ADDITIONAL REPORTS:

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “JULIETTE” (DRAWN 1) IN RACE NO.49 – THE MAHARAJA JIWAJIRAO SCINDIA TROPHY (GRADE 3) (DIST. 1800 MTRS.) RUN ON SUNDAY, 29TH DECEMBER 2024:

In connection with the captioned subject matter, the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on 5th January 2025, having heard Jockey C. S. Jodha, his spokesperson Mr. P. S. Chouhan and Trainer Karthik Ganapathy and having viewed the video recording of the race in question and the previous races of the JULIETTE, the Stewards of the Club were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey C. S. Jodha. In that, he was instructed to be mindful of the mares early positioning and not to sit too far behind the field but in the early part of the race he positioned his mount at a disadvantage whereas he could have sat in a better position. Further, coming into the straight he travelled on the wide outside thereby losing considerable ground. Therefore, the Stewards of the Club by majority held Jockey C. S. Jodha guilty of riding an ill-judged race and decided to suspend his Jockey’s licence for four race days i.e. on 23rd January, 1st, 2nd & 9th February 2025 (permitted to ride work/mock race).

The Stewards of the Club having considered the report submitted by the Stipendiary Stewards into the captioned subject matter, having heard both the Starters as also the Stipendiary Stewards took note that the Asst. Starter Mr. J. E. Pereira had admitted to his mistake that led to the mare racing with the red hood, an equipment that should have been removed at the gates.

The Stewards noted with displeasure the lapse on part of the Asst. Starter and decided to fine him for the same. Further, he was asked to be more careful in the future.
