RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION FROM 2000 METRES TO 1000 METRES, 2 METRES WIDE AT 800 METRES. THEREAFTER 4 METRES WIDE UP TO THE WINNING POST.
RAILS WERE PLACED 4 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.
On a request from Trainer S. S. Attaollahi, permission was granted to Trainer P. Shroff to saddle his charge WEST BROOK in the 6th race, at his own (Trainer S. S. Attaolahi’s) risk and responsibility.
RACE NO.1 (125) – THE LEGAL STEPS PLATE: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 8
JUST REWARD (Vishal N. Bunde, dr.5) lost about a length at the start.
At the start, LIGHTNING BLAZE (A. Prakash, dr.6) jumped inwards and went across JUST REWARD (Vishal N. Bunde, dr.5) who was marginally slow to begin, thereafter the former shifted out under urgings and at the same time HILMA KLINT (K.Nazil, dr.7) shifted in under urgings and they made contact. Thereafter, HILMA KLINT shifted out and bumped ANAIRA (Shamaz Shareef, dr.8) who had to be steadied. Jockeys K. Nazil and A. Prakash have been cautioned.
After the race, JUST REWARD & GOLDEN RULE were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2 (126) – THE STAR MILLIONAIRE PLATE: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 10
NORTHERN ARROW (A.Prakash, dr.7) lost about a length at the start.
At the start, NEILINA (Vivek G., dr.3) jumped inwards onto THE FLUTIST (C. S. Jodha, dr.2) who in turn shifted in onto YULETIDE (App. N. Bhosale, dr.1) causing both horses to be steadied.
After the race, AWAY SHE GOES & NEILINA were trotted and found to be sound. MOHSIN was observed to have an injury on both hind fetlocks.
The Equine Hospital reported that TOOFAAN had a right eye injury (sore) and LEO THE LION had left eye injury (sore)
RACE NO.3 (127) – THE NITROUS PLATE - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 11
There was a dual declaration in respect of Jockey K. Nazil by Trainer Narendra Lagad on DAULAT MAI and by Trainer Hosidar Daji on CUBAN PETE. After questioning all concerned, Trainer Narendra Lagad was permitted to declare Jockey Vishal N. Bunde on his charge DAULAT MAI and Trainer Hosidar Daji was permitted to declare Jockey K. Nazli on his charge CUBAN PETE. In this connection, Jockey K. Nazil has been fined Rs.5,000/- for failing to fulfil his riding engagement.
At the request of Trainer Faisal A. Abbas, MOJO was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 10:00 a.m. on 19th October 2024, at the stables and was found to be sore by right fore, as such, the mare was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
At the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, MIRAE was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at the starting gate, who certified her fit to race.
At the start, PRINCE IGOR (Nirmal Jodha, dr.3) jumped inwards onto SPIRIT BAY (App. N.Bhosale, dr.2) who in turn shifted in and bumped GALLOPING AHEAD (T. S. Jodha, dr.1) causing the latter to lose its footing and had to be steadied. Jockey Nirmal Jodha has been cautioned.
At the start, MIRAE (App. Bharat Singh, dr.10) and JETFIRE (Kishore Kadam, dr.9) jumped inwards at the same time DAULAT MAI (Vishal N.Bunde, dr.6) jumped outwards due to which NAIROBI (R. Ajinkya, dr.7) and NELSON RIVER (S.A. Amit, dr.8)drawn between them were bumped, tightened for room and had to be checked. Jockey Vishal N. Bunde and App. Bharat Singh have been cautioned.
After the race, App. N. Bhosale (SPIRIT BAY) reported that his mount drifted out in the straight despite his efforts and finished the race on the outer portion of the track. Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, CUBAN PETE was observed to have broken a blood vessel (2nd time) and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of eight weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, SPIRIT BAY, NELSON RIVER & MIRAE were trotted and found to be sound.
The Equine Hospital reported that NAIROBI had a right eye injury (sore).
RACE NO.4 (128) – THE PRUDENTIAL CHAMP TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 4
At the request of Trainer M. Narredu, BETWEEN LANDS was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 10:15 a.m. on 19th October 2024, at the stables and was found to be sore by left fore, as such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
AMONG THE STARS (S. J. Sunil, dr.4) threw its head up at the start, thereafter, the filly was inclined outwards throughout the race despite the rider’s efforts thereby losing ground in the initial part of the race. Trainer M.Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, AMONG THE STARS was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have a wolf tooth on right side.
The Equine Hospital reported that GIANT GOLD had a right eye injury with ulcer.
RACE NO.5 (129) – THE PUNE CANTONMENT BOARD TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS – 10
At the start, LION KING (Amyn Merchant, dr.9) jumped outwards thereby carrying KHALEESI outwards (T.S.Jodha, dr.10).
