MUMBAI MEETING 2024/25, SEVENTH DAY, THURSDAY, 9TH, JANUARY, 2025.

 

 (PENETROMETER: 4.1 (LONGCHAMP METHOD); GOING: GOOD)

 

RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 4 METRES AWAY FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 8 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 10 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 12 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.

 

FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1400 METRES 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 8 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer Rehanullah Khan, permission was granted to Trainer Altamaash A. Ahmed to saddle his charge ARBITRAGE in the 4th race, at his own (Trainer Rehanullah Khan’s) risk and responsibility.

  

RACE NO.1 (59) – THE DR. A. H. SAYED PLATE: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

ZIP ALONG (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.3) took a fly jump at the start at the same time MILLI (K. G. Likith Appu, dr.4) jumped inwards onto ZIP ALONG who had to be steadied.

 

Jockey Amyn Merchant (ANOUSHKA) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Mumbai meeting 2024/25, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

Jockey Shrikant Kamble (CHARMING STAR) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Mumbai meeting 2024/25, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, MILLI was observed to have an injury on right hind bulb of heel.

 

After the race, MOHSIN was observed to have an injury on both hind  & left fore pastern.

 

RACE NO.2 (60) – THE MADRAS RACE CLUB TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 4

 

DEXA (P. Trevor, dr.3) took a fly jump at the start.

 

After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (BABY BAZOOKA) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Altamaash A. Ahmed has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that at the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, endoscopy was performed on DEXA and was found to have EIPH (Gr.III). The gelding is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.3 (61) – THE VALLABHDAS H. ADWALIA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 6

 

At the start, APPLAUSE (P. Trevor, dr.6) veered outwards and had to be steadied.

 

After the race, SCORCESE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4 (62) – THE GREATER MUMBAI POLICE TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS – 10

 

At the start, CACHE (Vivek G., dr.7) jumped inwards onto MISS MAGIC (K. G. Likith Appu, dr.6) who had to be steadied.

 

At the start, MOONLIGHT KISS (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.2) jumped outwards and went across GYPSY SOUL (Shrikant Kamble, dr.3), who was marginally slow to begin.

 

After the race, Jockey Vivek G. (CACHE) reported that his mount hung–in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that after the race, at the request of Trainer Faisal A. Abbas, endoscopy was performed on MOJO and was found to have EIPH (Gr.II).

 

After the race, JET TYPHOON & CACHE were trotted and found to be sound.

 

After the race, ARBITRAGE was observed to have lost its left hind shoe.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that CACHE had left eye injury (sore) ARBITRAGE had left eye injury (sore) with ulcer.

 

RACE NO.5 (63) – THE R. R. BYRAMJI SALVER: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 11

 

PURE (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.4) lost about a length at the start.

 

FLASHING FAMOUS (App S. Saba, dr.9) took a fly jump at the start at the same time ULTIMO (S. Saqlain, dr.10) jumped inwards and made contact with the former.

 

Approaching the 200 metres, JADE (C. Umesh) shifted in under urgings and went across ULTIMO (S. Saqlain) who had to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey C. Umesh has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the Race, Jockey P. Vinod (ESPERANZA) reported that from the 600 metres his mount was inclined outwards despite his efforts. Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.6 (64) – THE RAZA ALI PLATE: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 6

 

CONTINENTAL DRIFT was permitted to be withdrawn due late realization of medication. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been fined Rs.5,000/- for his lapse and the gelding was subjected to sampling.

 

On arrival at the starting gate, SECRET TO SUCCESS was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified her fit to race, after the race the filly was trotted and found to be sound.

 

After the race, PRECIOSO was trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that HAGIBIS had left eye injury (sore).

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd, 5th & 6th race, viz. BABY BAZOOKA, TIMELESS VISION & HAGIBIS and the special samples of CONTINENTAL DRIFT (6th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
