RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION. RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

 

On a request from Trainer S. S. Attaollahi, permission was granted to Trainer P. Shroff to saddle his charge TEHANI in the 2nd race, at his own (Trainer S. S. Attaollahi’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (117) – THE PUNE POLICE COMMISSIONER'S TROPHY  - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

TOSCANA (N. B. Kuldeep, dr.2) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer P. S. Chouhan has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

MOONLIGHT KISS (K. Nazil, dr.7) lost about three lengths at the start. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Soon after the start, TOSCANA (N.B.Kuldeep) leaned outwards on to FLOYD (T.S.Jodha) who in turn shifted out and carried SENTINEL (Bhawani Singh) outwards resulting in bumping and unbalancing ANANYA (App. S.Siddharth),  due to this incident FLOYD and SENTINEL were tightened for room and had to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey N. B. Kuldeep has been fined Rs.3,000/- .

 

After the race, Jockey A. Prakash (ARIYANA STAR) reported that approaching the 400 metres his mount was hanging out despite his efforts and finished the race on the outer portion of the track resulting in carrying FLOYD (T. S. Jodha) outwards at the 350 metres. Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ARIYANA STAR, FLOYD & MIRAE were trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that ANANYA had a left eye injury.

 

RACE NO.2 (118) – THE PIONEER TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

Passing the 150 metres, EL GRECO (S. Saqlain) shifted in under the use of whip thereby tightening and inconveniencing FLAMING LAMGORGINI (Vishal N. Bunde) racing along the rails causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied Jockey S. Saqlain has been fined Rs.3,000/-

 

After the race, Jockey H. M. Akshay (VINCENT VAN GOGH) reported that from the 600 metres his mount was hanging out despite his efforts. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey S. J. Sunil (BUBBLY BOY) reported that he was held up for room until passing the 300 metres.

 

After the race, IN THY LIGHT (A. Sandesh) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by left hind. The gelding has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, FLAMING LAMBORGINI was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore. The rig has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, VINCENT VAN GOGH was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3 (119) – THE PUNE POLICE COMMISSIONER'S TROPHY  - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

GALLOPING AHEAD (T. S. Jodha, dr.1) lost about four lengths at the start. Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Passing the 900 metres, APEROL (C. S. Jodha) leaned inwards and made contact with HOUSE OF LORDS (App. S. Siddharth). Thereafter, passing the 700 metres, APEROL shifted in once again when not being sufficiently clear and went across HOUSE OF LORDS, thereby unbalancing the rider. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey C.S.Jodha has been suspended for one Race day. i.e ­ on 2nd November 2024 for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race.)

 

After the race, HOUSE OF LORDS, DULARI & TESS were trotted and found to be sound. APEROL was observed to have a gum injury. PURE was observed to have an injury on his left hind bulb of the heel. DULARI was observed to have an injury on her right hind pastern.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that GALLOPING AHEAD had left eye injury (sore) with ulcer.

 

RACE NO.4 (120) – THE NOSHIR & DOLLY DHUNJIBHOY SPRINT MILLION  (Grade 3): (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

Passing the 900 metres, there was an incident involving MARKET KING (Antony Raj S.) and TIME AND TIDE (A.Sandesh). The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the same and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey P. Trevor (MAGILETO) placed 3rd by the Judge against Jockey A. Sandesh (TIME AND TIDE) placed 2nd by the Judge, reason being, “soon after the start, Jockey A. Sandesh was coming inside all the way till the bend due to which MAGILETO was inconvenienced, had to break his stride and drop his position, which cost him 3 to 4 lengths and lost a certain 2nd place”. The Stewards having watched the replay of the race on the CCTV, in conjunction with the Stipendiary Stewards and acting on their own observations of the race decided to overrule the objection and the placing remained unaltered as declared by the Judge.

 

After the race, MAGILETO & TIME AND TIDE were trotted and found to be sound. TIME AND TIDE was observed to have a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.5 (121) – THE HPSL PUNE DERBY  (Grade 1): (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

DASH (Yash Narredu, dr.2) and DANCING STAR (C. S. Jodha, dr.3) lost about a length each at the start.

