RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE FORGED DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED BY MR. PAPPURAM TO WORK AS A “PERMISSION BOY” AND INVOLVEMENT OF MR. RAVI SINGH SHEKHAWAT INTO THE SAME:

In connection with the captioned subject matter, the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 2nd August 2025, having considered all papers, proceedings before them. They also considered that Mr. Ravi Singh Shekhawat’s spokesperson Trainer James E. Mckeown had accepted the fault and apologized for the mistake committed by Mr. Ravi Singh Shekhawat. However, considering the seriousness of the offence, the Stewards noted that despite having full knowledge of the fact that the Madras Race Club does not issue any letter of experience, Mr. Ravi Singh Shekhawat had facilitated in fabricating a spurious letter on the Madras Race Club’s letterhead for Mr. Pappuram and the same was submitted to the RWITC. As such, the Stewards held Mr. Ravi Singh Shekhawat guilty of fraudulent practice under Rule- 202 (i).

Further, with regard to Mr. Pappuram the Stewards noted that he had forwarded a copy of a specimen letter issued by RWITC to Mr. Ravi Shekhawat and his whatsapp conversation clearly established that he was well aware of the fact that the letter on the Madras Race Club letter head received by him was spurious. He submitted the forged letter to the RWITC in order to obtain the requisite permission to work horses, thus the Stewards held him guilty of fraudulent practices under Rule- 202 (i) of the Rules of Racing.

In light of the above the Stewards decided as follows :-

i)    Application of Mr. Ravi Singh Shekhawat to be registered as an Assistant to Trainer James E. Mckeown has been denied.

ii)   Application of Mr. Pappuram to work horses in the Bund School / Track has been denied.

iii)  To treat Mr. Ravi Singh Shekhawat and Mr. Pappuram as a warned off / disqualified person for a period of 5 years commencing from 5th August 2025.

During the above period, all the disabilities applicable to a warned off/disqualified person under the Rules of RWITC will apply.
