RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 3 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES, AND THEREAFTER 4 METRES AWAY UPTO THE WINNING POST.
FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.
On a request from Trainer Deepesh Narredu , permission was granted to Trainer M. Narredu to saddle his charge STAR in the 1st race, at his own (Trainer Deepesh Narredu’s) risk and responsibility.
On a request from Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha, permission was granted to Trainer Himmat Singh to saddle his charge EXEMPLIFY in the 5th race and WINTER AGENDA in the 6th race, at his own (Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha’s) risk and responsibility.
RACE NO.1 (49) THE ROBERTA TROPHY - DIVISION II (ABOUT) 1600 METRES : RUNNERS - 12
In the process of stalling, GEOGRAPHIQUE (Neeraj Rawal, dr.10) was fractious resulting in dislodging its rider and thereafter was reluctant to stall. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at the morning trails, before next accepting to race.
LADIDA (Bhawani Singh, dr.12) planted in the stall taking no practical part in the race. Trainer Karthik Ganpathy has been asked to show his charge in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.
STAR (R. Shelar, dr.5) whipped around after the start taking no practical part in the race. Trainer Deepesh Narredu has been asked to show his charge in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting to race.
JERUSALEM (App. A. S. Peter, dr.9) jumped out slowly losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, ZIP ALONG (App. P. S. Kaviraj, dr.8) jumped and veered out onto GEOGRAPHIQUE (Neeraj Rawal, dr.10) despite the rider’s efforts. In view of the behavior Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, BRAVE BEAUTY (K. Nazil, dr.3) jumped and ducked outwards and went across MY NAME IS TRINITY (Amyn Merchant) who was marginally slow to begin.
Soon after the start, ZIP ALONG (P. S. Kaviraj) despite the rider’s efforts shifted out and carried PEREGRINE FALCON (C. Umesh) outwards thereafter BRAVE BEAUTY (K. Nazil) shifted out thereby forcing ZIP ALONG and PEREGRINE FALCON outwards.
Approaching the 1200 metres, BLUE’S PRIDE (N. B. Kuldeep) shifted out onto BRAVE BEAUTY (K. Nazil). Jockey N. B. Kuldeep has been cautioned.
Passing the 400 metres, PRINCE O’ WAR (N. S. Parmar) leaned inwards thereby tightening GOLDIVA (Vishal N. Bunde) who had to be steadied. Jockey N. S. Parmar has been cautioned.
After the race, App. A. S. Peter (JERUSALEM) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight despite his efforts. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
RACE NO.2 (50) THE ALDEBURGH TROPHY (ABOUT) 2400 METRES : RUNNERS - 6

RACE NO.3 (51) THE ROBERTA TROPHY - DIVISION I (ABOUT) 1600 METRES : RUNNERS - 12
ARIES (Bhawani Singh, dr.7) refused to stall despite substantial efforts as such the gelding was withdrawn before coming under the Starters order. In view of above and a similar behavior of the gelding in his last outing where he was accepted to run. Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to show his charge in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.
WHATSINANAME (Vishal N. Bunde, dr.3) was reluctant to stall. Trainer Asad Siddiqui has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at the morning starting trails, before next accepting to race.
Passing the 1400 metres, LOVE WARRIOR (D. R. Shubham) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing TOUSSAINT (Neeraj Rawal) causing the latter to check and drop back thereafter Jockey D. R. Shubham was observed to have maintained an erratic course. After questioning Jockey D. R. Shubham and not being satisfied with the explanation, he has been fined of Rs.3,000/.
Passing the 900 metres, SPECULATOR (S. Zervan) shifted out onto CHARLIE (R. Ajinkya). After the race on questioning, Jockey S. Zervan stated that he had shifted out in order to avoid clipping the heels of LOVE WARRIOR (D. R. Shubham) racing directly in front of him.
Approaching the 800 metres, CHARLIE (R. Ajinkya) shifted in under urgings thereby bumping and jostling with SPECULATOR (S. Zervan). After questioning, Jockey R. Ajinkya and not being satisfied with the explanation, he has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Jockey N. S. Parmar (LORD FENICIA) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2022/23, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
After the race, ARIES, WHATSINANAME & DRAGONLORD were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.4 (52) THE LA RONDINE TROPHY (ABOUT) 1400 METRES : RUNNERS - 16
DALASAN (A. Sandesh, dr.7) jumped out slowly losing considerable ground at the start. Trainer S. Waheed has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at the morning starting trails, before next accepting to race.
MARIELLA (N. B. Kuldeep, dr.14) fly jumped throwing its head thereby losing 3 lengths in the process at the start.
Approaching the 700 metres, COME BACK PLEASE (C. Umesh) weakened and dropped back due to which DAGGER’S STRIKE (N. S. Parmar) racing on its haunches had to check and change course at the same time SONISHA (App. A. S. Peter) leaned in thereby tightening and inconveniencing CAPRIFLA (App. P. S. Kaviraj) racing between them causing the latter to check and drop back. Both, Jockey N. S. Parmar and App. A. S. Peter have been cautioned.
