ADDITIONAL REPORT:

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE CARELESS RIDING ON “EL GRECO” (DRAWN 6) IN RACE NO.2 – THE P. B. AVASIA PLATE RUN ON 23RD NOVEMBER 2023 – JOCKEY C. UMESH – STEWARDS ENQUIRY:

In connection with the captioned subject, the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 3rd December 2023, considered all the papers and proceedings before them and heard the submissions made by Jockey C. Umesh, as also the Stipendiary Stewards and having viewed the video recording of the race in question, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by him. In that, from the 350 metres he shifted out under urgings thereby tightening the field on his outside due to which CHENEVIX TRENCH (Neeraj Rawal) racing on his haunches was tightened for room and thereby lost its footing and fell along with the rider. Therefore, the Stewards held him guilty of careless riding on his mount EL GRECO in the above race and decided as follows;

i)      To suspend his Jockeys licence for one race day i.e. on 24th December 2023,

      (permitted to ride work/mock race) and

ii)     To fine him a sum of Rs.10,000/-
