RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION. RAILS WERE PLACED 7 METRES WIDE IN THE POSITION.
On a request from Trainer H. J. Antia, permission was granted to Trainer Adil Dajee to saddle his charges RECIPROCITY in the 1st race, FLASHING FAMOUS and UNTITLED in the 2nd race, EXPEDITE in the 4th race, LUMINOSITY and HAGIBIS in the 5th race, OTELLO in the 8th race and MAYSARA in the 9th race, at his own (Trainer H. J. Antia’s) risk and responsibility.
RACE NO.1 (1) – THE ELEGANCE PLATE - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 11
RECIPROCITY (P. S. Kaviraj) entered the paddock sporting the wrong saddle cloth number as such Trainer Adil Dajee was asked to make the necessary change and was asked to ensure that the Jockey weigh out before re-saddling. Subsequently, after the race having questioned both Trainer Adil Dajee and Jockey P. S. Kaviraj they were fined Rs.1,000/- each for the lapse on their part and were asked to be more careful in the future.
MARIELLA (P. Vinod, dr.6) took a fly jump thereby losing about 2 lengths at the start.
Soon after the start, SORRENTO SECRET (Akshay Kumar) shifted in at the same time LIGHTNING BLAZE (App. N .Bhosale) shifted out thereby tightening FANTASTIC FLARE (App. S. Saba) racing between them. After questioning Jockey Akshay Kumar and App. N. Bhosale, both have been cautioned.
Passing the 1000 metres, FANTASTIC FLARE (App. S. Saba) leaned inwards thereby inconveniencing TOOFAAN (A. S. Peter) who had to be steadied. App. S. Saba has been cautioned.
Passing the 200 metres, RECIPROCITY (P. S. Kaviraj) shifted in under use of the whip at the same time ZIP ALONG (App. Mustakim Alam) shifted out thereby tightening and inconveniencing SORRENTO SECRET (Akshay Kumar) causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey P. S. Kaviraj has been fined Rs.2,000/- and App. Mustakim Alam has been cautioned.
After the race, FANTASTIC FLARE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, TOOFAAN was found to have an injury on left hind fetlock.
RACE NO.2 (2) – THE VIBRANT PLATE - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 12
Soon after the start, TREASURE GOLD (S. Mosin, dr.9) leaned inwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing QUEENS PRIDE (T. S. Jodha, dr.8) who had to be steadied. Jockey S. Mosin has been fined Rs.1,000/-.
Approaching the 100 metres, SERRANO (N. S. Parmar) shifted out thereby inconveniencing NORTHERN SINGER (App. Mustakim Alam). After the race on questioning, Jockey N. S. Parmar stated that his mount hung out in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, Jockey P. S. Kaviraj (FLASHING FAMOUS) reported loss of whip, approaching the 300 metres. This being his first instance during the current Pune Meeting 2024, no action has been initiated.
After the race, SERRANO & BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY were trotted and found to be sound and MALET SPRING was found to have an injury on left fore bulb of heel.
The Equine Hospital reported that QUICKER had both eye injuries with ulcer.
RACE NO.3 (3) – THE SEASON OPENER PLATE: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 14
KIMIKO (Antony Raj S., dr.6) lost about a length at the start.
STUNNING VISUAL (K. Nazil, dr.10) lost about 3 lengths at the start. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the mare to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
REMY RED (App. S. Saba, dr.5) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
MALAKHI (Shamaz Shareef, dr.14) was observed to have stumbled at the start.
Approaching the 200 metres, MALAKHI (Shamaz Shareef) shifted out under the use of whip thereby carrying COIN EMPRESS (App. Mustakim Alam) outwards due to which SCORCESE (P. Vinod) racing on its haunches was observed to have clipped the former and stumbled. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey Shamaz Shareef has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (TREAT) reported loss of whip passing the 200 metres. This being his first instance during the current Pune Meeting 2024, no action has been initiated.
The Equine Hospital reported that STUNNING VISUAL had right eye injury (sore).
RACE NO.4 (4) – THE D. K. ASHISH TROPHY - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES –RUNNERS- 11
At the start, THE SENGOL QUEEN (A. S. Peter, dr.6) jumped outwards onto FABLE (A. Sandesh, dr.7) thereafter DAZLING DUCHESS (P. Trevor, dr.8) shifted in thereby bumping and forcing FABLE inwards due to which THE SENGOL QUEEN was tightened for room a and had to be checked. Jockey P. Trevor has been severely reprimanded.
In the early part of the race, EXPEDITE (Bhawani Singh) was observed to have maintained an erratic course. After the race on questioning, Jockey Bhawani Singh stated that his mount was hesitant and was shying away from the other runners, despite his efforts. Trainer H. J. Antia has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, TRILLIONAIRE was trotted and found to be sound and EXPEDITE was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.
