RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED AT IT'S ORIGINAL POSITION. RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.
On a request from Trainer S. S. Attaollahi, permission was granted to Trainer P. Shroff to saddle his charge WEST BROOK in the 6th race, at his own (Trainer S. S. Attaollahi’s) risk and responsibility.
RACE NO.1 (102) – THE YOGENDER SINGH TROPHY - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 11
FIDATO (S. J. Sunil, dr. 8) lost about two lengths at the start.
After the race, STORM CLOUD was trotted and found to be sound. MOJO was observed to have an injury on right fore cannon.
The Equine Hospital reported that MOUNT SINAI had left eye injury (sore).
RACE NO.2 (103) – THE CAPRIOLE PLATE: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS - 6
SPIRITUAL ROCK (Vishal N. Bunde, dr.6) lost about a length at the start.
After the race, TOOFAAN was observed to have an injury on left fore bulb of heel.
RACE NO.3 (104) – THE TRUEFITT & HILL FOUNDER'S TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 9
At the start, ESPERANZA (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.6) stumbled and leaned outwards onto AZRINAZ (A. Sandesh, dr.7) thereafter the former shifted in onto ART COLLECTOR (P. Trevor, dr.5) forcing it inwards onto MUTANT (Vishal N. Bunde, dr.4).
After the race, ART COLLECTOR was trotted and found to be sound. MUTANT was observed to have an injury on left hind coronet.
The Equine Hospital reported that ART COLLECTOR had right eye injury with ulcer. AZRINAZ had both eye injuries (sore).
RACE NO.4 (105) – THE YOGENDER SINGH TROPHY - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 10
At the request of Trainer Shazaan Shah, LORD MURPHY was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 10:30 a.m. on 5th October 2024, at the stables and was found to be sore by right fore, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
At the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, MIRAE (K. Nazil) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., at the starting gates and was found to be sore by right fore, as such, the mare was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
At the request of Jockey R. Ajinkya, REDOUBLE was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at the starting gates and was certified fit to race.
HAGIBIS (S. A. Amit, dr.3) was restless in the stall and was not allowing the rider to settle. Trainer H. J. Antia has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, LORD VADER (App. Bharat Singh, dr.11) jumped outwards and had to be steadied.
At the start, SUPERIMPOSE (App. N. Bhosale, dr.2) jumped outwards onto HAGIBIS (S. A. Amit, dr.3) who had to be steadied.
After the race, App. S. Siddharth (JET TYPHOON) reported that in the final stages of the race his reins slipped momentarily.
After the race, REDOUBLE was trotted and found to be sound. MRIGA was observed to have an injury on right hind fetlock.
RACE NO.5 (106) – THE OCTOBER HANDICAP: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 13
REGOLI (App. S. Saba, dr.4) planted in the stall thereafter took no practical part in the race. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
STAR OF ASIA (App. N. Bhosale, dr.6) lost about five lengths at the start. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
EXOTIC STAR (App. Haridas Gore, dr.8) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer S. Waheed has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Passing the 750 metres, THALASSA (S. Saqlain) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing CREATIVE GIRL (Akshay Kumar) causing the latter to be checked, thereafter, passing the 700 metres, in an attempt to take a narrow gap along the rails, THALASSA got unbalanced and dropped back. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey S. Saqlain has been fined Rs.3,000/-
Approaching the 700 metres, ZENDAYA (A. Sandesh) leaned inwards due to which ASHWA KANGTO (A. Prakash) racing on its haunches clipped the former and stumbled. Jockey A. Sandesh has been cautioned.
Approaching the 300 metres, it was observed that ASHWA KANGTO (A. Prakash) shifted out under the use of whip. Jockey A.Prakash has been cautioned.
After the race, THALASSA was observed to have an injury on the right hind bulb of heel and pastern. ASHWA KANGTO was observed to have lost its left fore shoe. ZENDAYA was observed to have an injury on right hind bulb of heel and also lost its right hind shoe. AFFLUENCE was observed to have an injury on the left hock.
The Equine Hospital reported that PURPLE MARTINI had left eye injury (sore) with ulcer. SCARLET SENSATION had left eye injury with ulcer.
RACE NO.6 (107) – THE THREPTIN FILLIES' & MARES' STAKES (GRADE 3): (ABOUT) 1800 METRES – RUNNERS - 3
It was observed that during the leading in of JULIETTE, children below 12 years of age were seen on the track. As such, Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been fined Rs.2,000/- for the lapse on his part as per the Calendar notification in this regard.
RACE NO.7 (108) – THE NANA RAGHUNATH TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 12
At the request of Trainer Hosidar Daji, BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 10:45 a.m. on 3rd October 2024, at the stables and was found to be sore by left fore, as such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
STALIN (Akshay Kumar, dr.13) refused to be stalled despite of substantial efforts. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
LITTLE MINISTER (Amyn Merchant, dr.10) lost about three lengths at the start. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
MADISON (S. J. Sunil, dr.7) lost about a length at the start.
After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (EARTH) reported that his mount was hanging out in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, EARTH was trotted and found to be sound.
After the race, MADISON was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have a lip injury and an abrasion on his chest. Further, at the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, the gelding was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at the stables on 6th October 2024, and was found to have a sore back.
The Equine Hospital reported that MADISON had right eye injury (sore) with ulcer.
RACE NO.8 (109) – THE GRUEZI PLATE: (ABOUT) 1800 METRES – RUNNERS - 10
BRAVE BEAUTY (K. Nazil, dr.6) lost about four lengths at the start. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the mare to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Passing the 1400 metres, GIANT KING (S. J. Sunil) shifted out thereby carrying CONSTABLE (S. Saqlain) outwards resulting in WAIKIKI (N. S. Parmar) being inconvenienced. Jockey S. J. Sunil has been cautioned.
After the race, GIANT KING was trotted and found to be sound. CONSTABLE was observed to have an injury on right hind fetlock.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 7th & 8th race, viz. GYPSY SOUL, CELESTIAL & WAIKIKI and the special samples of ART COLLECTOR (3rd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
The urine and blood samples of the JULIETTE (Winner – 6th race) & WEST BROOK (2nd Place – 6th race), was collected for detection of prohibited substances.