At the start, MOUNT SINAI (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.8) threw its head up, thereafter MOUNT SINAI leaned inwards at the same time THE GENERAL (App. Bharat Singh, dr.7) shifted out due to which the former was inconvenienced and had to be checked. App. Bharat Singh has been cautioned.
Passing the 600 metres, MOUNT SINAI (App. Aditya Waydande) shifted in onto UNTITLED (Haridas Gore) who in turn shifted in resulting in tightening and inconveniencing ZARKAN (K.Nazil) racing on its haunches who had to check and change course. App. Aditya Waydande has been severely cautioned.
After the race, COIN EMPRESS was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by left fore. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, PURE FOR SURE was observed to have an injury on left hind bulb of heel.
After the race, UNTITLED was observed to have an injury on right hind fetlock.
The Equine Hospital reported that KHALEESI had both eye injuries (sore) with ulcer. ZARKAN had a right eye injury (sore).
The Equine Hospital reported that MOUNT SINAI had a right eye injury (sore).
RACE NO.6 (130) – THE FAIR HAVEN TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 8
RASPUTIN (Anthony Raj S., dr.2) lost about three lengths at the start. Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.
After the race, ARC DE TRIOMPHE was trotted and found to be sound. COEUR DE LION was observed to have lost its right fore shoe.
RACE NO.7 (131) – THE D. N. ZODGE PLATE: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS - 9
At the request of Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait, DREAM ALLIANCE was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 09:00 a.m. on 19th October 2024, at the stables and was found to be sore by right fore, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
REGAL COMMAND (Bhawani Singh, dr.4) lost about a length at the start.
EATON SQUARE (Vivek G., dr.5) lost considerable ground at the start. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.
After the race, WAIKIKI was trotted and found to be sound. MULTIVERSE & TIEPOLO were trotted at the stables and found to be sound.
The Equine Hospital reported that ZARAK had left eye injury (sore) and WIAKIKI had a left eye injury (sore) with ulcer.
RACE NO.8 (132) – THE NITROUS PLATE - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 12
Due to heavy rains rendering the underfoot conditions of the race track not condusive for racing, the Stewards of the Club decided to cancel the above race.

The urine samples of MOMENT OF MADNESS, FIERY RED, PURE FOR SURE & CHAT, i.e. the winner of the 3rd, 5th & 7th race and the special samples of CUBAN PETE (3rd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS:
RE: APP. JOCKEY S. SABA REPORTED TO THE STEWARDS FOR PASSING RACING INFORMATION TO OTHERS :
In connection with the captioned subject matter, the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 12th October 2024, having considered all papers, proceedings before them and after deliberation, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by App. Jockey S. Saba and held him guilty of misconduct under Rule-101(iii) of the Rules of Racing, wherein he had exchanged information and facilitated tips on the whatsapp message to an Ex-Jockey Mr. Hanumant Singh and had also confirmed that he will ask Mr. Srikanth to bet for him. On being asked by the Stewards in this regard, he had no plausible explanation to offer.
Further, arising out of this enquiry, the Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into certain other matters. He is requested to kindly co-operate with the Stipendiary Stewards to ensure that these enquiries are concluded at the earliest.
In view of the above, the Stewards of the Club having taken an overall view of the matter and keeping in mind the severity of the enquiry, have decided to suspend his Apprentice Jockey’s Licence with immediate effect, pending enquiry.
Please note that during the period of his punishment :-
a) He is not permitted to ride work/mock race;
b) He is not permitted to attend racing, on course or off course.
c) All other disabilities applicable to a person suspended/disqualified shall apply to him.
RE: JOCKEY N. B. KULDEEP REPORTED TO THE STEWARDS FOR PASSING RACING INFORMATION ON THE JOCKEYS WHATSAPP GROUP :
In connection with the captioned subject matter, the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 12th October 2024, having considered all papers, proceedings before them and after deliberation, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey N. B. Kuldeep and held him guilty of misconduct under Rule-101(iii) of the Rules of Racing, wherein he had exchanged information and facilitated tips on the Jockey’s whatsapp Group for the races to be held at Pune on 28th July 2024 for which he had no plausible explanation.
Therefore, the Stewards of the Club taking an overall view and keeping in mind all the circumstances of the enquiry, have decided to suspend his Jockey’s Licence for a period of 3 months w.e.f. 27th October 2024 upto 26th January 2025 (both days inclusive).
Please note that during the period of his punishment :-
a) He is not permitted to ride work/mock race;
b) He is not permitted to attend racing, on course or off course.
c) All other disabilities applicable to a person suspended/disqualified shall apply to him.
