RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION.
RAILS WERE PLACED 6 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.
On a request from Trainer Karthik
Ganapathy, permission was granted to Trainer Sangramsinh
N. Joshi to
saddle his charges REGAL COMMAND in the 7th race and OKINAYUME in
the 8th race, at his own (Trainer Karthik Ganapathy’s) risk and
responsibility.
Jockey S. Saqlain, vide his message dated 18th
July 2025 informed that he was not well and will not be able to fulfill his
riding engagements of the day. The Stewards of the Club permitted the following
change of Jockeys, however, the Stewards, noted his repeated failure to fulfill
his riding engagements with great displeasure and decided that he shall not
accept any rides until such time he appears before them.

RACE NO.1 (1) – THE SEASON OPENER
PLATE - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 9
At the
request of Trainer H. J. Antia,
OTELLO was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 09:00 a.m. on 16th July
2025, at the stables and was found to have a blunt injury on its pole, right
eye orbital fossa and pain on palpation. As such, the gelding was certified
unfit to race, was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds and has to
be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
SEMURG (Amyn Merchant dr.1) lost about a
length at the start thereafter jumped out slowly and shifted out.
RED MERLOT (A. Prakash dr. 7) jumped out
throwing its head up at the start.
Passing the 200 metres, LIGHTNING MCQUEEN
(Yash Narredu) was observed to have lost its footing.
After the race, WINDBORNE was observed to
have an injury on its left hind pastern.
The Equine Hospital
reported that LIGHTNING MCQUEEN had a left eye injury (sore).
RACE NO.2 (2) – THE ELEGANCE PLATE -
DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 9
It
was observed that TOOFAAN (App. S. Siddharth) was brought to the paddock
sporting the wrong saddle. Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi was immediately asked
to re-saddle his charge after duly weighing-out. The Stipendiary Stewards are
looking into the same and a report will be submitted shortly.
On arrival at the starting gates, at the
request of Jockey S. G. Prasad, TALKING POINT was examined by the Club’s Sr.
V.O., who certified him fit to race.
At the start, MAJOR SAAB (Amyn Merchant,
dr.8) jumped inwards at the same time TALKING POINT (S. G. Prasad, dr.6) jumped
outwards thereby tightening PURPLE MARTINI (Nirmal Jodha, dr.7) thereafter LEO
THE LION (A. Prakash, dr.9) leaned inwards thereby bumping MAJOR SAAB who had
to be steadied. Jockey A. Prakash has been cautioned.
Passing the 1000 metres, GOLDEN RULE (Vishal
N. Bunde) leaned in onto WE STILL BELIEVE (App. Haridas Gore) who had to be
steadied due to which SAMSON (C. Umesh) racing on its haunches brushed the
rails and had to be checked. Jockey Vishal N. Bunde has been cautioned.
Approaching the 700 metres, BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY
(App. Aditya Waydande) leaned inwards onto WE STILL BELIEVE (App. Haridas Gore)
who in turn shifted in thereby
tightening and inconveniencing SAMSON (C. Umesh) racing along the rails.
After questioning and not being satisfied, App Aditya Waydande has been fined
Rs.2,000/-.
After the
