RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED  3 METRES AWAY FROM  ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 5 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 6 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.  FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

RACE NO.1(169) – THE KINGFISHER BUZZ – LIFE IS DELICIOUS CUP (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 13 

 

At the start, MATRIOSHKA (Altaf Syyed, dr.2) jumped out awkwardly.

 

At the start, DELTIN (App. Yash Narredu, dr. 6) shifted out and made contact with POLAR ZONE (C. S. Jodha, dr. 7).

 

Passing the 900 metres, MATRIOSHKA (Altaf Sayyed) shifted out and at the same time CHLOBUD (App. G. Amit) shifted in, whereby both the horses made contact.

 

In the final stages of the race, RIPOSTE (Amyn Merchant) shifted in on to QUEEN OF VENUS (Dashrath Singh), who in turn went on to GOOD MEMORY (T. S. Jodha). Jockey Amyn Merchant has been cautioned.

 

After the race, App. Yash Narredu (DELTIN) reported that his mount stumbled in the last 50 metres.

 

After the race, QUEEN OF VENUS was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, CHASE THE ACE was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind cannon and CHLOBUD had a gum injury. DELTIN and RIPOSTE were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(170) – THE KINGFISHER ULTRA-MAX CHALLENGE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 18

 

After being stalled, BARYSHNIKOV (App. R. Ajinkya) tried to duck the front gate. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race.

 

LEOTHEFIERCEHORSE (App. S. J. Sunil) took a fly jump.

 

Passing 1000 metres, OLIVIA KASPEN (Amyn Merchant) who was racing between WONDER STORY (R. Shelar) and BIG BRO (HANUMANT SINGH), was tightened for room and dropped back, due to which LEOTHEFIERCEHORSE (App. S. J. Sunil) clipped its heels and stumbled.

 

Passing 1000 metres, WINNING GIRL (N. S. Parmar) shifted in on to ZATCHI (C. S. Jodha) and at the same time BIG BRO (Hanumant Singh) shifted out, due to which SANSA (App. Yash Narredu) was tightened for room and dropped back.

 

Approaching 300 metres, QUEEN THEA (App. Bhawani Singh) shifted out on to RACHEL (Neeraj Rawal) who had to be steadied. Thereafter, QUEEN THEA further shifted out on to JEZEBEL (P. Trevor), who in turn shifted out on to  SHE’S AN ACE (S. Sunil). App. Bhawani Singh has been cautioned.

 

Jockey S. Sunil (SHE’S AN ACE) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the improved performance of ANCIENT GLORY and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, QUEEN THEA was found to be sound, but having wolf tooth on the left side. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, ZATCHI and BARYSHNIKOV were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(171)  – THE KINGFISHER BUZZ – LIFE IS DELICIOUS CUP (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 13

 

After being stalled, ASAHI (Kishore Kadam) hooked one of its hind legs on the side platform. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race.  Tr. Rehanullah Khan has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

KHALEEFA (App. D. M. Ayyar) jumped out slow, losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

At the start, PLAN B (App. G. Amit, dr.6) shifted in on to PRAELECTOR (Neeraj Rawal, dr.5).

 

Soon after the start, ASAHI (Kishore Kadam) shifted in on to SHAHRIYAR (J. E. Pereira) who was tightened along the rails and dropped back.

 

Soon after the start, Jockey T. S. Jodha (MAKE IT SHINE) was observed to have lost his whip.

 

Passing 300 metres, ABSOLUTE JEWEL (Sameer Khan) shifted out thereby inconveniencing PASSION PRINCE (App. Bhawani Singh).

