RACE DAY REPORT
RAILS WERE
PLACED AT THEIR ORIGINAL POSITION FROM 1600 METRES TO 1400 METRES 2 METRES WIDE
AT 1200 METRES. 4 METRES WIDE AT 1000 METRES, 6 METRES WIDE AT 800 METRES, 7
METRES WIDE AT 600 METRES, 8 METRES WIDE AT 400 METRES, THEREAFTER RAILS WERE
PLACED 9 METRES WIDE UP TO THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES WIDE IN
THE CHUTE.
On a request
from Trainer Dr. Anil Kumar, permission was granted to
Trainer Hosidar Daji to saddle his charge LIBAN in the 1st
race, at his own (Trainer Dr. Anil Kumar’s) risk and responsibility.
On a request
from Trainer S. Waheed, permission was granted to Trainer Vijay
Kasbekar to saddle his charge GOLD CAVIAR and WE STILL BELIEVE in the 2nd
race, at his own (Trainer S. Waheed’s) risk and responsibility.
On a request
from Trainer J. E. Mckeown, permission was granted to Trainer Subhag
Singh to saddle his charge MEADOW SPRINGS in the 7th race, at his
own (Trainer J. E. Mckeown’s) risk and responsibility.
On a request
from Trainer P. S. Chouhan, permission was granted to Trainer Subhag
Singh to saddle his charge GOLDEN DEGREE in the 7th race, at his own
(Trainer P. S. Chouhan’s) risk and responsibility.
RACE
NO.1 (99) – THE MID-DAY TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 4
On arrival
at the starting gates, at the request of Jockey N. S. Parmar, the saddle used
on his mount MIDNIGHT EXPRESS was checked and re-adjusted.
At the
start, ESPERANZA (App. Ramswarup dr.3) was observed to have lost its footing
and stumbled.
Approaching
the 900 metres, ESPERANZA (App. Ramswarup) shifted in gradually and went across
MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (N. S. Parmar) racing along rails causing the latter to check
and change course thereby carrying CELLINI (Antony Raj S.) outwards. App.
Ramswarup has been cautioned.
After the
race, MIDNIGHT EXPRESS was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE
NO.2 (100) – THE INDIARACE.COM CUP: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 7
GOLD CAVIAR
(D. R. Shubhan, dr.1) took fly a jump at the start.
TAABIIR
(App. Ramswarup, dr.5) jumped outwards onto LORD MURPHY (App. Aditya Waydande,
dr.6) who had to be steadied.
Approaching
the 1000 metres, ARBITRAGE (A. Sandesh) shifted in thereby tightening and
inconveniencing TAABIIR (App. Ramswarup) racing on its haunches causing the
latter to be steadied. Jockey A. Sandesh has been cautioned.
ALPHA GENE
(R. Shelar) was observed to have trailed the field. Trainer Ivor Fernandes has
been asked to ensure that his charge puts up a reasonable performance in the
future.
After the
race, the V.O. reported the following:
LORD MURPHY
& GOLD CAVIAR were trotted and found to be sound.
BALENO was
observed to have an injury on its right hind fetlock and coronet.
WE STILL
BELIEVE was observed to have an injury on its left hind fetlock.
The Equine
Hospital reported that TAABIIR had right eye injury (sore) with ulcer.
RACE
NO.3 (101) – THE RACINGPULSE.IN TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS – 8
Approaching the 700 metres, MAYSARA (K. Nazil) leaned in onto BETWEEN
FRIENDS (Prashant P. Dhebe) causing the latter to be steadied.
Approaching the 100 metres, LIGHTNING BLAZE (A. Prakash) shifted out
thereby tightening and inconveniencing BETWEEN FRIENDS (Prashant P. Dhebe)
racing on its haunches causing the latter to check and change course. After the
race on questioning Jockey A. Prakash stated that his mount was inclined
outwards in the straight, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Narendra Lagad
has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, MAYSARA was observed to have broken a blood vessel and
is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. As such,
the mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to
race.
After the race, the V.O. reported the following:
ETOILE was observed to have an injury on its left hind fetlock.
MIRAE was trotted and found to be sound.
LIGHTNING BLAZE was trotted at the stables and was found to be sound but
was observed to have an injury on its right hind pastern.
The Equine
Hospital reported that ETOILE had right both eye injuries (sore) with ulcer in
right eye.
RACE
NO.4 (102) – THE TIMES OF INDIA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 5
Soon after
the start, SON OF A GUN (A. Prakash) shifted in and went cross IT’S MY TIME (P.
Trevor), SHAMBALA (Antony Raj S.) and MOJITO (D. A. Naik). As such, Jockey A.
Prakash has been cautioned for shifting in before the Red Marker.
