MUMBAI MEETING 2024/25, EIGHTEENTH DAY, THURSDAY, 20TH MARCH, 2025.

(EVENING RACE DAY)

 

 (PENETROMETER: 4.0 (LONGCHAMP METHOD); GOING: GOOD)

 

RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED FROM THEIR ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 6 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES, 8 METRES AWAY AT 600 METRES AND 10 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.

 

FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer M. Narredu, permission was granted to Trainer Nirad Karanjawala to saddle his charge LIGHTNING MCQUEEN in the 2nd race and EATON SQUARE in the 3rd race, at his own (Trainer M. Narredu’s) risk and responsibility.

 

On a request from Trainer Deepesh Narredu, permission was granted to Trainer Nirad Karanjawala to saddle his charge NOORIE in the 4th race, at his own (Trainer Deepesh Narredu’s) risk and responsibility.

 

RACE NO.1 (151) – THE RACINGPULSE.IN TROPHY: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS - 7  

 

At the start, WILLY WONKAA (K. Nazil, dr.4) jumped inwards at the same time LEO THE LION (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.2) jumped outwards thereby tightening BALENO (Bhawani Singh, dr.3) drawn between them.

 

After the race, Jockey P. Vinod (CASCADE) reported loss of whip passing the 400 metres. This being his first instance during the current Mumbai Meeting 2024/25, no action has be initiated.

 

RACE NO.2 (152) – THE FREE PRESS JOURNAL TROPHY (THE TIMES OF INDIA TROPHY - DIVISION II): (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

At the request of Trainer Nazzak B. Chenoy, SKANDHA was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 11.00 a.m. on 20th March 2025 and was found to be sore by right hind. As such the colt was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

Soon after the start, ALLEZ L’ETOILE (App. Mustakim Alam) shifted in and made contact with LIGHTNING MCQUEEN (S. J. Sunil) who in turn leaned inwards onto CHARISSE (Vivek G.).

 

Approaching the 900 metres, CHARLIE BROWN (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out and went across CHARISSE (Vivek G.) who had to be steadied, thereafter at about the 800 metres CHARLIE BROWN leaned in thereby tightening and inconveniencing TRAIL BLAZER (App. Hardias Gore) along the rails causing the latter to be checked. On questioning, Jockey Neeraj Rawal stated that his mount was shying away from the other runners, he further added that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight. In view of the colt’s behavior, Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey S. J. Sunil (LIGHTNING MCQUEEN) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight despite his efforts. After the race, the filly was trotted and found to be sound subsequently she was again examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at the stables and was found to be sore by right fore with an injury on hoof. As such, the filly has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. Further, she was observed to have a wolf tooth on the left side. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures.

 

After the race, CHARLIE BROWN was trotted and found to be sound. TRAIL BLAZER was observed to have an injury on both hind pasterns.

 

RACE NO.3 (153) – THE MID-DAY TROPHY: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS - 6

 

At the start, GORDON (R. Ajinkya, dr.5) jumped inwards throwing its head up due to which MULTIVERSE (Nirmal Jodha, dr.4) and KIMIKO (A. Sandesh, dr.3) were inconvenienced. After the race, on questioning Jockey R. Ajinkya stated that his mount was keen in the early part of the race and in an effort to settle, he had shifted in and out on more than one occasion, he further stated that passing the 400 metres his reins slipped momentarily.  Jockey R. Ajinkya has been cautioned.

 

Passing the1800 metres, GORDON (R. Ajinkya) leaned out thereby bumping and inconveniencing EATON SQUARE (Yash Narredu).

 

After the race, KIMIKO & MULTIVERSE were trotted and found to be sound.

 

After the race, ENDURANCE was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have an injury on left hind cannon and right hock.

 

After the race, EATON SQUARE was examined at the stables and was observed to have an injury on right hind fetlock.

 

RACE NO.4 (154) – THE TIMES OF INDIA TROPHY  - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

At the request of Trainer Faisal A. Abbas, AEON FLUX was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 09.30 a.m. on 19th March 2025 and was observed to have a deep cut on her tongue. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, ELEVEN ELEVEN (D. R. Shubham, dr.7) jumped inwards at the same time FAY (T. S. Jodha, dr.4) jumped outwards due to which KAVYA (N. S. Parmar, dr.5) and ALGONQUIN (A. Sandesh, dr.6) were tightened and had to be steadied.

 

After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar (KAVYA) report that his mount hung-in from the 300 metres. Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (ALGONQUIN) reported that his mount was running green.

 

After the race, MONEY FAIR was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5 (155) – THE INDIARACE.COM TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

FIDATO (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.8) planted in the stall thereafter losing distance and did not raise an effective gallop in the early part of the race. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, THE SENGOL QUEEN (App. S. Siddhart, dr.5) jumped outwards and brushed the haunches of HILM KLINT (Abhishek Mhatre, dr.6).

 

At the start, GOLD CAVIAR (B. Nikhil, dr.1) jumped outwards and made contact with COLLATERAL (App. Aditya Waydande, dr. 2).

 

Soon after the start, UNTITLED (App. Bharat Singh) shifted in under urgings carrying HILMA KLINT (Abhishek Mhatre) inwards. App. Bharat Singh has been fined Rs.2,000/- for shifting in before the red marker.

 

From the 600 metres, THE SENGOL QUEEN (App. S. Siddharth) was observed to have been inclined outwards. After the race, App. S. Siddharth stated that his mount hung-out in the straight. Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

In the straight, CONTINENTAL DRIFT (App. Ramswarup) was observed to have drifted out under pressure. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

Passing the 100 metres, LIGHTNING BLAZE (A. Prakash) leaned in and went across UNTITLED (App. Bharat Singh). After the race, Jockey A. Prakash reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, HILMA KLINT & EKLA CHOLO were trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that EKLA CHOLO had a right eye injury (sore) with mild ulcer.

 

RACE NO.6 (156) – THE HINDU TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 6

 

On arrival at the starting gate, TIMELESS VISION (Neeraj Rawal) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified her fit to race.

 

At the start, CREDENCE (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.6) jumped inwards and went across AZRINAZ (A. Sandesh, dr.5) thereafter CREDENCE further shifted in under urgings and cut across the field before passing the red marker. App. Aditya Waydande has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar (FIGHTON) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the final stages of the race. Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ATAASH & TIMELESS VISION were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7 (157) – THE RACE MIRROR TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 12

 

On arrival at the starting gate, CHARDIKALA (P. Trevor) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified her fit to race.

 

ESCONIDO (B. Nikhil, dr.12) jumped out slowly thereby losing about 3 lengths and did not raise an effective gallop in the early part of the race. Trainer S. Waheed has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction to the Starter at morning starting trails, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, ETOILE (A. Prakash, dr.8) jumped inwards at the same time OKINAYUME (App. Bharat Singh, dr.5) jumped outwards thereby tightening WILD CHILD (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.6) and SILVER STRIKE (Amyn Merchant, dr.7) drawn between them.

 

After the race, CHARDIKALA was trotted and found to be sound.

The urine and blood samples of the winner of the 1st, 2nd, 5th & 7th race, viz. ALPHA GENE, EASTERN MONARCH, EKLA CHOLO & CHARDIKALA and the special samples of ENDURANCE (3rd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.

RE: MOCK RACE HELD ON 20TH MARCH 2025:

 

At the behest of Stipendiary Stewards, MAGNETAR was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by left fore. As such the gelding was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

GOODFELLOW was observed to have lost its left fore shoe.
