RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED FROM
ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT
1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 4 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES
STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM
1200 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AT 1000 METRES.
RACE
NO.1 (1) – THE FEDORA PLATE: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 7
Tr. Imtiaz A.Sait informed that his charge AWAY SHE GOES was
under medication and had requested to withdraw the mare from the race due to
late realization of medication. As such, he was permitted to withdraw his
charge after the declaration stage and is fined Rs.15,000/-. Further, in
accordance with Calendar Notification the sample has been collected for
analysis.
MARIELLA (P. Vinod, dr.3) threw its head up at the start.
At the start, ANOUSHKA (Amyn Merchant, dr.4) jumped outwards at
the same time SECRET SORRENTO (A. Prakash, dr.6) jumped inwards thereby bumping
and inconveniencing ATOMIC ANGEL (App. Bharat Singh, dr.5).
Approaching the 400 metres, PRINCE IGOR (App. N. Bhosale) shifted
in under urgings thereby brushing the haunches of ATOMIC ANGEL (App. Bharat
Singh) who was unbalanced thereafter passing the 300 metres PRINCE IGOR shifted
out and carried MARLBORO MAN (App. Haridas Gore) outwards. App. N. Bhosale has
been cautioned.
In the final stages of
the race, Jockey A. Prakash (SORRENTO SECRET) was observed to have dropped his
hands before passing the winning post thereby losing a certain third place.
After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey A. Prakash has been suspended
for two race days i.e. on 15th and 22nd December
2024 (Permitted to ride work / mock race).
It was observed that the saddle used on ATOMIC
ANGEL (App. Bharat Singh) shifted forward during the race. This being the first
instance of faulty saddling during the current Mumbai Meeting 2024/25, Trainer
Karthik Ganapathy has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
After the race, PRINCE IGOR was observed to have
broken a blood vessel and is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban
period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O.,
before next accepting to race.
After the race, DAGGER’S
STRIKE was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE
NO.2 (2) – THE K. J. K IRANI PLATE: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 5
At the start, BUBBLY BOY
(Yash Narredu, dr.2) jumped outwards at the same time FAST PACE (Suraj Narredu,
dr.3) leaned inwards and they made contact.
Passing the 1400 metres,
BUBBLY BOY (Yash Narredu) shifted out and made contact with DREAM ALLIANCE (A.
Prakash) who had to be steadied. Jockey Yash Narredu has been cautioned.
After the race,
CHRISTOFLE, FAST PACE & DREAM ALLIANCE were trotted and found to be sound.
BUBBLY BOY was observed to have lost its right fore shoe.
RACE
NO.3 (3) – THE DR. S. R. CAPTAIN SALVER: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 6
Passing
the 400 metres, MUTANT (App. Haridas Gore) shifted out despite the riders
efforts thereby carrying DASH (Yash Narredu) outwards. Trainer Dallas Todywalla
has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After
the race, Jockey A. Prakash (PYRITE) reported loss of whip passing the 250
metres. This being the first instance during the current Mumbai Meeting
2024/25, no action has been initiated.
After
the race, Jockey R. Ajinkya (FONTANA) reported that his mount hung-in
throughout the race. Trainer P. S. Chouhan has been asked to take remedial
measures, before next accepting to race.
After
the race, Jockey Yash Narredu (DASH) reported that his mount hung-in in the
straight. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures, before
next accepting to race.
After the race, DASH,
JADE & FONTANA were trotted and found to be sound. PYRITE was observed to
have an injury on right elbow.
RACE
NO.4 (4) – THE P. B. AVASIA PLATE: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 9
ODYSSEUS (Suraj Narredu,
dr.2) jumped outwards onto ATATURK (C. Umesh, dr.3).
Soon after the start, ENDURANCE (A. Prakash)
leaned inwards and went across AMADEO (Yash Narredu) who had to be steadied.
Jockey A. Prakash has been cautioned.
After the race, ALACRITY was observed to have a
gum injury.
RACE
NO.5 (5) – THE WELCOME TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 12
At the start, GYPSY SOUL (Santosh G., dr.6) shifted
in and went across REMY RED (T. S. Jodha) who clipped the former and stumble.
After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey Santosh G. has been fined
Rs.2,000/-.
At the start, LION KING (Amyn Merchant, dr.2)
jumped out awkwardly thereby unbalancing its rider.
From the 400 metres,
ELOQUENT (App. N. Bhosale) drifted out and carried THE GENERAL (Bhawani Singh)
outwards. App. N. Bhosale has been cautioned.
After the race, App. Haridas Gore (CREATIVE GIRL)
reported that his mount was running green in the straight. Trainer Dallas
Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to
race.
An objection was lodged
by Jockey Bhawani Singh, the rider of THE GENERAL (Placed 3rd) by the Judge
against Jockey C. Umesh., the rider of VINCERO (Placed 2nd) by the Judge. The
reason stated was, In the last 200 metres, VINCERO drifted out alarmingly right
across his horse due to which he had to completely check his horse which broke
his stride after which he had covered ground and finished only ¾ of a length
behind him. Further, Jockey C. Umesh had his whip on his right and did not take
any corrective measures until it was too late.
After considering the
submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the
Stipendiary Stewards, having viewed the video recording of the race and acting
on their own observation of the race, the Stewards upheld the objection and
revised the order of placing as under:-

- THIRD;
THE
GENERAL -
SECOND;
MOONLIGHT KISS - FOURTH.
After the last race, the
Stewards having heard the submissions made by Jockey C. Umesh noted that
despite his mount shifting out he had persisted with the whip on the right and
had not taken corrective measures, hence, held him guilty of careless riding
and decided to suspend his Jockeys licence for 2 race days i.e. on 15th &
22nd December 2024 (permitted to ride work/mock race). Further,
Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to show his charge in a mock race to the
satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting to race.

