RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED AT 3 METRES WIDE FROM 2400 METRES TO 1000 METRES THEREAFTER 4 METRES WIDE UP TO THE WINNING POST.

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 4 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

 

On a request from Trainer S. S. Attaollahi, permission was granted to Trainer P. Shroff to saddle his charge IL VOLO in the 3rd race, at his own (Trainer S. S. Attaollahi’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (65) – THE JAIDEV TROPHY  - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS -  11

 

MIGHTY WINGS (K. Pranil, dr.8) jumped out awkwardly at the start and had to be steadied.

 

BENIGNITY (App. Haridas Gore, dr.5) threw its head up at the start and had to be steadied.

 

Soon after the start, PHANTA (Neeraj Rawal) leaned outwards onto MOJO (Amyn Merchant) who in turn shifted out carrying CHIEFTAIN (Vishal N. Bunde) outwards causing the latter to be steadied.

 

Before passing the red marker, HOUSE OF LORDS (App. S. Saba) shifted in onto HILMA KLINT (K. Nazil) who in turn shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing NORTHERN SINGER (App. Mustakim Alam) causing the latter to check and drop back resulting in tightening and inconveniencing MALAKHI (T. S. Jodha) racing on its haunches who had to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied, App. S. Saba has been fined Rs.5,000/- and has been severely cautioned for the future.

 

Approaching the 150 metres, PHANTA (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing NAIROBI (App. Kirtish Bhagat) along the rails who had to be checked. After questioning, Jockey Neeraj Rawal stated that his mount was lugging-in in the straight under pressure. Considering the incident, Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

After the race, PHANTA was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MIGHTY WINGS was trotted and found to be sound and NORTHERN SINGER was observed to have an injury on right hind fetlock and HOUSE OF LORDS was observed to have a gum injury.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that MALAKHI had left eye injury (sore) with ulcer.

 

RACE NO.2 (66) –  THE STAR FUTURE PLATE: (ABOUT) 2400 METRES – RUNNERS - 3

 

BIG RED (S. Saqlain, dr. 3) lost about two lengths at the start.

 

After the race, FLAMING LAMBORGINI was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore. The rig has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, BIG RED was trotted and found to be sound and EXUMA was observed to have an injury on right hind coronet and on the left bulb of heel.

 

RACE NO.3 (67) – THE S. K. SUNDERJI TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS -  11

 

At the start, STAR ROMANCE (S. G. Prasad, dr.5) threw its head up and had to be steadied.

 

At the start, ART COLLECTOR (T. S. Jodha, dr.7) jumped inwards thereby carrying FINCH (Bhawani Singh, dr.6) inwards.

 

Approaching the 900 metres, EARTH (App. Haridas Gore) shifted in thereby tightening APEROL (P. S. Kaviraj) causing the latter to be checked. App. Haridas Gore has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 300 metres, APEROL (P. S. Kaviraj) shifted in thereby tightening EARTH (App. Haridas Gore) racing along the rails causing the latter to be checked. Jockey P. S. Kaviraj has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 150 metres, KARIENA (A. Sandesh) shifted out under urgings and went across BELIEVE (App. Mustakim Alam) causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey A. Sandesh has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

It was observed that in his effort to settle his mount, IL VOLO (Shreyas Singh S.) kept throwing its head up. After questioning, Jockey Shreyas Singh S. confirmed the observation and added that the gelding has a soft mouth and has also done the same in the past. Trainer S. S. Attaollahi has been asked to take corrective measures, before next accepting to race 

 

After the race, EARTH was observed to have an injury on right hock and the right hind coronet and fetlock.

 

After the race, FINCH was trotted at the stables and found to be sound but was observed to have an injury on right hind fetlock.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that IL VOLO had left eye injury (sore) with ulcer, FINCH had both eye injuries with ulcer in right eye and STAR ROMANCE had right eye injury with ulcer.

 

RACE NO.4 (68) – THE DINKOO N. CHENOY TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES –RUNNERS- 13

 

STAR OF ASIA (K. Nazil) reared up and flipped over in the stall, as such the filly was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to have a bleeding injury on left stifle, as such, certified her unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, CINDERELLA’S DREAM (Amyn Merchant, dr.6) jumped inwards and went across ALARICUS (K. Pranil, dr.5) who was marginally slow to begin causing the latter to be steadied.