After the race, Jockey R. Ajinkya (MOMENT OF MADNESS) and Jockey N. S. Parmar (DAGGER’S STRIKE) reported that they were denied a clear passage in the straight, due to which they could not ride out their mounts.
RACE NO.5 (53) THE SERJEANT AT ARMS TROPHY (ABOUT) 1600 METRES : RUNNERS - 9
CHOPIN (App. Kirtish Bhagat, dr.3) jumped out slowly losing about a length at the start.
Passing the 300 metres, FLYING SCOTSMAN (N. S. Parmar) was held up for room and had to be steadied.
Jockey S. Zervan (RAMBLER) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2022/23, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
After the race, CHOPIN, PRIDE’S ANGEL & FLYING SCOTSMAN were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6 (54) THE KARL UMRIGAR TROPHY (ABOUT) 1400 METRES: RUNNERS - 13
WINTER AGENDA (App. P. S. Kaviraj, dr.11) took a fly jump at the start.
At the start, CHENEVIX TRENCH (Neeraj Rawal, dr.1) jumped outwards and went across SEA THE SUN (C. Umesh, dr.2) who was marginally slow to begin.
Approaching the 1300 metres, BALIUS WARRIOR (D. R. Shubham) shifted in and went across BIG RED (A. Sandesh) causing the latter to check and change course thereby inconveniencing JAMARI (App. Kirtish Bhagat) who had to be steadied.
BALIUS WARRIOR (D. R. Shubham) was observed to have travelled wide throughout the straight for no apparent reason. Jockey D. R. Shubham has been cautioned.
RACE NO.7 (55) THE BERLIOZ TROPHY - DIVISION II (ABOUT) 1000 METRES : RUNNERS - 12
At the start, VICTORY CHANT (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.10) jumped outwards at the same time HOUSE OF LORDS (App. P. S. Kaviraj, dr.11) jumped inwards and they made contact.
Soon after the start, CHAMPAGNE SMILE (Vishal N. Bunde) shifted in under urgings and went across VICTORY CHANT (App. Mustakim Alam) who had to be steadied thereafter CHAMPAGNE SMILE further shifted in thereby tightening HUNTING GODDESS (P. S. Chouhan), ADAMAS (C. S. Jodha) and SENTINEL (Bhawani Singh) causing the latter to check and drop back due to which DIVINE INTUITION (Akshay Gaikwad) racing on its haunches had to be checked thereby inconveniencing LION KING (App. P. Vinod). After questioning Jockey Vishal N. Bunde and not being satisfied with the explanation, his Jockey’s licence has been suspended for one race day i.e. on Saturday, 4th February 2023 (permitted to ride work/mock race) for careless riding.
Passing the 800 metres, SENTINEL (Bhawani Singh) leaned in due to which DIVINE INTUITION (Akshay Gaikwad) shifted in thereby tightening LION KING (App. P. Vinod) who had to be checked. Jockey Bhawani Singh has been cautioned.
After the race, HOUSE OF LORDS was trotted and found to be sound and LION KING was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.
RACE NO.8 (56) THE DANGEROUS LIASON (ABOUT) 1200 METRES : RUNNERS - 14
It was observed that KAITLAN (Neeraj Rawal) came into the paddock sporting a tongue strap for which prior permission was not obtained. The said equipment was removed before the filly left the paddock. As such, Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been fined Rs.1,000/- for his lapse.
Passing the 500 metres, MONARCHY (K. Nazil) shifted out onto DALI SWIRL (App. Haridas Gore). Jockey K. Nazil has been cautioned.
In the final stages of the race, DRAGONESS (N. S. Parmar) shifted in under the whip and made contact with LORD VADER (Bhawani Singh) soon after the winning post. Jockey N. S. Parmar has been severely reprimanded.
After the race, KAITLAN was found to be sore by the right fore. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, LIT was trotted and found to be sound and DALI SWIRL was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.
RACE NO.9 (57) THE BERLIOZ TROPHY - DIVISION I (ABOUT) 1000 METRES : RUNNERS - 12
On arrival at the starting gate at the request of Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe, NOBILITY was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sound.
OUTLANDER (R. Ajinkya, dr.7) refused to stall despite substantial efforts as such the gelding was withdrawn before coming under Starters order. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at the morning starting trails, before next accepting to race.
After being stalled, KISLING (J. Chinoy, dr.11) rushed into the front gates and came out. The gelding was examined by the Club Sr. V. O who certified him fit to race. Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at the morning starting trails, before next accepting to race.
DEFINITELY (K. Nazil, dr.10) jumped out slowly losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at the morning starting trails, before next accepting to race.
At the start, DIVINE THOUGHTS (A. Sandesh) jumped inwards thereby brushing the haunches of HILMA KLINT (App. Mustakim Alam).
Passing the 200 meters, DIVINE THOUGHTS (A. Sandesh) shifted out under pressure onto INISHMORE (App. P. Shinde).
After the race, ALMAS, KISLING and NOBILITY were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 6th & 8th race, viz. WAIKIKI & MAJESTIC WARRIOR, and the special sample of DRAGONLORD (3rd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
