RACE NO.1(127) – THE IRISH BOSS PLATE  - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS -  12

 

At the start, CHAMPAGNE SMILE (Vishal N. Bunde, dr.4) jumped inwards and made contact with VICTORY CHANT (M. S. Deora, dr.3).

 

Passing the 100 metres, it was observed that VICTORY CHANT (M. S. Deora) stumbled and fell along with the rider, the gelding was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to have a swelling due to a fracture on its right shoulder, as such, the gelding was euthanized on humanitarian grounds.

 

It was observed that MARIELLA (H. Zeeshan) was travelling wide throughout the race for no apparent reason. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey H. Zeeshan has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

Jockey S. Saqlain had failed to give his Breathalyzer Test before his first ride of the day. Subsequently his test was taken immediately after his ride in the first race and the report was negative. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey S. Saqlain has been fined a sum of Rs.3,000/-.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the improved performance of HOUSE OF LORDS (A. K. Aniket) and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that ZIP ALONG was found to have sore left eye and HOUSE OF LORDS was found to have sore right eye.

 

RACE NO.2(128) – THE DOPAHAR TROPHY  - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS -  11

 

REMY RED (Shrikant Kamble, dr.9) swayed his head as the start was effected resulting in the gelding losing about two lengths at the start.

 

Passing the 800 metres, ZUKOR (S. Saqlain) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing ART COLLECTOR (Neeraj Rawal) causing the latter to be checked. Jockey S. Saqlain has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 200 metres, ART COLLECTOR (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in and went across JETFIRE (Prashant P. Dhebe) causing the latter to check and change course. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

After the race, TYRONE BLACK was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by left fore, as such, the gelding has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ART COLLECTOR was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(129) – THE BETBRICKS7 SPRINT: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS -  12

 

At the start, FORTUNE TELLER (Amyn Merchant, dr.7) jumped outwards and went across ASHWA MAGADHEERA (A. S. Peter, dr.8) who had to be steadied. Jockey Amyn Merchant has been cautioned.

 

Approaching the 700 metres, MAJESTIC WARRIOR (App. Mustakim Alam) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing SUPERLATIVE (P. Shinde) along the rails causing the latter to be checked. App. Mustakim Alam has been cautioned.

 

Approaching the 300 metres, FORTUNE TELLER (Amyn Merchant) shifted out thereby tightening and inconveniencing DILBAR (P. Vinod) causing the latter to be checked. Jockey Amyn Merchant has been cautioned.

 

After the race, ESPERANZA was observed to have broken a blood vessel (2nd time) and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of eight weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ASHWA MAGADHEERA was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that MAJESTIC WARRIOR was found to have sore right eye.

 

RACE NO.4(130) – THE DOPAHAR TROPHY  - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES –RUNNERS- 12

 

On the arrival at the start, RED MERLOT was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O who certified the gelding fit to race.

 

After being stalled, ULTIMO (R. Ajinkya, dr.8) reared up, hooked his fore in the adjoining stall, the gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, ULTIMO (R. Ajinkya, dr.8) jumped outwards thereby bumping and forcing ATTAINED (P. Trevor, dr.9)  onto MONARCHY (Shahrukh Khan, dr.10) and MY PRINCESS (P. Vinod, dr.11) who were tightened for room and had be checked. Jockey R. Ajinkya has been cautioned.

 

At the start, RED MERLOT (A. S. Peter, dr.3) jumped outwards awkwardly thereby bumping MOJO (Amyn Merchant, dr.4) who had to be steadied.

 

At the start, SIM SIM (S. Saqlain, dr.6) jumped inwards and made contact with WALSHY (S. J. Sunil, dr.5) who was marginally slow to begin.

