RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED AT THE ORIGINAL POINT.

 

RACE NO.1 (98) – THE HPSL MARATHI CUP: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS -  15

 

PHENOM (N. S. Parmar) lost about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, SAN SALVATORE (K. Nazil, dr.11) jumped inwards and made contact with CHRISTOPHANY (Anthony Raj S., dr.10), thereafter, FLOYD (Mustakim Alam, dr.12) shifted in thereby tightening SAN SALVATORE who had to be checked. App. Mustakim Alam has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey M. S. Deora (WINTER AGENDA) reported loss of whip approaching the 300 metres. This being his first instance during the current Mumbai Meeting 2023/24, no action has been initiated.

 

After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar (PHENOM) reported that his mount was hanging-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ASHWA YASHODHRA was found to have an injury on left hind fetlock and MAJORELLA BLUE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2 (99) –  THE RUSI PATEL TROPHY  (Grade 3): (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 6

 

Approaching the 400 metres, CHOPIN (Neeraj Rawal) leaned inwards thereby tightening RASPUTIN (Vivek G.) causing the latter to be checked. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey Tom Marquand (NORTHERN LIGHTS) reported loss of whip passing the 400 metres. This being his first instance during the current Mumbai Meeting 2023/24, no action has been initiated.

 

After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (CHOPIN) reported lost of whip approaching the 100 metres. This being his first instance during the current Mumbai Meeting 2023/24, no action has been initiated.

 

After the race, NORTHERN LIGHTS was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3 (100) – THE KEKI D. MEHTA MEMORIAL MILLION: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

On the arrival at the start, at the request of Jockey Yash Narredu (DIVINE HOPE), his mount was examined by the Clubs Sr. V.O., who certified him fit to race.

 

PYRITE (Imran Chisty, dr.3) was reluctant to be stalled despite substantial efforts. As such, the filly was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer S. Waheed has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, DESERT CLASSIC (F. Norton, dr.1) jumped and veered outwards thereby inconveniencing the field on his outside. Trainer Imtiaz A Sait has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, ABHIDHYAN (Santosh G., dr.4) jumped outwards and had to be steadied.

 

At the start, DIVINE HOPE (Yash Narredu, dr.7) jumped, veered outwards and had to be steadied.

 

It was observed that DIVINE HOPE (Yash Narredu) was inclined outwards in the straight. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, DIVINE HOPE & SEEKING ALPHA were trotted and found to be sound and ABHIDHYAN was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4 (101) – THACKERS ECLIPSE STAKES OF INDIA  (Grade 2): (ABOUT) 2000 METRES –RUNNERS- 5

RACE NO.5 (102) – THE SIR HOMI MEHTA BREEDERS' PRODUCE STAKES  (Grade 3): (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 6

 

At the request of Trainer S. S. Attaollahi, EXCEED was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. in the stable area at 10.25 p.m. on 31st January, 2024 and was found to be sore by right hind and had fever, as such, the colt was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, VINCERO (P. S. Chouhan, dr.4) jumped outwards thereby inconveniencing SPANISH EYES (F. Norton, dr.5) who had to be steadied.

 

It was observed that SPANISH EYES (F. Norton) was inclined outwards in the straight thereby carrying VINCERO (P. S. Chouhan) outwards.

 

RACE NO.6 (103) –  THE B. K. RATTONSEY MEMORIAL MAIDEN MULTI-MILLION: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 13

 

CHARDIKALA (K. Nazil, dr.10) lashed out while being backed in as such at the request of Jockey K. Nazil, the filly was examined by the Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right hind. Hence, the filly was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds before coming under the Starter’s order and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race. Further, Trainer Altamash A. Ahmed has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, READY TO RUMBLE (N. S. Parmar, dr.12) jumped and veered outwards and went across THALASSA (Imran Chisty, dr.13) who had to be steadied. After the race, Jockey Imran Chisty stated that his mount lacked initial speed in spite of him niggling.

 

Passing the 300 metres, STORM CLOUD (App. Mustakim Alam) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing SILVER BRAID (Anthony Raj S.) causing the latter to check and drop back. After the race, on questioning, App. Mustakim Alam stated that his mount leaned inwards, not being entirely satisfied with the explanation tendered. App. Mustakim Alam has been cautioned.

 

It was observed that SUPERLUMINAL (Vishal N. Bunde) was denied a clear passage in the straight.

 

After the race, Jockey C. Umesh (VILLANELLE) reported that he was tightened for room until passing the 300 metres.

 

RACE NO.7 (104) –  THE HPSL INDIAN DERBY  (Grade 1): (ABOUT) 2400 METRES – RUNNERS - 12

 

At the request of Trainer P. Shroff, CAPITOLIUM was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. in the stable area on 1st February, 2024 and was found to be sore by right fore, as such, the colt was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

Approaching the 600 metres, CONSTABLE (App. Kirtish Bhagat) weakened and dropped back due to which DREAM ALLIANCE (Anthony Raj S.) racing on its haunches had to check and change course thereby inconveniencing JENDAYI (P. S. Chouhan) racing alongside, who momentarily lost her footing and had to be steadied.

 

After the race, DREAM ALLIANCE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, SYNTHESIS was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8 (105) –  THE GROMOR MILLION: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

After the race, endoscopy was performed on LORD AND MASTER by a private vet and was found to have EIPH (Gr.III) and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.9 (106) –   THE HPSL TAMIL CUP: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 13

 

ZIP ALONG (Mustakim Alam, dr.13) was reluctant to be stalled despite substantial efforts. As such, the mare was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the mare to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, FREMONT (H. M. Akshay, dr.5) jumped outwards thereby inconveniencing DON’T BE SHY (R. Shelar, dr.6), causing the latter to be checked. Jockey H. M. Akshay has been cautioned.

The urine sample of the winner of the 1st race & 9th race, viz. STAR PROSPERITY & DUFY, and the special sample of DREAM ALLIANCE (7th race), was collected for detection of prohibited substance.

 

The urine and blood samples of the MOJITO (Winner – 2nd race), COUNT OF SAVOY (2nd place – 2nd race), GOLDEN THUNDER (Winner – 3rd race), JULIETTE (Winner – 4th race), DYF (2nd place – 4th race), THE PANTHER (Winner – 5th race), RUNNING STAR (2nd place – 5th race), FIORENTINI (Winner – 6th race), ENABLER (Winner – 7th race), SYNTHESIS (2nd place – 7th race), JAMARI (3rd place – 7th race), DEXA (Winner - 8th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE: MORNING TRACKWORK ON 4TH FEBRUARY 2024

 

SUNBURST was observed to have broken a blood vessel (2nd time) and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of eight weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
