RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 5 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 9 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.
FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 5 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.
On a request from Trainer James E. Mckeown, permission was granted to Trainer Subhag Singh to saddle his charge ONCE YOU GO BLACK in the 4th race, at his own (Trainer James E. Mckeown’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (16) – THE SIR RAHIMTOOLA CHINOY TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1800 METRES – RUNNERS - 5
At the request of Trainer M. Narredu, BUBBLY BOY was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 09:40 a.m. on 6th December 2024, at the stables and was found to be sore by left fore with painful swelling on left fore tendon, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, App. S. Saba (ALPINE STAR) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight despite his efforts. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, at the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards endoscopy was performed on CHRISTOFLE at the sampling yard and was diagnosed to have EIPH (Gr.I).
After the race, FLAMING LAMBORGINI was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore. The rig has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, ALPINE STAR & CHRISTOFLE were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2 (17) – THE JSK1 GAMING TROPHY: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS - 9
On the way to the starting gate, ALACRITY (K. Nazil) was fractious, reared up and fell along with the rider thereafter bolted away. Subsequently, the filly was apprehended at the starting gate and on being subjected to veterinary examination, she was found to have sustained an abrasion on right hock and an injury on right hind fetlock. As such, the filly was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds.
UZI (P. Vinod, dr.4) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Behram Cama has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trails, before next accepting to race.
After the race, Jockey Amyn Merchant (GOODFELLOW) reported that he momentarily lost his reins soon after the start. Jockey Amyn Merchant has been cautioned.
After the race, at the request of Trainer Rehanullah Khan, BLACK THUNDER was scoped at the sampling yard and was observed to have EIPH (Gr.III) and is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, SEEKING ALPHA, GORDON & ATATURK were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.3 (18) – THE JEHANGIR P. DUBASH TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 10
RICOCHET (P. Vinod, dr.8) was reluctant to be stalled. In view of filly’s similar behavior in her previous start, Trainer Behram Cama has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.
Passing the 700 metres, FLASHING FAMOUS (S. G. Prasad) shifted in thereby tightening LIAM (K. G. Likith Appu) causing the latter to check and drop back due to this incident ART COLLECTOR (T. S. Jodha) was also inconvenienced and had to be steadied. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey S. G. Prasad has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
Approaching the 600 metres, BELIEVE (A. Prakash) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing ART COLLECTOR (T. S. Jodha) racing along the rails who had to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey A. Prakash has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
Passing the 400 metres, KARIENA (A. Sandesh) dropped back and trailed the field. After the race, the mare was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by left fore. As such, the mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, Jockey R. Ajinkya (FONTANA) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight more so under pressure. Trainer P. S. Chouhan has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, RICOCHET was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.4 (19) – THE A. C. ARDESHIR TROPHY (Grade 3): (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 5

RACE NO.5 (20) – THE IBRAHIM A. RAHIMTOOLA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 14
CHAMPAGNE SMILE (App. N. Bhosale, dr.7) reared up after being stalled and dislodged its rider. The mare was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified her fit to race. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the mare to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
REMY RED (T. S. Jodha, dr.8) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, EMPOWER (App. S. Siddharth, dr.2) jumped outwards and made contact with SPIRIT BAY (P. Vinod, dr.3).
At the start, DEMETRIUS (Bhawani Singh, dr.4) jumped outwards and had to be steadied.
At the start, GOOMAH (S. J. Moulin, dr.6) jumped outwards onto CHAMPAGNE SMILE (App. N. Bhosale, dr.7) who in turn shifted out and made contact with REMY RED (T. S. Jodha, dr.8) causing both horses to be steadied. Jockey S. J. Moulin has been severely cautioned.
Soon after the start, ARBITRAGE (App. Haridas Gore) shifted in under urgings and made contact with MAJESTIC WARRIOR (App. Bharat Singh) on more than one occasion thereby forcing it inwards. App. Haridas Gore has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Before passing the red marker, MOJO (Amyn Merchant) shifted in under urgings and went across MOMENT OF MADNESS (S. J. Sunil) who in turn shifted in onto NORTHERN SINGER (App. S. Saba). After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey Amyn Merchant has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Approaching the 800 metres, NORTHERN SINGER (App. Saba) shifted in and went across MIGHTY WINGS (S. A. Amit) causing the latter to check and drop back. After questioning and not being satisfied, App. S. Saba has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
After the race, MIGHTY WINGS was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by left fore. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
RACE NO.6 (21) – THE BEJAN BHARUCHA PLATE: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 13
After the Declaration stage, Trainer H. J. Antia informed that he had erroneously declared Jockey S. Sunil on his charge OPERATION FINALE and requested that he be permitted to replace the declared Jockey with S. J. Sunil. The said change was granted and Trainer H. J. Antia has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
ADONIS (Bhawani Singh, dr.5) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Vijay Kasbekar has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, PRECIOSO (K. G. Likith Appu, dr.4) threw its head up there losing about a length at the start.
It was observed that before passing the red marker OTELLO (S. G. Prasad) cut across the field. Jockey S. G. Prasad has been severely cautioned.
Approaching the 400 metres, RISING POWER (App. N.Bhosale) shifted in and went across RED DUST (Amyn Merchant) causing the latter to clip the heels of former and stumble thereby dislodging its rider. After questioning and not being satisfied, App. N. Bhosale has been suspended for two race days i.e. on 29th December 2024 & 5th January 2025 (permitted to ride work/mock race) for careless riding.
After the race, Jockey S. G. Prasad (OTELLO) reported loss of whip approaching the 200 metres. This being his first instance during the current Mumbai Meeting 2024/25, no action has been initiated.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 2nd & 3rd race, viz. EL GRECO, LA DOLCE VITA & CELESTIAL and the special sample of CHRISTOFLE (1st race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
The urine and blood samples of the ZUCCARO (Winner – 4th race) & GEOGRAPHIQUE (2nd place – 4th race), was collected for detection of prohibited substances.

RE: APPEAL BY JOCKEY A. PRAKASH AGAINST THE SUSPENSION OF HIS JOCKEYS LICENCE FOR TWO RACE DAYS I.E. ON 15TH & 22ND DECEMBER 2024 BY THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS FOR DROPPING OF HANDS ON HIS MOUNT “SORRENTO SECRET” BEFORE PASSING THE WINNING POST IN RACE NO.1 RUN ON 24TH NOVEMBER 2024, THEREBY LOSING A CERTAIN 3RD PLACE:
In connection with the above subject, the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 8th December 2024, considered letters dated 28th November & 6th December 2024 from Jockey A. Prakash, having heard him including his spokesperson Mr. Dallas Todywalla and also having viewed the video of Race no.1, considered all papers and proceedings before them and having deliberated on the matter at length, decided to reject his appeal.