 

Soon after the start, MAYSARA (App. Haridas Gore) leaned inwards and went across MY PRINCESS (P. Vinod) causing the latter to be steadied. App. Haridas Gore has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey S. Saqlain (SIM SIM) reported loss of whip passing the 200 metres. This being his second instance during the current Pune Meeting 2023, he has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, ULTIMO was trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that ATTAINED was found to have sore right eye and MOJO was found to have sore left eye.

 

RACE NO.5(131) – THE GENERAL RAJENDRASINHJI MILLION: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS -  4

 

It was observed that JENDAYI (P. S. Chouhan) was inclined outwards in the straight, despite the Jockeys efforts. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

At the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards HALL OF GRACE was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at the saddling enclosure and was diagnosed to have EIPH (Gr.III) considered as blood vessel 2nd time. The filly is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of eight weeks and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race. 

 

After the race, ALEXANDROS was found to have an injury on its right nostril.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that JENDAYI was found to have sore both eyes with ulcer and ALEXANDROS was found to have sore left eye with ulcer.

 

RACE NO.6(132) – THE BETBRICKS7 CUP: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 14

 

On the way to the starting gates, OPERATION FINALE (R. Ajinkya) dislodged the rider at the 1000 metres and bolted off towards the winning post. As per the norms, Trainer S. K. Sunderji was called and in accordance with the norms the horse was led back to the gates. Thereafter, the gelding was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race. Further, after the race the gelding was trotted and found to be sound. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

LITTORIO (Kirtish Bhagat, dr.3) jumped out awkwardly thereby losing about a length at the start.

 

Approaching the 600 metres, SONIC BOOM (S. J. Sunil) shifted out thereby carrying EMERALD QUEEN (K. Nazil) and ZARAFAT (H. M. Akshay) outwards causing both the horses to be steadied. Jockey S. J. Sunil has been cautioned.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that LITTORIO was found to have both eyes sore with ulcer and OPERATION FINALE was found to have an ulcer in right eye.

 

RACE NO.7(133) – TEENA KATRAK MEMORIAL R.W.I.T.C. LTD TROPHY  (Grade 2): (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS - 5

 

After the race, NORTHERN LIGHTS was trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that NORTHERN LIGHTS, was found to have sore right eye with ulcer.

 

RACE NO.8(134) – THE ASSESSED PLATE: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 12

 

GOLDIVA (P. Trevor, dr.12) and GIMME (N. S. Parmar, dr.1) jumped out slowly thereby losing about two lengths each at the start.

 

After the race, MARANSH, IDEALISTA & GIMME were trotted and found to be sound and SKY HAWK was observed to have lost its right fore shoe.

 

RACE NO.9(135) – THE IRISH BOSS PLATE  - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 12

 

On the arrival at the start, INTENSE BELIEF (Neeraj Rawal) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified her fit to race.

 

On arrival at the start, at the request of Jockey C. S. Jodha (RENAISSANCE ART) his mount was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race.

 

After the race, Jockey P. Shinde (HARRIET) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight, despite his efforts. After the race, the filly was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore, as such, the filly has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, DEFINITELY was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd & 9th race, viz. ZUKOR & FLASHING FAMOUS, and the special samples of PORTOFINO BAY (3rd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

 

The urine and blood samples of JENDAYI (Winner – 5th race), DANGEROUS (Winner – 7th race) & RASPUTIN (2nd place – 7th race) and the special samples of NORTHERN LIGHTS (7th race) & IDEALISTA (8th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS:

 

RE: APPEAL BY MR. VISHAL GAIKWAD AGAINST THE DECISION OF THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB ARISING OUT OF THE ENQUIRY INTO THE CONDUCT AND PENDING ENQUIRIES WHERE HE HAS BEEN DECLARED A DISQUALIFIED / WARNED OFF PERSON BY THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB ON 3RD APRIL 2022:

 

In connection with the captioned subject matter, the Board of Appeal at their meeting held on 2nd November 2023, noted with grave displeasure that Mr. Vishal Gaikwad, had not only failed to submit his grounds of appeal as required under the Rules, but also he did not appear before the Board of Appeal on the day of the meeting without any intimation or informing the reason of his absence. All the members of the Board of Appeal along with officials waited for 30 minutes before concluding that he was not going to appear.