race, TALKING POINT was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be
sore by right fore. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before
next accepting to race.
After the race, TOOFAAN was trotted and found
to be sound.
The Equine Hospital
reported that LEO THE LION had a right eye injury (sore) with ulcer.
RACE NO.3 (3) – THE VIBRANT PLATE -
DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 8
AR FIRST STAR (Vishal N.
Bude, dr.7) was fractious and refused to go to the starting gates, as such, the
filly was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under the Starters order.
Trainer B. Prithviraj has been asked to take remedial measures to school his
filly and improve her behavior to reach the starting gate, before next
accepting to race
GOLDIVA (N. Bhosale, dr.2)
lost about three lengths at the start.
At the start, BEYOND STARS
(Antony Raj S., dr.8) jumped outwards onto MOONLIGHT KISS (C. Umesh, dr.9).
Approaching the 400 metres,
BEYOND STARS (Antony Raj S.) was observed to have been inclined outwards,
despite the rider’s effort. Trainer S. Waheed has been asked to take remedial
measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, Jockey C.
Umesh (MOONLIGHT KISS) reported that his mount hung-in in the final stages of
the race. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures,
before next accepting to race.
RACE NO.4 (4) – THE SEASON OPENER
PLATE - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 10
At the start, CHELSEA (App. Sonu Chouhan,
dr.9) jumped, veered out and cut across ABHICANDRA (Nirmal Jodha) who had to be
steadied. After the race on questioning, App. Sonu Chouhan stated that his
mount veered out at the start and was inclined outwards in the straight. In
view of the filly’s behavior, Trainer P. S. Chouhan has been asked to take
remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
Soon after the start, MOJO (Amyn Merchant)
leaned in and brushed the haunches of SUSSING (S. A. Amit) thereafter SUSSING
shifted out thereby carrying MOJO (Amyn Merchant) outwards onto BEE MAGICAL
(Neeraj Rawal).
Soon after the start, DILIGENCE (P. Trevor)
shifted in and went across BEE MAGICAL (Neeraj Rawal) and MOJO (Amyn Merchant)
before crossing the red marker causing the latter to be steadied. Jockey P.
Trevor has been severely reprimanded.
ABHICANDRA (Nirmal Jodha) was not galloping
fluently and thereby trailed the field. On being subjected to veterinary
examination the colt was found to be sore by right
hind and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to
race.
After the race,
APPLAUSE & CHELSEA were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.5 (5) – THE ELEGANCE PLATE -
DIVISION I : (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 9
At the start, YOURE
GORGEOUS (App. Ramswarup, dr.3) took an awkward jump and thereafter shifted out
and made contact with TAABIIR (App. Sonu Chouhan, dr.4).
Passing
the 600 metres, TAABIIR (App. Sonu Chouhan) shifted out and carried PRECIOSO
(App. A. Omkar) outwards. App. Sonu Chohan has been severely reprimanded.
After the
race, App. Ramswarup (YOURE GORGEOUS) reported that his mount was inclined
outwards and was not galloping fluently thereby trailing the field. On being
subjected to veterinary examination the filly was found to be sound. In view of