 

Passing the 400 metres, MARCUS (Vivek G.) shifted out and went across CINDERELLA’S DREAM (Amyn Merchant) causing the latter to check and change course, thereafter, CINDERELLA’S DREAM shifted in thereby tightening and carrying KINGSLAND (T. S. Jodha) inwards who had to be steadied due to which CREATIVE GIRL (C. S. Jodha) racing on its haunches was tightened for room along the rails and had to check and drop back. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockeys Vivek G. and Amyn Merchant have been fined Rs.3,000/- each.

 

Approaching the 150 metres, CINDERELLA’S DREAM (Amyn Merchant) shifted out under use of whip thereby inconveniencing and carrying WE STILL BELIEVE (App. Haridas Gore) outwards. Jockey Amyn Merchant has been cautioned. 

 

After the race, Jockey R. Ajinkya (SPARKLING DEW) reported that his mount was hanging out throughout the race. Trainer B. Prithviraj has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey S. A. Amit (SILVER STRIKE) reported that his mount was hanging-in in the straight, despite his efforts.

 

After the race, SILVER STRIKE was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore. The rig has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, CREATIVE GIRL and MARCUS were trotted and found to be sound and GYPSY SOUL was observed to have a gum injury.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that the left hind shoe of SPARKLING DEW was observed to have splayed at the stables.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that MARCUS had right eye injury (sore) with ulcer.

 

RACE NO.5 (69) – THE SEPTEMBER HANDICAP: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 10

 

STALIN (N. S. Parmar, dr.9) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

GOODFELLOW (App. Haridas Gore, dr.10) lost about a length at the start.

 

After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (REGINA MEMORABILIS) reported that approaching the 200 metres his mount drifted out under pressure thereby carrying ARKADIAN (Vivek G.) outwards. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey K. Nazil (SAIFA) reported that his mount was hanging-in in the straight, despite his efforts and that approaching the 300 metres his reins slipped momentarily. Trainer Altamaash A. Ahmed has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, LORD ERIC & STALIN were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6 (70) –  THE AKKASAHEB MAHARAJ TROPHY  (Grade 3): (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 4

 

At the request of Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain, MAGILETO was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 09:00 a.m. on 7th September 2024, at the stables and was found to be sore by left fore with a swelling on both fore and left hind, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, SON OF A GUN (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.5) jumped outwards and had to be steadied.

 

After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (TIME AND TIDE) reported that his mount was hanging-in in the straight, despite his best efforts. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, TIME AND TIDE was trotted and found to be sound. Further, at the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, endoscopy was performed on the colt and was found to have EIPH (Gr.II).

 

RACE NO.7 (71) –  THE JAIDEV TROPHY  - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 12

 

FIDATO (Neeraj Rawal, dr.9) planted in the stall thereby losing considerable ground at the start. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

CHAMPAGNE SMILE (Vishal N. Bunde, dr.3) threw its head up at the start and had to be steadied.

 

At the start, FIERY RED (A. Sandesh, dr.12) jumped inwards and made contact with ENLIGHTENED (C. S. Jodha, dr.11).

 

In the final stages of the race, ENLIGHTENED (C. S. Jodha) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing MY PRINCESS (T. S. Jodha) racing along the rails, causing the latter to be checked. After the race on questioning, Jockey C. S. Jodha (ENLIGHTENED) stated that his mount was hanging-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Nazzak B. Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MY PRINCESS was observed to have an injury on left hind stifle, CHAMPAGNE SMILE was observed to have an injury on right nostril and FIERY RED was observed to have lost its right fore shoe.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that after the race, the mouth of ENLIGHTENED was checked and no abnormality was found.

 

RACE NO.8 (72) –  THE ISHPINGO PLATE: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

Passing the 200 metres, ZACAPA (App. Mustakim Alam) shifted in under the use of whip onto SPIRIT BAY (K. Pranil) who in turn shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing MARLBORO MAN (S. Saqlain) racing along the rails who had to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied, App. Mustakim Alam has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

After the race, Jockey K. Pranil (SPIRIT BAY) reported that the saddle used on his mount had shifted forward during the race. This being the first instance of faulty saddling during the current Pune Meeting 2024, Tr. Shazaan Shah has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, AWAY SHE GOES was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by left fore. The mare has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ZACAPA & TOOFAAN were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd, 3rd, 5th & 7th race, viz. EXUMA, CHRISTOPHANY, MYSTERIOUSSTRANGER & ARIES, and the special samples of TIME AND TIDE (6th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

 

The urine and blood samples of the MISS AMERICAN PIE (Winner - 6th race) & MARKET KING (2nd place – 6th race), and the special samples of MARCUS (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