After the race, the V.O. reported the
following:
MARKET KING & IT’S MY TIME were trotted
and found to be sound.
SHAMBALA was observed to have a gum injury.
RACE
NO.5 (103) – THE HINDU TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 11
On arrival
at the starting gates, at the request of Jockey P. Trevor, the saddle used on
his mount EL MORAN was checked and re-adjusted.
SKY FULL OF STARS (D. R. Shubham, dr.11)
was observed to be restless in the stall and was not allowing its rider to
settle. As such, Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been asked to give his charge more gate practice
and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting
trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, SHE’S MY GAL (Bhawani
Singh, dr.8) jumped outwards and made contact with TRAIL BLAZER (App. N.
Bhosale, dr.9).
Soon after the start, RIPTIDE (Antony
Raj S.) jumped outwards and SKY FULL OF STARS (D. R. Shubham) jumped inwards
and they made contact due to which Jockey Antony Raj S. had lost his right
stirrup momentarily which he re-gained.
Approaching the 700 metres, RIPTIDE
(Antony Raj S.) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing AGATHA (S.
Mosin) racing along the rails who had to check and drop back. Jockey Antony Raj
S. has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
In the final stages of the race, DESERT
CHARM (A. Prakash) was observed to have shied away from the railing.
After the race, Jockey D. R. Shubham
(SKY FULL OF STARS) reported that his mount was running erratic throughout the
race. Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been asked to show his charge in a mock
race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting to
race.
After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal
(LIGHTNING MCQUEEN) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the
straight, despite his efforts. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take
remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
The Sr. V.O. reported that SKANDHA was
observed to have run with bandages on all four, permission for which was not
obtained for the same. As such, Trainer Nazzak B. Chenoy has
been fined Rs.1,000/- for her lapse.
The Equine
Hospital reported that AGATHA had both eye injuries (sore).
After the race, the V.O. reported the following:
SKANDHA & SKY FULL OF STARS was trotted and found to
be sound.
TRAIL BLAZER was trotted and found to be sound but was
observed to have an injury on its right fore tendon, left hind fetlock and left
nostril.
DESERT CHARM was trotted and found to be sound but was
observed to have an injury on its left hind coronet.
HEAVEN’S RHYTHM was observed to have an injury on its
left hind fetlock.
RACE
NO.6 (104) – THE FREE PRESS JOURNAL TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 6
BRAVE BEAUTY
(Bhawani Singh, dr.6) planted and lost considerable ground at the start. As
such, Trainer Vinesh has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and
show the mare to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next
accepting to race.
At the start, OPUS DEI (Antony Raj S., dr.5) jumped outwards and had to
be steadied.
Jockey S. Mosin (LORD AND MASTER) was observed to have used the whip in
an improper manner on his mount. As such, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
After the race, OPUS DEI & ROSARIO were trotted and found to be
sound.
RACE
NO.7 (105) – THE RACE MIRROR TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 12
On arrival
at the starting gates, at the request of Jockey P. Trevor, the saddle used on
his mount PHANTASMIQUE was checked and re-adjusted.
At the
start, MEADOW SPRINGS (C. Umesh, dr.10) jumped inwards onto ELEVEN ELEVEN (S.
Mosin, dr.9) causing the latter to be steadied.
Approaching
the 1300 metres, REGAL GALLERIA (S. J. Sunil) shifted in onto JACKSON (A.
Sandesh) who further shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing SEMURG
(Amyn Merchant) racing along the rails causing the latter to check and drop
back. Jockey S. J. Sunil has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
After the
race, Jockey A. Sandesh (JACKSON) reported that he was held up for room
approaching the 200 metres.
In the final
stages of the race, ADEYA (App. Ramswarup) shifted out and went across SOUTH
BEACH (N. S. Parmar) causing the latter to be steadied. App. Ramswarup has been
cautioned.
Jockey
Antony Raj S. (MIRACLE OF HANUKAH) was observed to have used the whip in excess
of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the
current Pune Meeting 2025, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
After the race, GOLDEN DEGREE was observed to have broken a blood vessel
and is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. As
such, the gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next
accepting to race.
After the
race, the V.O. reported the following:
PHANTASMIQUE
was trotted and found to be sound.
SAKANA was
trotted at the stables and found to be sound.
ADEYA was
observed to have an injury on its right fore coronet.
The Equine
Hospital reported that ADEYA had left eye injury (sore).

The urine and blood samples of the winner of the 1st, 3rd,
4th & 5th race, viz. ESPERANZA, ETOILE, SHAMBALA
& EL MORAN and the special samples of LORD MURPHY (2nd race),
MAYSARA (3rd race) & PHANTASMIQUE (7th race), were
collected for detection of prohibited substances.