 

The Board of Appeal had decided to declare Mr. Vishal Gaikwad as a disqualified person until such time that he appears before the Board of Appeal and furnish a satisfactory and valid reason for his non – appearance. As such, all the disabilities under the Rules of Racing for Disqualified Person, will be applicable to him till then.

RACE NO.1 (100) – THE RAO SAHEB KEDARI GOLD TROPHY  - DIVISION II: RUN ON 8TH OCTOBER 2023.

 

SWEET EMOTION (T. S. Jodha, dr.3) jumped out awkwardly throwing her head up thereby losing about two lengths at the start. After questioning, Jockey T. S. Jodha stated that he was instructed to settle the filly and in the process she threw her head up. Subsequently, having questioned both Trainer S. S. Shah and Jockey T. S. Jodha and keeping in mind the similar behavior of the filly in her previous starts, the explanations were noted for future reference.

RACE NO.7 (126) – THE A. J. WADIA PLATE: RUN ON 21ST OCTOBER 2023.

 

Trainer Shazaan Shah has been fined Rs.1,000/- for accepting with his charge SPIRIT BAY in two races on the same day. As per the General Conditions published in the Prospectus, the mare was struck out from this race.

RACE NO.2(87) – THE WARSAW PACT TROPHY: RUN NON 24TH SEPTEMBER 2023.

 

Passing the 1300 metres, BUCKLEY (Dashrath Singh) shifted in onto ASHWA YUDHVIR (Amyn Merchant) along the rails, causing the latter to check and drop back. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey Dashrath Singh has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

RACE NO.3(40): THE B. K. LAGAD TROPHY: RUN ON 15TH AUGUST 2023.

 

Jockey S. John was declared by Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait on his charge PRIDE’S ANGEL. After accepting the ride Jockey S. John informed that he missed his flight and as such was unable to fulfill his riding engagement. Subsequently Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait was permitted to declare Jockey Antony Raj S. After enquiring into the matter and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered, Jockey S. John has been fined Rs.5,000/- for failing to fulfill his riding engagement.

RACE NO.3(47) – THE PETRONIA PLATE: RUN ON 20TH AUGUST 2023.

 

After the race, Jockey C. S. Jodha (KIMIKO) stated that at about the 300 metres due to his close proximity to STAR GALLERY (App. Haridas Gore) who was racing on his inside his whip came in contact with App. Haridas Gore which resulted in loss of whip. Having viewed the incident from all angles, it was confirmed that the loss of whip was accidental, as such, no action has been initiated.

RACE NO.2(18) – THE UNICORN PLATE: RUN ON 5TH AUGUST 2023.

 

MASTERY (M. S. Deora, dr.8) tried to duck as the start was effected thereby losing 3 lengths at the start. Having viewed the start from various angles it was confirmed that the horse had ducked just before the start was effected.

RACE NO.5(21) – THE AUGUST HANDICAP: RUN ON 5TH AUGUST 2023.

 

After the race, Jockey Yash Narredu (MISS ALLURE) reported that he was denied a clear passage in the straight due to which he could not ride out his mount to full advantage. On being questioned, Jockey Yash Narredu stated that the filly lacked initial speed and thereafter on entering the straight there was a wall of horses in front of him, as such, he could not ride out his mount to full advantage. However, Jockey Yash Narredu has been asked to be more cautious in the future.

RACE NO.7(16) – THE ISMAIL KHAN PLATE - DIVISION I: RUN ON 30TH JULY 2023:

 

After the race, Jockey N. B. Kuldeep (SPECULATOR) reported that his mount had swayed his head in the adjacent stall while the start was effected. Having viewed all the camera angles the Starter has been asked to inform the handlers to be more cautious in the future.