 

The saddle used on KHALEEFA (App. S. Joseph) was observed to have slipped forward during the race. After questioning Trainer S. Waheed, he has been fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty saddling of his charge and asked to be more careful in the future.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and ridding of MAKE IT SHINE (T. S. Jodha) and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into comparative performance of BORN TO WIN (App. H. Zeeshan) and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, PLAN B was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, PASSION PRINCE, ABSOLUTE JEWEL, KHALEEFA, MAKE IT SHINE and SHAHRIYAR (examined on 07/02/2016), were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(172) – THE McDOWELL’S NO.1 SODA TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres – Runners -  18

 

Soon after the start, SENSEX (C. Alford, dr.7) shifted in on to MASTERSTRIKE (App. S. J. Sunil, dr.6), who in turn went on to MAGIC VISION (Altaf Sayyed, dr.5).

 

Passing 500 metres, SENSEX (C. Alford) who was racing between FRINGE BENEFIT (App. S. Joseph) and ALFONSO (App. Bhawani Singh), was tightened for room and dropped back.

 

After the race, on questioning Jockey T. S. Jodha (LUCKY STRIKE), he stated that his mount was running green and was also jumping over shadows.

 

After the race, COMMITMENT, MAGIC VISION, MASTERSTRIKE and WIZARD OF ODDS were found to be sound. MASTERSTRIKE had lost its right hind plate.

 

RACE NO.5(173) – THE ROYAL CHALLENGE SPORTS DRINK TROPHY: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners - 9

 

At the start, SAMBA WARRIOR (C. Alford, dr. 7) shifted in on to ANNIE (N. S. Parmar, dr. 5).

 

Passing 1200 metres, JOSS (Dashrath Singh) was observed to have brushed the rails.

 

In the final stages of the race, MAGNOLIA (P. S. Chouhan) shifted in thereby tightening DAISHONIN (A. Sandesh) along the rails.

 

After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar (ANNIE) reported that his mount hung out in the straight despite his efforts. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

 

After the race, SAMBA WARRIOR, ANNIE, STARRY MOMENT and OREIUS were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(174) – THE KINGFISHER ULTRA – EMPEROR OF GOOD TIMES CHALLENGE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 11 

 

ALDERLEY EDGE (T. S. Jodha) whipped around after the start and took no part in the race. Trainer S. Waheed has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting with him to race.

 

Soon after the start, PERSIAN PRINCE (P. S. Chouhan, dr.9) shifted in thereby tightening the field on his inside, due to which REMEMBRANCE OF YOU (S. Zervan) had to be checked and dropped back on to PEPITO (J. Chinoy) who clipped the heels of the former and stumbled. Thereafter, PERSIAN PRINCE further shifted in on to PHOENIX CAT (Dashrath Singh) who was tightened along the rails and dropped back on to LA TRAVIATA (C. S. Jodha). Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been fined Rs.3,000/- for shifting in before the Red Marker.

 

After the race, PEPITO and WILD WAVES (examined on 07/02/2016), were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(175) – THE BAGPIPER SODA TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 16

 

After being stalled, KINGSTON HEATH (P. S. Chouhan) rushed the front gate and went through. The gelding was caught at about 100 metres from the starting gate and was examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race.

 

SILVER SHADOW (A. Ashhad Asbar) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.  

 

At the start, KISS FROM A ROSE (App. Yash Narredu, dr.5) shifted out and at the same time MAKINO (Dashrath Singh, dr.7) shifted in, due to which QUEEN CREDIBLE (App. S. J. Sunil, dr.6) was hampered for room.

 

At the start, KNIGHT AT ARMS (J. Chinoy, dr.11) shifted in on to MASKED BANDITO (N. S. Parmar, dr.10) who had to be steadied.

 

At the start, SILVER SHADOW (A. Ashhad Asbar, dr.15) shifted out on to MIKAYLA (Neeraj Rawal, dr.16).

 

Soon after the start, KINGSTON HEATH (P. S. Chouhan, dr.14) shifted in and cut across the field. Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been cautioned.

 

In the last 50 metres, QUEEN CREDIBLE (App. S. J. Sunil) shifted in and went across MIKAYLA (Neeraj Rawal).

 

App. S, J, Sunil (QUEEN CREDIBLE) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. As the same was used as a corrective measure, no action has been initiated.   