NO.6 (6) – THE ROYAL CALCUTTA TURF CLUB TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS

At the
start, MAGILETO (Suraj Narredu, dr.6) jumped outwards onto BABY BAZOOKA (C. S.
Jodha, dr.7) who in turn leaned outwards onto DEXA (N. S. Parmar, dr.8).

NO.7 (7) – THE M. D. PETIT PLATE: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 9
Soon after the start,
LIGHTNING BLAZE (K. G. Likith Appu) leaned outwards onto MIRAE (App. N.
Bhosale).
Passing the red marker,
FIDATO (S. J. Sunil) shifted in under urgings thereby tightening the field on
his inside due to which MIRAE (App. N. Bhosale), KHALEESI (Suraj Narredu) &
GOLDEN RULE (App. S. Siddharth) were tightened and had to be checked. After
questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered, the
Stipendiary Stewards held Jockey S. J. Sunil guilty of careless riding and decided
to suspend his Jockeys licence for two race days i.e. on 15th &
22nd December 2024 (permitted to ride work/mock race).
After
the race, ELIZABETH REGINA was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to
be sore by right fore. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O.,
before next accepting to race.
After the race,
KHALEESI, MIRAE & LIGHTNING BLAZE were trotted and found to be sound.

The
urine samples of the winner of the 2nd, 3rd, 5th &
7th race, viz. DREAM ALLIANCE, JADE, DIVINE STAR & MI ARION
and the special samples of AWAY SHE GOES (1st race), were
collected for detection of prohibited substances.

RE: APP. MUSTAKIM ALAM REPORTED TO THE STEWARDS FOR CARELESS
RIDING ON HIS MOUNT “BAKLAVA” (DRAWN 7) IN RACE NO.49 – THE F. D. WADIA
TROPHY (GRADE 3) (DIST. 1400 MTRS.) RUN ON SATURDAY, 17TH AUGUST
2024:
In connection with the captioned subject matter, App. Mustakim
Alam was called before the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on
Sunday, 24th November 2024. On
being questioned, App. Mustakim Alam stated that considering that DASH (Yash
Narredu) was racing on his outside and since there was no gap, he tapped his
mount and shifted in and added that the Jockey on his inside did not shout out
to him otherwise he would have maintained a straight course and he apologized
for his mistake.
In this connection, the Stewards of the Club having considered
all the submissions made by him and having viewed the video recording of the
race, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by him and
also taking into account his past record held him guilty of careless riding,
decided by majority to suspend his Jockeys licence for three race days as well
as to invoke the suspended sentence of three race days accorded to him by the
Board of Appeal. As such, his Jockeys licence shall stand suspended w.e.f. 15th December
2024 to 9th January 2025 (both days inclusive) (permitted to
ride work/mock race).
Subsequently, vide his letter dated 25th November
2024, he stated that he does not wish to appeal against the decision of the
Stewards and requested to start his suspension with immediate effect. In view
of his request the revised dates of his suspension shall be w.e.f. 8th December
2024 to 5th January 2025 (both days inclusive) (permitted to
ride work/mock race).

APPEAL BY MR. N. B. KULDEEP AGAINST THE DECISION OF THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB IN
RESPECT OF SUSPENSION OF HIS JOCKEY'S LICENCE FOR A PERIOD OF 3 MONTHS W.E.F
27TH OCTOBER 2024 UPTO 26TH JANUARY 2025 (BOTH DAYS INCLUSIVE) FOR BEING GUILTY
OF MISCONDUCT UNDER RULE (101) OF THE RULES OF RACING - PASSING RACING
INFORMATION ON THE JOCKEY'S WHATSAPP GROUP FOR THE RACES HELD AT PUNE ON 28TH
JULY 2024:
In connection with the
above subject matter, the Board of Appeal at their meeting held on Thursday, 7th November
2024, considered Appeal dated 21st October 2024 from Mr. N. B.
Kuldeep, considered all documents and papers that were submitted including his
grounds of appeal and heard the submissions made by him and his spokesman, Mr.
P.S. Chouhan. Whilst making submissions, Mr. P.S. Chouhan had withdrawn point 4
of the grounds of appeal which stated "The inquiry was initiated based on
a misunderstanding without allowing him a fair opportunity to explain the
context of his message and this is against the principle of natural justice as
he did not get any opportunity to explain his case. Proper procedural fairness
was not uphold as he was not given the chance to clarify that the message was
simply his personal opinion and not an endorsement of betting on those horses”.
Mr. Chouhan had also apologized to the Board for making this statement. This
matter was duly recorded in the Minutes of meeting.
The Board of Appeal
having deliberated on the matter at length, decided to reduce the period of suspension
of his Jockey's licence. Since he was granted a stay on his punishment till his
appeal is heard and disposed off, his jockey's licence now stands suspended
from 8th November 2024 till 31st December 2024 (both days
Inclusive). Further, he is permitted to ride work/mock race.

RE: JOCKEY S. ZERVAN WAS
UNABLE TO DRAW THE DECLARED WEIGHT ON HIS MOUNT “STORM CLOUD” IN RACE NO.148
RUN ON 3RD NOVEMBER 2024:
With reference to the captioned subject matter, Jockey S.
Zervan (STORM CLOUD) was unable to draw the declared weight. As such,
Trainer Narendra Lagad requested for a change of rider and was permitted
to declare Jockey C. S. Jodha on his charge.
In view of the above, Jockey S. Zervan has been fined
Rs.5,000/- for failing to fulfill his riding engagement.