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey P. Trevor (SANTISSIMO) placed 2nd by the Judge against Jockey Akshay Kumar (REDEFINED) placed 1st by the Judge, reason being, “coming into the straight, when Jockey P. Trevor was nearing REDEFINED, the colt veered out, bumped him and broke his momentum due to which he lost a certain race and even the whip of Jockey Akshay Kumar hit on the face of SANTISSIMO". The Stewards having watched the replay of the race repeatedly also having viewed it from different angles in conjunction with the Stipendiary Stewards and acting on their own observations of the race decided to overrule the objection and the placing remained unaltered as declared by the Judge.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that DASH had both eye injuries with ulcer.

 

RACE NO.6 (122) – THE JIMMY UMRIGAR TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 14

 

MUMTAZ (Vivek G., dr.7) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, SAMSON (K. Nazil, dr.10) jumped and veered outwards resulting in making contact with AERODYNAMIC (Shrikant Kamble, dr 11).

 

At the start, BLUEBIRD (S. Saqlain, dr.5) whipped around and dislodged the rider. In view of the gelding’s behavior, Trainer P.Shroff has been asked to show his charge in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, WE STILL BELIEVE (Haridas Gore, dr.14) jumped inwards sharply on to EQUALIZER (R. Ajinkya, dr.12) who jumped outwards resulting in the latter bumping and carrying EAGLE DAY (P. Trevor, dr.13) outwards who was marginally slow to begin. After questioning and not being satisfied, App. Haridas Gore has been fined Rs.2,000/- for coming in before the red marker.

 

EQUALIZER (R. Ajinkya, dr.12) jumped and veered outwards and thereafter raced on the outer portion of the track until approaching the 1000 metres. After the race on questioning, Jockey R. Ajinkya stated that this mount was hanging out for the initial part of the race. As such Trainer B. Brithviraj has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MEMPHIS was trotted and found to be sound. KNIGHT CRUSADER was observed to have an injury on right hind fetlock.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that ASHWA KANGTO had both eye injuries (sore) with ulcer.

 

RACE NO.7 (123) – THE JAYANT M. SHAH & CHAMPAK M. SHAH GOLD TROPHY: (ABOUT) 2400 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

After the race, Jockey Vivek G. (BUGATTI) reported that his mount was hanging-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that BUGATTI had both eye injuries (sore).

 

RACE NO.8 (124) – THE VINAYAK TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

Trainer B. Prithviraj has been fined Rs.1,000/- for not producing the registered Racing Colours in respect of his charge ELIZABETH REGINA (App. Aditya Waydande). The horse raced in emergency colours i.e. “ALL BLACK”.

 

Approaching the 1300 metres OPERATION FINALE (S. G. Prasad) shifted in under urgings and went across SORRENTO SECRET (A. Prakash) and WHATSINANAME (S. Saqlain) due to which SHOWMAN (A. Sandesh) shifted in resulting in tightening ANOUSHKA (Amyn Merchant) causing the latter to check and drop back. Thereafter, passing the 1250 metres SORRENTO SECRET (A.Prakash) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing ANOUSHKA (Amyn Merchant) causing the latter to check and drop back. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the same and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the Race, Jockey R.Ajinkya (SHE’S A TEASER) reported that his mount was hanging out despite his efforts until approaching the 400 metres. Trainer S. Waheed has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, SWAROVSKI was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore. The filly has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

The urine samples of the winner of the 3rd, 7th & 8th race, viz. APEROL, BUGATTI & WHATSINANAME and the special samples of IN THY LIGHT (2nd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.

 

The urine and blood samples of the MISS AMERICAN PIE (Winner - 4th race), TIME AND TIDE (2nd place – 4th race), REDEFINED (Winner – 5th race), SANTISSIMO (2nd place – 5th race) & DASH (3rd place – 5th race), was collected for detection of prohibited substances.