 

After the race, KNIGHT AT ARMS, MAKINO and KINGSTON HEATH were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(176) – THE KUNIGAL STUD BREEDERS’ PRODUCE STAKES (GR.3): (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 10

 

COVERT ACTION (Kishore Kadam) was restless in the stall and in the process the rider got hurt and was unable to ride, as such, the gelding was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainer B. Prakash has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race.

 

Passing 800 metres, EMPERADOR (Suraj Narredu) shifted in, due to which STAR COUNCILLOR (S. John) was hampered along the rails.

 

Jockey Suraj Narredu (EMPERADOR) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. As the same was used as a corrective measure, no action has been initiated.   

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of IN MY DREAM and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

COVERT ACTION and SIR DESMOND were found to be sound.

 

GERMANICUS (P. Trevor) was placed fifth and STAR COUNCILLOR (S. John) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

 

RACE NO.9(177) – THE McDOWELL’S NO.1 SODA TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres – Runners -  17

 

At the request of Trainer Altaf Hussain, WOVEN DREAMS was examined at 1045 hours on 06/02/2016 and was found to be sore by the right fore leg, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. 

 

Soon after the start, RAPID GIRL (App. R. Ajinkya, dr.17) shifted in and went across MARCUS AURELIUS (S. Sunil, dr.16) who had to be steadied. App. R. Ajinkya has been cautioned.

 

Passing 1200 metres, FAST FUTURE (App. S. J. Sunil) shifted out, due to which ZAMBIAN (App.Yash Narredu) shied and went on to NEPTUNE’S OCEAN (Akshay).

 

Approaching 400 metres, NEPTUNE’S OCEAN (Akshay) shifted in on to LHOTSE (Amyn Merchant) who was hampered along the rails.

 

After the race, SHOW BIZ, STARDOM CALLING, NEPTUNE’S OCEAN, SEVEN SEAS, ESPADA and ZAMBIAN were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winners of all races viz. RIDER ON THE STORM (1st race), ANCIENT GLORY (2nd race), BORN TO WIN (3rd race), STREETJAMMER (4th race), DAISHONIN 5th race), PERSIAN PRINCE (6th race), QUEEN CREDIBLE (7th race) BOLD MARCH (8th race) and SIDDHI (9th race), as also that of IN MY DREAM & EMPERADOR (8th race), and the special sample of MAKE IT SHINE (3rd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORT:

 

Trainer S. Padmanabhan has been fined Rs.1,000/- for accepting with his charge ICE GLACIER in The Kunigal Stud Breeders' Produce Stakes (Gr.3) when the filly was on a veterinary ban. The filly was struck out at the Acceptance Stage.

RE :  APPREAL FROM TR.S.S.SHAH IN RESPECT OF THE DECISION OF THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB SUSPENDING HIS TRAINER’S LICENSE W.E.F. 28TH JANUARY, 2016 TO 26TH FEBRUARY, 2016 (BOTH DAYS INCLUSIVE) AND A FINE OF RS.15,000/- - ENQUIRY INTO THE POSITIVE REPORT IN RESPECT OF b f “SOUL CENTRIC” (WINNER) IN RACE NO.86 – THE RAPHAELA PLATE (DIV.II) RUN ON 29TH AUGUST, 2015 – POSITIVE FOR “CATHINONE” :

 

The Board of Appeal at its meeting held on 4th February, 2016, considered an appeal from Trainer S.S.Shah in the above connection.

 

The Board of Appeal having studied all documents and papers that were submitted and having heard the submissions made by Tr. S. S. Shah and his Spokesman, Dr. Prashant Wandhare, deliberated on the matter at length and having applied their minds to the entire facts of the case, decided to reject his Appeal. Accordingly, the decision of the Stewards of the Club stands. His Deposit for the Appeal was forfeited.

 

In view of the Stay granted on the punishment given by the Stewards of the Club, Trainer S. S. Shah’s License will now stand suspended w.e.f Monday, 8thvFebruary 2016 upto and inclusive of 8th March 2016.