measures, before next accepting to race.

race, ZIP ALONG was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by

race, HIGH SPIRIT was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore
by left fore. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next
accepting to race. Also the Sr. V.O. reported that the mare had
an injury in its left nostril.
After the
race, YOURE GORGEOUS & MA CHERIE were trotted and found to be sound.
The Equine Hospital
reported that MA CHERIE had a left eye injury (sore).
The Equine Hospital
reported that TAABIIR had a left eye injury (sore) with ulcer.
RACE NO.6 (6) – THE D. K. ASHISH SALVER:
(ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 10
At the start, LUCIO (C.
Umesh, dr.8) jumped inwards at the same time MINISTRY OF TIME (N. S. Parmar,
dr.6) jumped outwards thereby bumping and tightening EMBER TOWER (A. Prakash,
dr.7) drawn between them.
At the start, BETWEEN LANDS
(Yash Narredu, dr.1) jumped inwards and had to be steadied.
Approaching the 500 metres,
DELSTAR (Nirmal Jodha) leaned inwards thereby tightening MERLET (Antony Raj
S.), racing along the rails, who had to be checked. Jockey Nirmal Jodha has
been cautioned.
After the race, Jockey
Vishal N. Bunde (CONJURER) reported that his mount was running green in the
straight and shied away from the whip.
After the race, Jockey P.
Trevor (TOUCH OF MYSTIC) reported that his mount was running green throughout
the race. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures,
before next accepting to race.
After the race, EMBER TOWER
was observed to have lost its right fore shoe.
After the race, MINISTRY OF
TIME was observed to have a gum injury.
After the race, TOUCH OF
MYSTIC was trotted and found to be sound.
The Equine Hospital
reported that CONJURER had a left eye injury (sore).
RACE NO.7 (7) – THE GAMBLE FOR LOVE TROPHY:
(ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS – 10
On arrival at the
starting gate, at the request of Jockey K. Pranil, COEUR DE LION was examined
by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified him fit to race.
At the start, MADAM
RICH (C. Umesh, dr.6) jumped outwards at the same time COEUR DE LION (K.
Pranil, dr.7) jumped inwards and they made contact.
After the race,
Jockey N. S. Parmar (REGAL COMMAND) reported loss of whip soon after the start.
This being his first instance during the current Pune Meeting 2025, no action
has been initiated.
After the
race, CHRISTOPHANY was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore
by right fore. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next
accepting to race.
After the race,
MADAM RICH was trotted and found to be sound.
After the race,
COEUR DE LION was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have an
injury on its right hind fetlock.
The Equine Hospital
reported that MADAM RICH had a right eye injury (sore).
The Equine Hospital
reported that PRIDE’S PRINCE had a left eye injury with ulcer.
RACE NO.8 (8) – THE VIBRANT PLATE -
DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 9
At the start, WIND DANCER (App. N. Bhosale,
dr. 1) jumped outwards at the same time STAR ROMANCE (S. G. Prasad, dr.3)
leaned inwards thereby tightening PURE (N. S. Parmar, dr.2) drawn between them.
After the
race, PURE was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by left
fore. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next
accepting to race.
After the race, CHALLENGE ACCEPTED was
trotted and found to be sound.
After the race, MARCUS was trotted and found
to be sound but was observed to have a gum injury.
After the race, STAR ROMANCE was observed to
have an injury on its right fore cannon.
The Equine Hospital
reported that REMY RED had a left eye injury (sore).
RACE NO.9 (9) – THE COLUMBIA PLATE: - NULL
AND VOID
After the Race, SCARAMOUCHE (App. Aditya
Waydande) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to have broken a tooth in its lower
jaw and was observed have an injury on the left nostril.
The Equine Hospital reported that ARIES had a
right eye injury (sore).
Immediately after the race,
the Starters reported that there was a reasonable delay between the flag being
lowered and the gates having opened due to which horses had rushed the front
gates as a result they were unbalanced thus impacting the start.
In view of this incident
the Starters had immediately raised the red flag and sounded the siren thereby
denoting it a false start.
In view of the above report
a Stewards enquiry was initiated into the incident, the Stewards having viewed
the video of the start from all angles and considering the evidence given by
the Jockeys, Starters and the Stipendiary Stewards, unanimously declared the
race “Null And Void”
Further, the Stewards
directed the Stipendiary Stewards to hold a detailed enquiry into the start and
place their findings before them.

The urine and blood samples
of the winner of the 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th
race, viz. BEE MAGICAL, SHE’S A TEASER, DARCY, THALASSA and the special samples
of CHALLENGE ACCEPTED (8th race) & MARCUS (8th race),
were collected for detection of prohibited substances.

SCHEDULED ON SATURDAY, 5TH APRIL 2025 – TRAINER B. PRITHVIRAJ:
In connection with the captioned subject
matter, the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Friday, 18th
July 2025, considering the explanation tendered by Trainer B. Prithviraj, as
well as that of his assistant Mr. Aditya Bhagwat and the Stipendiary Stewards,
and noting that Trainer B. Prithviraj acknowledged his mistake.
The Stewards of the Club observed that his
actions were in violation of the general conditions outlined in the prospectus
for the Mumbai Meeting 2024/25. Specifically, the rule stating “All
Acceptors Must Run.”Along with the fact that his action resulted in the ch.
c. NEUTRALIST being balloted out, thereby depriving the owners of the
opportunity to race.
The
Stewards decided to fine Trainer B. Prithviraj a sum of Rs.25,000/-, for
failing to declare his charge after having accepted to race.

POSITIVE REPORT IN RESPECT OF b c 3yo “GIACOMO” – IN THE CHARGE OF
TRAINER DALLAS TODYWALLA :
b c 3 GIACOMO was subjected
to compulsory sampling on 2nd June 2025 in accordance with the OOCT norms.
Further, at the request of Trainer Dallas Todywalla and M/s. Poonawalla Stud
Farm, the said sample was analyzed for all substances including therapeutics.

vide their report dated 19th June 2025 reported the sample positive for the

The Stewards of the Club at
their meeting held on Friday, 18th July 2025, took note of the Positive
