RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED AT THEIR  ORIGINAL POINT.

 

RACE NO.1 (124) – THE KUMAR R. DALAL GOLD TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 3

 

After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (BASHIR) reported that his mount hung-out in the straight. Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.2 (125) – THE PRINCE KARIM AGA KHAN IV MEMORIAL TROPHY: (ABOUT) 2400 METRES – RUNNERS - 5

 

GORDON (R. Ajinkya, dr.3) was reluctant to the stalled. In view of the same and a similar behavior of the gelding in its previous outing, Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter before next accepting to race.

 

GORDON (R. Ajinkya, dr.3) took an awkward jump at the start.

 

Approaching the 200 metres, ALEXANDROS (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in onto BLACK THUNDER (A. Sandesh) who in turn shifted in thereby inconveniencing FLOYD (T. S. Jodha) racing on its haunches. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

After the race, GORDON was observed to have a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.3 (126) – THE INTERVALVE POONAWALLA LTD. TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 11

 

At the request of Trainer B. Prithviraj, DHARMA was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 06:30 p.m. on 22nd February 2025 at the stables and was found to a have swelling on right fore tendon and was sore by right fore, as such, the colt was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

In the process of stalling, EASTERN MONARCH (A. Sandesh, dr.1) reared up and dislodged its rider, thereafter got loose on the track, subsequently the colt was apprehended at  the 2000 metres. Since the gelding had run the entire course, Trainer Sanjay Kolse was called and with his due consent the colt was withdrawn, before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the colt to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

SOLIDARITY (Vivek G., dr.7) lost about two lengths at the start.

 

At the start, DANCING CLOUD (K. Nazil, dr.6) jumped outwards and went across SOLIDARITY.

 

At the start, LIFE IS LIFE (A. Prakash, dr.9) jumped outwards and made contact with HEAVEN”S RHYTHM (S. J. Sunil, dr.10).

 

At the start, GIACOMO (David Allan, dr.11) jumped outwards onto IT’S GAME TIME (P. Trevor, dr.12) who in turn shifted out onto EL MORAN (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.13).

 

After the race, Jockey Akshay Kumar (HAZEL) reported that his mount hung-out in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Prasanna Kumar P. has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race

 

RACE NO.4 (127) – THE POONAWALLA BREEDERS' MULTI-MILLION  (Grade 1): (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 15

 

After being stalled, MAGNETAR (Imran Chisty, dr.15) reared up, kicked in the adjacent stall and flipped over, subsequently the gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to have an injury on its wither and on the left hind above hock, following which the gelding was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer Aravind G. has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction to Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Due to the above incident, STORMY SEA (N. S. Parmar, dr.14) who was in the adjacent draw of MAGNETAR (Imran Chisty, dr.15) was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified him fit to race.

 

SUPREME SUCCESS (Bhawani Singh, dr.11) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Aravind G. has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to races.

 

At the start, ELUSIVE ART (Neeraj Rawal, dr.10) jumped outwards and went across SUPREME SUCCESS (Bhawani Singh, dr.11).

 

At the start, SURREALIST (Vivek G., dr.6) jumped outwards onto JOHNNY MAC (C. Umesh, dr.7) who in turn made contact with PROKOFIEV (David Allan, dr.8).

 

At the the start, MOUNTAIN JEWEL (R. Ajinkya) jumped outwards and bumped CHARLIE BROWN (Antony Raj S.) who had to be checked.

 

Passing the 1300 metres, BIG BAY (Suraj Narredu) shifted in thereby tightening SURREALIST (Vivek G.) causing the latter to check and change course.

Thereafter approaching the 1200 mtrs GUNSMOKE (Yash Narredu) shifted in onto SURREALIST (Vivek G) causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockeys Suraj Narredu and Yash Narredu have been fines Rs 3000/- each.

 

Approaching the 400 metres, ZAFFERANO (B. R. Kumar) shifted out under urgings and carried SURREALIST (Vivek G.) outwards thereafter ZAFFERANO further shifted out thereby tightening and inconveniencing GUNSMOKE (Yash Narredu). After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey B. R. Kumar has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

Jockey David Allan (PROKOFIEV) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. After questioning Jockey David Allan stated that his mount hung-in and he had used the whip as a corrective measure and  the same was borne out from the video of the race, no action has been initiated against the Jockey. However, Trainer Prasanna Kumar P. has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey Akshay Kumar (CIRCLE OF DREAMS) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount .After questioning and not being satisfied with his explanation, he was informed that as this is his fourth offence in the current Mumbai meeting , it  has been decided to deprive him  the use of the whip in races with immediate effect till the end of the Mumbai Meeting 2024/25.

  

After the race, Jockey Antony Raj S. (CHARLIE BROWN) reported that his mount hung-out in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, STORMY SEA & CHARLIE BROWN were trotted and found to be sound. CIRCLE OF DREAMS was observed to have a gum injury. JOHNNY MAC was observed to have an injury on right hind fetlock.

 

RACE NO.5 (128) – THE FLORRIE & FREDDY SOPHER GOLD TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (TIMELESS VISION) reported that the galloping action of his mount was uncomfortable in the final stages of the race, the filly was subjected to veterinary examination. After the race, the filly was trotted and found to be sound.

 

After the race, VILLANELLE was observed to have lost its left hind shoe.

 

RACE NO.6 (129) – THE DR. GOOLAM E. VAHANVATI TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 13

 

On arrival at the start, at the request of Jockey P. Vinod, FLEETWOOD was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds, before coming under the Starter’s order and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

STORM CLOUD (App. Mustakim Alam) took a fly jump at the start.

 

After the race, App. N. Bhosale (MAYSARA) reported that his mount hung-out in the straight. Trainer H. J. Antia has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

  

After the race, Jockey Santosh G. (GYPSY SOUL) reported that approaching the 300 metres his reins slipped momentarily. Jockey Santosh G. has been cautioned.

 

ROCK MY HEART (App. Aditya Waydande) was observed to have trailed the field. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to ensure that his charge puts up a reasonable performance in the future.

 

After the race, MAYSARA was trotted and found to be sound.

  

RACE NO.7 (130) – THE HONG KONG JOCKEY CLUB TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

At the start, EKLA CHOLO (Amyn Merchant, dr.3) jumped outwards onto CONTINENTAL DRIFT (A. Sandesh, dr.4) at the same time YOU (Antony Raj S., dr.6) jumped inwards onto TAABIIR (S. J. Sunil, dr.5) and they made contact.

 

STORM (T. S. Jodha, dr.1) lost about a length at the start.

 

Jockey S. J. Sunil (TAABIIR) reported loss of whip approaching the 400 metres. This being his first instance during the current Mumbai Meeting 2024/25, no action has been initiated.

 

After the race, T. S. Jodha (STORM) reported that this mount inclined outwards under pressure in the straight. Trainer Behram Cama has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 2nd & 7th race, viz. PRIDE’S PRINCE, GORDON & STORM, were collected for detection of prohibited substances.

 

The urine and blood samples of the BIG BAY (Winner - 4th race), CIRCLE OF DREAMS (2nd place – 4th race) & PROKOFIEV (3rd place – 4th race), was collected for detection of prohibited substances.