The Equine Hospital reported that THE SENGOL QUEEN had right eye injury with ulcer (sore).
RACE NO.5 (5) – THE VIBRANT PLATE - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 11
At the start, HILMA KLIMT (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.3) jumped outwards onto HOUSE OF LORDS (App. N. Bhosale, dr.4) who in turn shifted out and went across ARBITRAGE (App. Haridas Gore, dr.5) causing the latter to clipped the former and stumbled. App. Mustakim Alam has been cautioned.
At the start, TURN AND BURN (N. S. Parmar, dr.11) jumped and veered out, as such, had to be steadied.
After the race, HILMA KLINT was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by left fore. The mare has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, RAISE THE STAKES and STREET SENSE were trotted and found to be sound.
The Equine Hospital reported that WANDERLUST had left eye injury (sore).
RACE NO.6 (6) – THE D. K. ASHISH TROPHY - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 11
As the start was affected, SAIFA (K. Nazil, dr.2) who was fractious in the stall ducked and lost a length.
Soon after the start, DIVINE HOPE (Yash Narredu) shifted in under urgings and went across ZARKAN (S. A. Amit) who had to be steadied thereafter DIVINE HOPE further shifted in thereby bumping and forcing HIGHGROUND (C. S. Jodha) inwards causing it to brush the haunches of OKINAYUME (Bhawani Singh) at this point WILD CHILD (Prashant P. Dhebe) leaned outwards onto OKINAYUME forcing it out due to which HIGHGOUND had to be checked. After questioning all concerned, Jockeys Prashant P. Dhebe and Yash Narredu have been fined Rs.2,000/- each.
After the race, DIVINE HOPE was trotted and found to be sound and OKINAYUME was found to have a gum injury.
RACE NO.7 (7) – THE WINFAIR247 GAMING TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 13
After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (GEOGRAPHIQUE) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, COUNT OF SAVOY was found to have an injury on both hind fetlock and ROYAL MYSORE was found to have an injury on left hind pastern.
The Equine Hospital reported that ROYAL MYSORE had left eye injury with ulcer (sore).
RACE NO.8 (8) – THE ELEGANCE PLATE - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 12
JUST REWARD (K. Nazil, dr.6) was fractious at the gates, reared up and got his fore legs caught up in the adjoining draw no.5. The horse was taken out and examined by the Sr. V.O and found to have a gum injury, however, certified the gelding fit to race. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
CHARMING STAR (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.11) lost about two lengths at the start.
At the start, TANHAIYAAN (Amyn Merchant, dr.4) reared up as the start was effected resulting in dislodging its rider. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, MILLI (P. S. Kaviraj, dr.5) jumped outwards throwing its head up at the same time KHALEESI (A. Sandesh, dr.7) leaned inwards due to which JUST REWARD (K. Nazil, dr.6) drawn between them was tightened for room and had to be checked.
Soon after the start, CHAMPAGNE SMILE (App. N. Bhosale) shifted in and went across ALPHA GENE (S. A. Amit) who had to be steadied.
Passing the 300 metres, CHAMPAGNE SMILE (App. N.Bhosale) shifted in under the use of whip thereby tightening and inconveniencing KHALEESI (A. Sandesh) along the rails causing it to check and change course. After questioning and not being satisfied, App. N. Bhosale has been suspended for two race days i.e. on 10th and 15th August 2024, for careless riding (permitted to ride work / mock race).
In the final stages of the race, KHALEESI (A. Sandesh) leaned in thereby tightening OTELLO (R. Shelar). Jockey A. Sandesh has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
After the race, KHALEESI and JUST REWARD were trotted and found to be sound and TANHAIYAAN was found to have a gum injury.
The Equine Hospital reported that WARRIOR PRINCE had left eye injury with ulcer (sore).

The Equine Hospital reported that MILLI had both eye injuries with ulcer.
RACE NO.9 (9) – THE COLUMBIA PLATE: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 14
PHENOM (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.8) was reluctant to be backed in. Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, DASH (Yash Narredu, dr.5) jumped outwards and had to be steadied.
Soon after the start, PHENOM (Prashant P. Dhebe) jumped outwards and went across STAR ROMANCE (A. S. Peter) and bumped STAR GALLERY (Neeraj Rawal) who had to be steadied.
The Stipendiary Stewards are looking into the running and riding of DASH (Yash Narredu) and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, DASH was trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 3rd, 4th & 7th race, viz. ZIP ALONG, SPANISH EYES, APEROL & ROYAL MYSORE, and the special samples of DIVINE HOPE (6th race) & DASH (9th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