The Equine Hospital reported that ODYSSEUS had right eye injury (sore) with ulcer. MILA had left eye injury (sore) with ulcer. CHARDIKALA had left eye injury (sore) with ulcer.

RE: APPEAL FROM MR. BALAM MOHLA AGAINST THE DECISION OF THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB TO REVOKE / CANCEL THE PERMISSION GRANTED TO HIM TO OWN AND RACE HORSES W.E.F 4TH AUGUST 2024 UPTO THE END OF THE PUNE MEETING 2024 I.E. 3RD NOVEMBER 2024 - ENQUIRY INTO THE OWNERSHIP / LEADING-IN OF CH C 4 "ENABLER".
In connection with the captioned subject matter, the Board of Appeal at their meeting held on Wednesday, 25th September 2024, having considered Appeal dated 21st July 2024 from Mr. Balam Mohla, all documents and papers that were submitted including his grounds of appeal and heard the submissions made by him and his spokesman, Mr. Narendra Lagad. The Board of Appeal having deliberated on the matter at length, decided to allow his appeal and refund the deposit.

RE: LOOKING INTO THE FALL OF APP. MUSTAKIM ALAM (SHOWMAN) IN RACE NO.64 – THE CAPITULATE PLATE: RUN ON 31ST AUGUST 2024:
Approaching the 400 metres, it was observed that in an effort to take a narrow gap along the rails App. Mustakim Alam (SHOWMAN) racing on the haunches of COMANECI (S. G. Prasad) clipped the heels of the latter and went down along with the rider.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF UNTITLED (S. J. SUNIL) IN RACE NO.58 – THE COL. KAIKUSHROO MANECKJI BHARUCHA MEMORIAL TROPHY - DIVISION II: RUN ON 31ST AUGUST 2024:
The Stipendiary Stewards held an enquiry into the running and riding of UNTITLED (S. J. Sunil), having considered the submissions made by Jockey S. J. Sunil and Trainer H. J. Antia, the explanations made by both were noted. Trainer H. J. Antia was informed that the running of his charge UNTITLED would be followed in the future.

RE: JOCKEY M. S. DEORA FAILED TO REPORT ON 23RD AUGUST 2024:
Jockey M. S. Deora had failed to report at the weighing room for his riding engagements of the day, hence, the respective Trainers were permitted to declare the change of Jockeys on their respective charges. After questioning and not being satisfied with his explanation, Jockey M. S. Deora has been fined Rs.5,000/-

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF KHALEESI (T. S. JODHA) IN RACE NO.52 – THE RACE MIRROR TROPHY: RUN ON 23RD AUGUST 2024:
The Stipendiary Stewards held an enquiry into the running and riding of KHALEESI (T. S. Jodha), having considered the submissions made by Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain and Jockey T. S. Jodha.
Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain was informed that a close watch would be kept on the filly’s performance in the future and Jokey T. S. Jodha was asked to be more careful in the future.

RE: RACE NO.49 – THE F. D. WADIA TROPHY (GRADE 3): RUN ON 17TH AUGUST 2024:
FIELD OF DREAMS (Akshay Kumar) entered the paddock sporting the wrong saddle as such, the filly was taken back to the saddling enclosure and the jockey was made to weigh out before re-saddling. Subsequently, having questioned all concerned, Trainer Dallas Todywalla and Jockey Akshay Kumar were fined Rs.1,000/- each for the lapse on their part and were asked to be more careful in the future.

RE: RACE NO.18 – THE RONIN PLATE: RUN ON 6TH AUGUST 2024:
After the above race, Mr. Kapil Bahl, part owner of GODDES OF DAWN had expressed his dissatisfaction with the riding of App. N. Bhosale on GODDES OF DAWN. A detailed enquiry was held into the matter. After reviewing all the races of the filly, scrutinizing the betting sheets and relying on the submissions made by Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain and App. Jockey N. Bhosale, their explanations were noted for the future.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “DASH” (DRAWN 5) IN RACE NO.9 – THE COLUMBIA PLATE (DIST. 1200 MTRS.) RUN ON 21ST JULY 2024.
In connection with the captioned subject matter, the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on 15th August 2024 considered the submissions made by Trainer M. Narredu and Jockey Yash Narredu as also the Stipendiary Stewards and having viewed the back view of the race in question, decided to severely warn Jockey Yash Narredu for his riding in the future.
