
After the race, Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe (SOUTH BEACH) reported that his mount was inclined outwards
in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer M. K. Jadhav
has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, Jockey C. Umesh (EPIC
ENDEAVOUR) reported that his mount was running green throughout the race.
Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has
been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, SOUTH BEACH was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.7
(133) –THE D. N. ZODGE PLATE: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 6
FLAMING
LAMBORGINI (App. A. Omkar, dr.1) planted in the stall
and did not take any practical part in the race. As Such, Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to
give his charge more gate practice and show the rig in a Mock Race to the
satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.
SUBSTANTIAL
(A. Sandesh, dr.6) jumped out brushing the gates.
Approaching
the 700 metres, KAVYA (N. S. Parmar)
shifted out and made contact with BLACK THUNDER (App. Aditya Waydande). Jockey N. S. Parmar
has been cautioned.
Passing the
500 metres, MANSA MUSA (A. Prakash) shifted out and
carried BLACK THUNDER (App. Aditya Waydande)
outwards. Jockey A. Prakash has been cautioned.
After the
race, App Aditya Waydande (BLACK THUNDER) reported
loss of whip approaching the 200 metres. This being
his third instance during the current Pune Meeting 2025, the matter has been
reported to the Stewards for such action as they deem fit.
After the
race, SUBSTANTIAL was trotted and found to be sound. Further, at the behest of
the Stipendiary Stewards, endoscopy was performed on the filly at the saddling
enclosure and found to have EIPH (Gr. II).
The Equine
Hospital reported that SHIRSA had left eye injury (sore).

The urine and blood samples of the winner of the 1st, 2nd,
6th & 7th race, viz. FLOYD, PRIDE’S PRINCE, ESTEBAN
& KAVYA, and the special samples of SPEAK THE BREED (1st race),
MADAM RICH (2nd race) & SUBSTANTIAL (7th race), were
collected for detection of prohibited substances.
